Here here chaps Ime an avid MTB'er , work in the plumbing trade , and am a qualified CTC trail instructor whose been following STW for years. But guess what Ive got a thwacking great big beard , am a Muslim and of Pakistani origin.
Contrary to popular belief Muslims do go biking , they also have cars and TV,s.
Wake up my fellow biking bretheren Pakistan is a nation dominated by about 20 feudal families the likes of the Bhuttos , Zardaris and Choudry groups. Ever noticed how civilian govt's in Pakistan bounce between these groups or the army ?
Ever wondered why Benazir at the behest of the Western govt's was brought back as the sacrificial lamb ? How come somebody like Imran Khan is not encouraged or supported by the west ? Benazir Bhutto and her husband ransacked Pakistan lining their own pockets and building a property empire abroad. Yet she's always made to look like the heroin of Pakistan. But defying all odds her husband a known criminal in exile manages to manipulate his way into power.

If your basing your opinions from info off the net ie Wikipedia then please don't it's not as simple as that.

Pakistan is still a country full of great people and a rich culture and great riding , probably more singletrack than anywhere. Unfortunatly most of those people are the poor with no voice and no social standing. They are the ones today who are dying , and have suffered the brunt of this disaster. Just bear in mind do you think that anybody asked them wether Pakistan needs nukes ?

Molgrips mines the older on 2002. Back right hand corner theres a recess for bits/ fag lighter, you can get the rear mech in there and keep the bars towards the back. My medium Yeti 575 goes in no probs.

For what its worth I can get a full bike into the boot of my Passat saloon without folding the rear seats , with the wheels and seatpost removed of course.

Whatever your buying be wary of the clockers. Sold my old car two months ago showing in excess of 250k and its back in the ATrader with 118k !!!

Ive got a Passat with the 1.9PD engine and its just coming up to 250k miles and over seven years its rarely put a foot wrong. Ive drove many an A6 with the 1.9 engine and their just fine.

This 2.5 is a V6 and its one of the early one they had a problem with premature camshaft wear and when they go wrong your looking at big bucks. The previous 2.5 was a five cylinder and that was legendary this one is a lot more complex. It is the same as the Passat but oddly Audis tend to suffer more electrical glitches.

Just a point but Ive had to use the middle lane on an empty motorway as the car tends to tramline where HGVs have grooved the road. The wider the tyres the worse it is and at times quire dangerous.

Other than that if people want to use the middle lane they can you just go past them in the outer lane.

Don't worry to much I had a similar accident at j11 of the M4 at Reading.

The layout of the roundabout is much the same.

A woman in a people carrier to my left just wiped me out and just couldn't understand how it was her fault.

I took lots of pics of the lanes and clearly explained what had happened and the case was settled in my favour.

I hope your family is OK accidents aren't nice no matter how minor.

I bought my Passat TDI with this sort of mileage 94k with full history straight from Lease Plan. Ive had it six years its now done 237k miles and apart from regular maintainance its hasnt put a foot wrong.
The mass air flow meters (MAF) and EGR valves tend play up on them although if you check the service book/printout it may tell you if theyve been replaced. You can always ring the dealers whose stamps are in the service book to see exactly what theyve done. Also just keep an eye on the clutch mine started showing signs of wear around 130k and its better to replace them straight away.

Not the most exciting cars but Ide have one again and if you can get it below book your doing well.

Just to cast a ray of light my mates hardtail was stolen a few weeks ago and he was gutted. Whilst out and about on Saturday afternoon I saw a guy riding a similar bike. Turned the car round drove past him and then confronted him. It was my mates bike although he was adamant it was his mates. Anyhow he went home walking and I left with the bike hanging out of my boot.

This was the second time this had happened to my friend in as many years , we never thought we would see it again. So best of luck and keep your eyes peeled.

Hmmm a mate of mine convinced me this argument was true.

Fair enough there isnt a case for excess speeding , 80mph is more than enough if you are going over the limit. Whats really scary is people who put no planning or observation into their driving. I regularly drive late evening or at night to avoid traffic and the amount of people you see leaving it late braking at the last minute behind some artic even when theres ample time and space for them to MSM and move on.
Remember nobody will willingly pile their motor into another or the barrier but if your not looking your going to cause chaos.
