I should have mentioned also that I think my marks came from riding a very muddy Red Kite enduro where the back wheel got so caked up it wouldn’t turn.

I’m running 2.3 HR 2 on my Bronson C and I have some marks on the inside of the seat stay but not as bad as the OP

    Base Tune

I’ve just fitted the same shock to my Bronson and the difference it has made to the bike for climbing is outstanding.

I was in a group with them last year and had an amazing week.

The D3O pads I have need to be warm to be nice and flexible so best to wear them next to your skin

Sounds like as I’m not after any fancy custom colours etc then I’m just as well to buy factory ones and use some of the money I’d save to have them re-tensioned by a LBS

    Cheers for feedback everyone

njee20, I admit I was being a bit vague, of course I don’t think it impossible.

When I asked the ‘daft’ :D question I had in mind an M6 bolt similar to this

as this was the kind of bolt mentioned in another thread which was seized and apparently rounded off by a professional mechanic.

I’m seeing lots of, yes using ball end, and when there’s crud in the bolt etc.

I probably wasn’t clear but by correctly fitting driver I mean none of the above.

I was talking about a perfect fitting driver in a clean and undamaged bolt.

    I’m sure it’s easy on a < 3mm bolt but 4mm upwards?

and yes singlespeedstu I do work in an office.

I know he was probably paid to ride it,

but, would you risk you life doing this on an “obese beginners” bike for any amount of money?

As mentioned above all SC bikes seem to split opinions, one man’s meat and all that.

Thank you leeroybrown for your generous offer, in the end I took out a service plan with Baxi (who own potterton) and the engineer came along, took one look at the red light and said, “boards gone, I’ll get one from my van” and 10 mins later the boiler was all fired up again.

Sorry I should have mentioned that part of the installation was to take a photo of the old stat before I did anything and I have now put the old stat back in place exactly as it was before but still have the boiler problem.

    Thanks for your response Rich.

I have contacted a plumber to come out but earliest availability is Thursday and we would be about to have the cold snap, ha teach me to try anything with the heating in the middle of winter!

tthew, I was going to turn it round but the one I have has one side with a recess for the female part of the chain bolt.

oldnpastit I was looking at the wear on my narrow wide chainring and the narrow teeth are more worn on the outside compared to the inside, I wanted to move the chainring in a little bit to see if it made a different on the teeth wear.

sillyoldman I’m running a single Narrow Wide chainring on a Saint double crankset, the chainring is mounted in the ‘middle’ position, thanks for the part numbers though.

    I covered mine with these

    Floor tiles

Nice to walk and stand on, feels warmer and stops things clattering and breaking when you drop them.

I had a set of 2010 TALAS and converted then to float, was an easy conversion and the difference it made was very noticeable.

The became much plusher on small bumps etc.

I thought this was going to be great when I was building it up

but for me it was terrible to ride, on the downs it felt like it was trying to throw me off at any moment.

What if that bike was the only way the owner could get to his/her minimum wage job in order to earn just enough money to feed his/her family?

No one knows all the facts but if the person did take the bike just because they wanted something that someone has worked for and they couldn’t be bothered to work for it then I agree with njee20.

Deanfbm – I admit I’m not great with drops, if I take them at speed (and when I say them I mean relatively small ones) I am able to un-weight the bike enough to get me over them.

I’d like to be better at them and I intend to try and rectify this.

The thing that impressed me most about the guy at BPW was there was no obvious shift in weight and no apparent pulling on the bars etc, it just looked ‘magic’

I wasn’t about to ride the blacks, in fact partially due to the people I was riding with just stuck on the blue runs all day.
