We have a Booths and a Lidl equidistant. I go Lidl and wife goes Booths. What really annoys me is when she goes Tescos

Well done WCA, good to hear you are still happy.
Me and the missus will be 23 next april, our eldest will be 23 next sept We had only known each other 3 months, felt a big decision at the time but wouldn’t change it for the world. Might swap the wife for a carbon White though

Beautiful area but very few trails. We go most years and I tend to drive the hour to CyB for an off road fix. Nice area for road cycling though with lots of quiet country lanes

I remember chuckling when it first started, is it really five years ago?

What’s a crown race by the way?

Good call Russyh, a very good roady friend cured his back pain by having a bike fit, they altered his saddle angle

Suffered from on and off bad back pain for a few years, brought on by the same riding position you mentioned. I find glute stretches both before and during the ride make it more bearable. you do get some odd looks from other bikers though when you are tucked in a yoga position at the side of the trail,
Try stretches, core exercises, pain killers before giving up.

I was slightly sceptical of the post initially but thinking about it a colleague of mine had a similar experience at Gisburn last year. Went to show his daughter one of the newer steep bits just off the fire road, and got a hail of abuse from riders coming down it. He is an experienced biker and was several meters off the trail.
Not the end of the world, but not pleasant when on a day out with your 6 year old

I know very little about this but can give one piece of invaluable advice. A couple of years ago a colleague decided to lay his own laminate floor and used a knee board to knock the planks into place. One swift bash of the knee whilst down on all fours and he managed to trap the skin of his forearms between planks and pinned himself to the floor. Had to rip his skin to release himself.
Oh how we laughed when he regaled the tale having returned to work after several days off sick.

Ransos, the Le Terrier looks a bit of a beast. That climb from Slaidburn towards Bentham is an amazing stretch of road. Living in Clitheroe i have ridden most of this route, but never in chunks of more than 50 miles.

My nana had tinned macaroni cheese from the napoleonic wars in her cupboard and they never did us any harm. They were over 10 years old, she also had babycham from the early 70’s that we drank on new years eve 4 years ago. No unexpected side effects

Unfortunately after the recent cuts this won’t be dealt with by the police. Council should have a taxi enforcement officer.

L Glutamine powder takes the edge off for me, slightly less knackered than I would be otherwise. I have only really started using this in my mid/late 4o’s. My eldest has just got himself a proper job in the far flung northeast and left all his myprotein stuff here. I’ve tried it after a few hard rides recently and again it does seem to help.

Currently on Cava, not quite sure why. Can’t see France capitulating, will be close as ever. To be fair there has been some great play from Ireland and Wales today, not quite sure if the English psyche is as unencumbered

If rioting happens on a similar scale again it will be interesting, police numbers are significantly lower than in 2011 and certainly in my county the number of riot trained officers has also drastically reduced.

Whistle Down the Wind and some shmaltz with James Bolam were filmed in Downham just up the road. Lord and Lady Clitheroe own the place and they don’t allow tv aerials etc in the village

When you ride your road bike with carbon sole shoes to St Annes where you are to meet up with your wife and kids who have driven there, them having brought you some clothes so you can have a walk on the front and go for lunch. Finding that your offspring has forgotten to pack some shoes that it is possible to walk in, and only being able to find a shop that sells tartan slippers.
Ohh my eldest did chuckle from 10 yards behind me on the prom

The tenant pays all the bills, it is specialist insurance which can cover things like lost rent and legal fees but you need to ring a few and ask them. A good agent will visit the property reasonably regularly to inspect condition etc., and will sort minor maintenance and gas certs. A good way to sus agents is to go around town to each one and pretend to be a prospective tenant, see how much attention they pay to you

You could get an agent to manage the rental for you which means they take a percentage monthly, or they will do it for a finders fee only (usually a months rent ish), and you do the rest. As with other things some agents will look after you whilst others will just take the money.
You could do it yourself, you should be able to find a decent contract on the internet, make sure you get a good deposit, about a month and a halfs rent, and a months payment upfront.
Some tenants are great, some are terrible, luck of the draw and a little research is necessary

Do a bit of road myself out towards Settle or the trough normally. I find there is plenty of off road locally to keep me happy between trips, just got to do a bit of cheeky every now and then.

Globalti, I regularly get stared at in the New Inn, grew up in Wilpshire and now live in Clitheroe just up from the Waggon. Do you get up to much mtbing in these parts or is it mainly road?
