I have had a road bike for well over a year now so obviously know everything about road racing and the classics and I do believe he can do this. I can almost feel the momentum building from the office here in Manchester!

Providing he doesn’t fall off and hurt himself……

I strava’d up the road last night like a man possessed!

    I’m now 29th 😀 woo hoo

Quite like using Strava off road for finding local routes that I haven’t tried yet

Never been interested in anything like Facebook; I’d rather lean over the fence and have a yarn with my neighbours.

You’ve missed out the gentle slopes of Rakehead lane….a ride up there would be grand in this weather 😀

I’ve got some gel ones too and find them uncomfortable. I’m fine without any gloves though so I’ve gone for some cheap leather un-padded mitts

Cut a hole in 1.5mm with an ordinary steel cutting blade and it went through like butter so I would give it a go

Ran them for a while (Hayes MX2) Then got a hydraulic for the front for extra stopping power. Worked fine like this as I didn’t need as much stopping power on the rear. Fully hydro now and they are preferable but its not a huge difference.

My daughter still rides the balance bike (a £5 second hand normal kids bike that I took the cranks etc off)as fast as she can down hills etc. She rides her shiny new bike with stabilizers around the house and wont even take it outside 😯
