Newchurch is OK but the house prices are more expensive than the equivalent in Stacksteads.
I have an old Edwardian house in Stacksteads with 10 large rooms that I got so cheap It meant I could pay off my mortgage completely once I’d sold my other house (a tiny modern 3 bed semi in Bacup).

Still Icy in my yard in Stacksteads…..but that’s not really near Gisburn so not much help really.

The carpet is awful and should be burned…there problem solved!

He does seem to have an irrational belief that I’ll buy him the bass guitar in the charity shop down the road, though.

I live in Stacksteads and think its OK. I used to live in Bacup, Haslingden, Helmshore.
The problem with Rossendale is the negative attitude a lot of people seem to have but as I work in Manchester and don’t get out much locally except on the bike this isn’t a problem for me.

Ideally I would live in Cornwall by the sea but for now Stacky will have to do!
