No one got any ideas about the body armour, it’s obviously a fox one but I can’t find a similar looking one on google images?

Hi All, thanks for all the responses.

I’m favoring the “decorative” aluminium sheet approach and will look into that.

wrightyson, I’m based in Wiltshire, but I think reason for the rsj is to hold the walls together as there are no cross members inside the extension (I may have got the terms wrong but I hope it makes sense) so the force from the roof would push the walls apart is my limited understanding.

Cheers Trail_Rat. I’ve got an old one of those pumps so I could just get the bracket as a spare part (not sure where the original bracket went)

I’m with them but fortunately have never had to use them, when I have spoken to them on the phone they have seemed quite knowledgeable and friendly.

Cheers for the comments guys, as Twisty said it was the rubber going off I was asking about.

I’ll just keep running them until I start to fall off more often.

Thanks for the response Rubber, I’ve had a look at some vids but they mostly just show it working and not how to get it working

For me, I had the 800, the bluetooth and Wi-Fi were big plus points, the wi-fi you can just finish a ride and as long as you are in a known wi-fi signal (home, pub etc for example) it will upload the ride details to your Garmin account automatically, no need to connect to PC or phone.

As Jamiep said, explorer version has a lot less training features and also doesn’t have Wi-Fi which the ‘Full’ 820 has

    These are the regs:

Batteries – lithium ion/polymer batteries contained in/connected to an electronic device

Each package must contain no more than four cells or two batteries installed in equipment. The maximum net quantity of cells or batteries is 5kg per package. Watt-hour rating must not exceed 20Wh per cell or 100Wh per battery. Each cell and battery must be of a type proven to meet the requirements of each test in the UN Manual of Tests and Criteria, Part III, Section 38.3. Batteries are subject to these tests irrespective of whether the cells of which they are composed have been so tested.

Cells and batteries must be manufactured under a quality management programme as specified in the International Civil Aviation Organization’s Technical Instructions for the Safe Transport of Dangerous Goods by Air. Cells or batteries that are defective for safety reasons, or that have been damaged, are forbidden. Any person preparing or offering cells or batteries with or in equipment for transport must receive adequate instruction on the requirements commensurate with their responsibilities. Cells and batteries must be protected against short circuit.

The equipment containing cells or batteries must be packed in strong rigid packaging and must be secured against movement within the outer packaging and packed to prevent accidental activation. The sender’s name and return address must be clearly visible on the outer packaging.
These items must be presented at a Post Office counter.

Lithium ion/polymer batteries sent in isolation are prohibited.

If anyone is interested I ended up getting a Megaboom from the Amazon Warehouse for a great price and have done a side by side test against a friends Bose Soundlink Mini II and while I didn’t get chance to listen to the detail in a suitable environment I tested them outside and the Megaboom was much louder and had more bass (as you’d expect from a physically bigger unit) and combined with the waterproof and rugged-ness of the Megaboom if you are after something for outdoor use the Megaboom is a clear winner.

I’ve been using the Megaboom quite a bit and the batter life is very impressive and I’m amazed at the sound from the unit, OK it’s not hi-fi stereo but what what I wanted it’s hard to fault.

Last night I picked up my wheel from Ryan and he has done a fantastic job.

He showed me the deflection mounted in his jig and explained what he’d done etc including computer charts of spoke tension before and after.

Plus he’s a genuinely nice chap to deal with.

I strongly recommend anyone looking for wheel building or maintenance in the Bristol area give him a call.

Bike wise I’ll be only taking one bike a 150mm full sus, so that’ll have to do.

I’ve never done this before and by the time I’d decided I wanted to give it a go only trio entries were left so a couple of work mates and me are doing it.

Also tagged a couple of extra days up there afterwards for some general riding in the area.

    Tire Lever

It has a nice rounded end to doesn’t score anything, remove the springs from the seals first.

Nice one, good timing with the disk brake upgrade, at the start of the season they were cable operated, but have made the switch now.

    Have fun riding it.

I’ve just bought the Renegade Elite and although I’ve only managed to get a couple of rides on it, it feels great to me, but I don’t have any frame of reference when it comes to road bikes!

I’ve taken it on a route that included road and dirt tracks and got 8 PBs on a 20 miles ride over my 29er hardtail.

As for the looks I guess it’s down to personal preference as I think it looks great

CFH, why do you believe I shouldn’t?

An RRP is a recommended price and any price on a item in a shop is an “invitation to treat”

If it’s the difference between a shop selling something and making slightly less profit or not selling at all why not sell it with a discount?

If I don’t buy a tin of beans in a supermarket someone will be along a few seconds later to buy it, is that the same for a £2k bike in a bike shop?

The reason for Evans is a tie in with Vitality and the only reason for the exclusive brand is the good reviews the model gets.
