Absolutely definitely not cheap aftershave, and always remember less is more.

No snow and a beautiful sunny day in Blackpool.

Just what I was about to say – and the wind has dropped a bit too, not that it’ll stay that way.

There was a girl called “Cadence” in yesterday’s Bikeability group – how apt!

Out the other day, sunny, bit windy but not that cold, and I pass a very hairy German Shepherd wearing a dog coat – why???

Lifestyle?? My Mondeo suited my lifestyle, so 1.8TD did 55mpg overall, now have a VW Caddy Maxi, (not sure it’s an estate, looks more like a hearse!) diesel 1.6 does about 45mpg. Maybe older diesels were more economical with their use of fuel?
Never any bikes on the roof, and not yet had the canoe and kayak on the roof of the Caddy.

I do wish I hadn’t looked at this thread, I am quite prone to nightmares…

Everyone says buy clothes for 3 months and older. I had to go out and buy things to fit my newborns, so don’t ignore that sizing!

Oh, boo! That’ll be my DD cancelled too then 🙁

I don’t get it – we British are good at queuing generally, but put us in cars and then no-one can wait in a queue. (Obviously I exclude myself from that last statement.)

The extended wear (ie, leave in all day and night for a month) lenses are much, much more comfortable as they do not dry out.

Definitely try and do S – N on the Hebs, we made the mistake of doing some the other way. I think my other half got the message I’d had enough of the headwind and rain all day when I stopped and cried in the middle of the road. It just happened to be the one night when we could stop in a hotel. It was £110 very well spent!!
I was somewhat disappointed with Horgabost to be honest, very busy, too busy for my liking. Some of the other campsites we used were almost empty, indeed on one I think we were the only people there.

Cold here tonight too, apparently it’s going down to -1. I may still cycle in the morning.

I was 47 when I got my first passport – which reminds me, it’s run out, need to get a new one!!

I bought a Lenovo one for £149 a few months ago – seems ok to me, does what I want it to.

Ooh, thanks! It looks brill, even sitting indoors, by the Fylde coast.

Chartwell green (from linky in op) for that touch of class. White plastic looks almost as cheap as fake plastic wood.
Edit: with silver/chrome door furniture obviously.

I have been using a Vaude Norssken, which is not bad, but just treated myself to an Exped Synmat in the long/wide flavour, as I found the Norssken a little narrow. They pack up very small, and they are both nice and thick, so for an old woman like me, fairly comfortable. I cannot sleep on the thin ones!

Some very interesting opinions, but I can’t help but think that we have to remember that the majority of fat people don’t want to be fat, and if losing weight was simple, there’d be no fat people.

Can I ask why you’re doing your son’s homework? Surely the idea is it’s his homework?

Just remembered, I had a ski lesson with Martin Bell on a dry ski slope. Oh, and my ex’s brother used to draw for 2000AD – not sure that he’s famous though!

As a size 8, I do sometimes buy men’s walking boots/shoes, usually Salomon, and I think the men’s come up a teeny bit bigger than the women’s. It could all be in the mind though…

What’s wrong with it just being carrot and parsnip? Too much spoiling of flavours these days with extra stuff added to be “clever”.

Just a thought, but can you send photo messages (MMS)? Sometimes I think you have to get the phone set up to do that, so may also affect sending pics to FB?

I have had lunch with Edwina Curry, and also had her hands around my waist, she apparently thought I looked slim in my Victorian style costume. This was of course many years ago when not only was I lot slimmer, but also she was our local MP.
Oh, and Joanna Rowsell has leaned on my bicycle 🙂

I seem to have given up, and bought some new cycling kit from Fat Lad at the Back – nice big sizes 😀

BTW, their merino baselayers are good, bought three this year – but at half price!! Interesting to hear the waterproofs are ok, Pinkster.

Bought some of their clothing – when it’s heavily reduced and cheap – and it’s been fine. Not tried their rucksacks though, and I wouldn’t expect their waterproofs to be breathable, so be selective in what you buy.

Narrow feet = Startrite and an empty wallet. Both my kids had narrow feet, C or D width, Clarkes only cater for fat feet! Although even Startrite struggled when my son needed an adult size 8 in a C fitting.

If you lived in Blackpool, would you go out on New Year’s Eve??
Early night for us, as usual

We really are old, sad, boring, friendless bastards, aren’t we?

    Yeah, and proud of it!

There’s nothing scares the salesmen more than a fifty-something year old woman who actually knows quite a bit about computers – me 😀
They may make one attempt at trying to sell me something, but soon shut when I tell them exactly why I don’t need it.

You don’t necessarily need a rack to be disk-brake compatible – I’ve had a couple of different ones on my cx bike that weren’t made for disk brakes.

I once had a similar brick chimney breast and went for the simple option – a large tin of white emulsion, very pleased with the finished look.
