I can’t get on with the Selle Italia saddles at all – Spesh are better for me, currently have a Lithia. I used to use a Jett, but find the Lithia has just that wee bit more “give” which suits me.
Edit: and don’t forget the Hoo Ha Ride Glide 🙂

Apparently it’s 90mph here now (Blackpool) but due to be at it’s worst at 9pm – going to be a bit rough on the Prom then!

my 10 year old daughter is supposed to be doing a Bikeability thing at school today – I wouldn’t fancy taking a group of 10 year olds out in today’s weather!

Had a group of 10 year olds out for Bikeability today in Blackpool, sheltered back streets weren’t too bad, and the wind blew me home afterwards.

Wish I was young enough for Bagpuss – it was The Woodentops, The Flowerpot Men and Andy Pandy for me.

Are all these gadgets for real??? Wing mirrors that dip to see the kerb? You’re joking surely? I’ve never heard of most of them – I thought electric windows were the bees knees, and my car’s not that old, I drive a T reg Astra 😀

I don’t think there’s any way of telling from the maps how bad/muddy the off-road sections will be. Could be anything from smooth tarmac to thick mud. But yes, in general they are a great way of getting to places – I know, I’ve helped build a few 🙂

I love my Sprayway All Day Rainpants – not cycle specific and need a strap round the ankle, but stretch fabric and so comfortable. 🙂

They do have something to do with the course they have to ski. The gates they have to go through are made up of alternate blue and red poles, sometimes set horizontally across the slope, and sometimes vertically. They have to pas between each pair, taking the shortest line, so sometimes it appears that the outermost pole isn’t part of the course.
Edit: I used to be a ski instructor and set slalom courses on dry ski slopes 🙂

We had Safestyle come and quote last week. We do have a lot of windows, including front bays that need 5 separate panels both upstairs and down, so the first price was £20,000. Then ‘cos of this month’s offer, that came down to £15k. Then the salesman said he had a special extra discount so could do it at £12k. Then he offered to ring his boss, who gave as a price of £9k, for that day only of course. We didn’t buy.
Why can’t they cut the bullsh1t and give us the £9k price straight away? Do they really think we’re that stupid?

Although I suppose I should try the shorter stem for a long ride and see if my sticking neck/shoulder issue arises or is fixed.

You said it yourself! You paid good money for expert advice – believe it rather than the bunch of numpties on here.

You’ve got to go fast to keep warm at this time of year.

Rubbish, you just increase the wind chill if you do that.

You speed around blind bends in the woods without a care – taking out pensioners, dogs, kids and bimbling sunday walkers.

Many a true word spoken in jest.

You’re all such wonderful driving gods – I do hope you take your crystal balls with you too, so you know what’s just out of sight or about to happen.
*wanders off, shaking head in disbelief at such ignorance of safe driving*

I hate this obsession with speed! Especially on country lanes – drivers thoughts are only about how fast they can go round the bends. How the flipping heck do they know what’s just round that bend? People do actually walk on country lanes, and I can tell you it’s pretty scary!
Next time you drive on a country lane, try imagining a pedestrian, or a horse rider, or a cyclist round the bend and think about how slowly you’d actually need to be going to not plough into them.
Don’t tell how much of a driving god you are – just think about what I’ve said at the next bend!

Remind me again why anyone else should pay for some middle class wannabes kids to go on a jolly to Japan?

Have to say that was my thought too.

A roundabout near my Mum’s has a brilliant system – left approach lane only for the first exit, all others use right lane, only moving to left as their exit approaches. Works perfectly, no cutting anyone up. Or rather it would work better, if they re-painted the damn markings!!
It’s the way forward, I tell you.

    No, no, no, not Anna.
(I may have a bit of a girl-crush there, she did put her arm around my shoulder when I met her once.)
