My kids always sat at the table, but if you could have seen what my daughter ate, you’d wonder how she survived. I never forced her to eat if she didn’t want to, my memories of being forced to eat school dinners and then sicking it up on the plate are still strong!! I simply fed her what I knew she’d eat, so we had no arguments and peaceful mealtimes. Grown-up daughter now eats all sorts of stuff, much more than I do!

    You can get subscriptions: Linky

I think they still come via a shop as it says price “does not include home delivery service”. 🙁
And the same on the magazine subscriptions linky 🙁

That looks nice, will be great when you get the fitted carpets down, bare floors are so cold and noisy.

I remember doing a PP presentation as part of my HND – unfortunately I was away skiing in the two weeks we had to prepare it, but fortunately we worked in teams, so the other two prepared it. This meant I hadn’t even seen any of it, and I really hadn’t got my head around the subject either. Afterwards, the tutor said my bit was one of the best – why? – cos I put the notes down and looked at my audience whilst talking. I still have no idea wtf I waffled on about!

I love my Elna, but suspect you won’t get one for £150, so, sorry, I’m not a lot of help!

I love those soft close thingies, must get some for when I paint my kitchen cupboard doors very soon. Just got to find some of that ESP stuff – it does work on melamine doors doesn’t it?

I’ve just spent two weeks alternating between moving stuff from my flat 55 miles north to my fella’s house, and travelling 85 miles south visiting my dying father – he died the evening before I moved the last few bits out of my flat. That may have been the most stressful two weeks of my life 🙁

After 7 years of my son not sleeping through, I still wake up during the night – and he’s 32 now!

I’ve got the Trek Crossrip, (not the Elite, so a nice matt black) in a 56 – as 5′ 8″ female that may sound a bit big, but I do have 33″ inside leg measurement and I like big bikes. I especially like the high-ish front end, having not ridden drop bars before. Done a couple of thousand miles on it and love it.

In the boot of my car? Errr, no idea, not been in it for ages. Now if you’d asked what’s in my panniers…

We got told off in the Travelodge at Cambridge, cos it was the new one at Orchard Park and they didn’t want their new paint scratched! After pointing out to them that they had numerous signs in their car park telling us not to leave personal possessions in the car, they offered us the use of the laundry room to store them.
We had actually got them in unseen the first night, but got stopped as we were going out in the morning – doh!

I thought I couldn’t drink much any more, but the other night I did manage an extra two large glasses of wine after I’d finished the first bottle of red – it’s got nothing to do with being old I can assure you youngsters!

You really wouldn’t want to see me in a pair of those. But I actually I doubt they make them in my size, so you’re probably safe.

For some strange reason, this year I do not seem to have as much of a reaction to horse fly bites as I used to – which is perhaps as well, as I’ve lost count of the number of little fookers that have got me 🙁

After a failed first marriage, I waited another 17 years for my lovely man to appear – and he’d waited even longer for me! And it was a pic of me on a bike that he spotted. You can find love in your, ahemm, [whispers] 50s [/whispers].

    do you:

    a) have the wrong callipers? (‘road’ or ‘mountain’)
    b) have oil on your discs/pads
    c) both of the above

    ?
    No and no, and no!
They’ve been pretty rubbish from new, but I do now have some new pads to see if that makes any difference.

Mine are fairly rubbish – it’s almost embarrassing demonstrating emergency stops to groups of kids!

I get that too – I think it is because shoes aren’t wide enough, and the fact that loosening your straps helps implies that too.

School is for educating our children, it’s not a babysitting service!

    Exactly!
