I think you may be struggling to get a pocket sprung mattress for less than £400. You need to go and lie on some to see how firm you want, or don’t want as the case may be.

I was going to say if you go to Holkham beach, beware of overdressing, but it appears it is no longer a naturist beach. I got quite a surprise walking the coast path many years ago!

We voted differently, but decided it doesn’t matter cos we just cancel each other out.

If we’re talking tummy buttons, I thought everyone was an inny unless they are pregnant?

Ah, I thought the OP was referring to a more, err, intimate part of the female anatomy. But then you guys won’t have been reading all about the saddle sores and swollen bits that female cyclists suffer…

I’m currently hoping my carbon full suss goes for a lot more than the start price I’ve put on it – and now hoping there’s no football on Friday evening, although being a lady’s bike, that shouldn’t be an issue for potential bidders.

reduce the amount of time that small children are on the car park and the associated risk of an accident.

Small children cause accidents? Maybe if small children are that dangerous we shouldn’t allow them in car parks?

Just the tyres? I’ve washed a whole bike in the bath.

I’m guessing that is a soft reset – if it doesn’t work, then there should be a hard reset that they don’t usually put in manuals. At least that’s what I found with my Edge 800 a few years ago – it’s worked beautifully ever since 🙂

I expect you can do a hard reset on it – google it, someone will know how.

It’s connected via hdmi cable, but looking at that chart, I’m sitting about 12 feet away from our 24″ telly, so maybe I won’t actually be able to see any difference! Doesn’t really matter, I was just wondering what the difference was, very little it seems! And of course, it’s all the same rubbish programmes anyway…

The tv is about a year old, is HD, has a freeview receiver but we have a poor signal where we live, therefore we bought a freesat receiver.

What did you win? A new ipad? Or just a warm fluffy feeling of superiority?

I’ve worn contact lenses for over 20 years. I’ve been wearing the extended wear type for about 6 years, and leave them in continuously for a month (and a lot more, depending on when I remember to change them). I found the monthlies got really, really dry by the end of a day, but the extended wear are much more “jelly-like” and don’t dry out at all!
I didn’t have a check up for probably about 14 years, but a recent one showed my eyes are fine 🙂

You can buy gripper elastic – although I’m not sure where from. That would also involve sewing it on with a machine that does a stretch stitch.
Edit: a quick google throws up lots of suppliers.

I tried a Vivoactive, but not happy with the gps tracking – it only records data at 5 – 7 second intervals, so each time you stop, it can be up to 7 seconds before it records again, very inaccurate compared to a 1-second-recording gps.

I just can’t imagine why anyone would want to waste so much of their life sitting in a car, but then it may be that I think quality of life is more important then money.

Awwww, how cute are they? I have no idea for a name though, other than to suggest a timeless, simple but classy one like Peter, not so common these days either. (I may of course have already made use of this name in my immediate family)

Outdoor kit, includes camping kit, right? In that case, it has to be my porta-potti 😀 Obviously not when cycle touring though 🙁

It’s clearly nothing to do with how young or fit you are – I can still get the palms of my hands flat on the floor, and I’m late fifties, and a few stone overweight 😀

Wake them up to feed?? Never heard such twaddle!! And I am so pleased I was able to breastfeed both of mine, I couldn’t be doing with all that fuss and palaver – and expense.

We moved four weeks ago from a tiny patch of mostly bare muddy lawn (thanks, chickens!) to a rather larger front and back garden that meant a purchase of a petrol mower, two cuts already and needs another – just a shame it’s not quite big enough to justify a ride-on mower 🙁

We got overtaken and undertaken on the M6 by some of those Dumball Rally people last year – I did phone the police about the ones racing down the hardshoulder – including their fancy breakdown truck. Don’t understand why they seem to be allowed to race on public roads?

Another vote for the VW Caddy Maxi – my 95 year old mum can get in it, and it’s got loads of space.

The car salesman who spoke only to my father when I was looking for a new car got told exactly why I wouldn’t buy a car from him.

Ah, I see you’re in Birmingham, I’m on the Fylde coast, I was going to offer a lesson as I’ve taught hundreds of adults to ride – you’d never believe how many can’t. Bit too far away from you unfortunately.
If you can find a bike to borrow for her to try, don’t even worry about taking the pedals off, just put the seat very low and get her to “scoot” along with her feet, trying to see how long she can balance for. Once she can balance, she can pedal! Oh, and always the first thing to do is get used to the brakes, so scoot, brake, scoot, brake, repeat.
If she has learnt before, no matter how long ago, you’ll probably find it all comes back very quickly.

    Good luck to her 🙂

I’ve always thought it very odd that people don’t take their lanyards/passes off when they leave work – surely they flap around in the wind and get very annoying?

Hmmm, not sure, I think there’s a £10 note and two or three pound coins, but it’s been a few weeks since I opened my purse – I have a man to pay for things 🙂

    How about this – Sundance

I’ve got the Sierra, which is much the same, just a bit longer, great big cockpit, so easy to get in and to fall out of, not that I’ve ever managed to tip it over (although I don’t do water with lumps in).

Doh! Just realised this is an old thread – what a plonker I am…

Although at the same time; it’s a good reason to have a car you don’t really care much for. I don’t know why the UK is so car obsessed.

    Well said Sir.
