DLR was THE front-man for Van Halen, However….. Sammy was already established as an excellent performer in his own right. And as such did a good stint with Van Halen.

It was not a competition, just evolution…. talented, and ‘enduring’ people.

OH! and Chickenfoot on Saturday WILL be an excellent live performance….. Sammy and Joe FFS !

I personally like the positivity and ‘clickyness’ and SRAM (I use X9 & X0) seem strong in mud etc, with the 1:1 pull and stuff just seems more direct.

Mine are not the new 10 speed ones available now, so no experience of those.

I have been reading this with interest. I sell stuff for a living and am well aware or product liability issues, providing customer service etc. However, I am surprised at the fuss being made here. it is evident that the seller did not knowingly sell a ‘faulty’ item. And the buyer did purchase a knowingly used item, and not somthing like a seat post or stem, but a wheel with a fairly complex (and service) components. The important point imo is that there was no fault present at the time the transaction took place.

When buying used somtimes you get a real bargain and sometimes you may have to put your hand in your pocket…….. still much cheaper than buying new (with which you get your warranty and buyer protection !)

Thats life I’m afraid ! it’ll work for you as well sometime. (if it hasn’t already)

Bit pricey compared to some, however quite good quality, and doesn’t look like it’ll explode without warning !

My first single was T Rex – Truck On (Tyke) which I also still have! That proves that there are at least two copies still in existence !

Album – The Sweet, Desolation Boulevard…. Not only do I still have it. I still like it………. only 37 years later 🙁

I am not convinced that the car has to be taxed to put the number on retention. Registering the car as SORN may suffice. Best bet, phone the DVLA at Swansea they are usually very helpful.

I doubt it’s too complicated to resolve !

[you also don’t know how old everyone is. Mortgage paid off at 30 is impressive. Mortgage paid off at 60 is less so ]

Good point… I hadn’t thought of the possible age range !! It’s just that everyone on here SOUNDS so young 😉

Mcboo- I understand that, though of course it would be more desirable to not have the outgoing. I am just surprised how many people are saying they have paid/cleared their mortgage debt…….

Mind you I suppose the majority that have it all upside down are probably working too hard to post stuff on this forum at 17:25 on a week day !!

I am surprised how many people here have paid off their mortgages. That for me is the biggest monthly outgoing and I thought that having 60% ish equity in our property was doing ok………….

    Seems it’s not 🙁

My Inkjet printer just went wrong, after 5 years mind. I was going to replace it with a lazer printer as the ink cartridges had proven expensive. However… I have just bought another (HP) inkjet as the new ink cartridges claim to do twice as many pages and are cheaper to buy 🙂 I have tried the ‘cartridgeworld’ etc inks and have found them to be rubbish don’t last and streaky after a while so I buy genuine replacements.

I receive good service from HSBC, and I have only heard good things about First Direct, which could be an option if you feel their way of operating would suit you.

I hadn’t ridden a bike since my mid teens (late 70’s 8O) and whilst over the years I had kept a bit of fitness it was not until around 2004 after seeing a mountain bike (a 90’s AMP Research, I seem to remember) in my friends shed looking very sad and unused. In short he lent me the bike, I fixed it up and went for a few rides on it.
I then met some locals who went riding got really hooked, so in 2005 I bought a KONA Kikapu and went from there. I am so glad I did, and Mrs Landcruiser can’t believe I am still soooo keen.

The SL is a lovely thing, however ONLY buy one if you are prepared for potential great expense in the future. (you could be ok,but…)

Any signs of water leaking in the boot, look under the carpet where the hydraulic pump is situated, or leaks around any of the roof seals, Beware !!!

Not a car for carefree ownership IMO unless you have a few quid in reserve.

Mark E Smith has a very loyal group of fans who do identify with his ‘vision’ and the term genius is often used by them. I however, just don’t really get it. Maybe should have gone to find out !

Too far, too dark, too lazy… Rather go for a ride !
