The Lanc is now mended, it had been broken for just over a year. We moved from Blackpool earlier this year so won’t see the air show, but we do live very close to Coningsby, so cycled over a couple of weeks ago to see the Lanc’s first flight this year.

Advice? Don’t!

You want some more contradictory advice? Don’t faff around with bottles, just breastfeed, whilst it can take a few days to get the hang of it, (for both mother and baby) once mastered, it’s just so simple – and of course free.

And some more? Don’t waste money on disposable nappies, except on holidays. Just bung dirty cloth ones in a bucket with whatever they sell these days to soak them in, and once bucket is full bung straight in washing machine. Using a disposable liner means you can tip the solids straight down the loo before bucket-ing the nappy.

And the final piece of advice – do whatever you want!! Ignore everyone else!

Even when one has to sink to the absolute depths and drink common tea, still no milk.

I love my smartwool merino ultra light socks, but boy are they hard to get on, they’re so tight round the top I struggle to get them round my heels.

I think having a destination/reason for a bike ride helps, and definitely ice cream stops – bribery works every time 🙂
Or how about “we want to go to (insert destination here) but we can only get there by bike” – you may need to stick to off-road routes to get away with this one though.

Brilliant, puts my past two or three week wanderings by bike to shame.

As I understand it, all state schoolchildren do the same number of days at school, so if your kids are still at school now, they’ll have longer hols at other times, it all evens out.

We seem to have some on the East coast, although we did kill loads of ants a couple of weeks ago, so hopefully not too many.

I was reading Dennis Wheatley at that age, but I guess he’s really old-fashioned now.

As for time, I should have plenty, but spending a lot of it travelling over to my late mother’s house, getting it cleared out ready to sell.

Still can’t decide whether to have a crack at it myself, only thing is the shed should be ready next week, so not much time, and being new to this area, don’t yet know where best builders merchants are for stuff.

How very dare you assume I can’t do it myself?? Time is the main reason for getting someone else, so just checking the price really.

Bought pastry? It’s not good, not good at all, or maybe my pastry is just superb? My secret is make it in the Kenwood Chef, and handle as little as possible. Use as little flour as possible for rolling out.

I’ve been looking on t’interweb and seen a few made of pvc piping, it would only need to be long enough for the crosspieces to support just in front and behind the cockpit of my kayak, with it upside down, and the canoe below on more cross supports. Going to check out the pipe tomorrow and see what we think of it’s rigidity. I thought it’d be simpler than making a wooden rack for them.

The pipe cutting tool looks good, but as my hands are a bit old and hurty and don’t grip awfully well, will I find it too hard to get a good grip on it? Does it need squeezing hard?

None of our poundsies are spent via Barclaycard.

I wouldn’t risk it, and lycra dries quickly anyway. In fact just put it on damp, it’ll be dry before you get to the end of the road!

We sold and bought a few months ago, we neither gave any proof of finance nor requested any from our buyer, at the time of making and accepting offers. I had no idea that happened these days.
