The lower oil is just for lubrication as far as I know. I wouldn’t add loads more but 10ml to 5ml is nothing.

The volume you really need to take care with is that in the tubes themselves when you strip and rebuild

Had both – deffo prefer Vaults although watch you never slip on the pedal as they will rip your legs

I fitted the same a couple of weeks ago and took the bolts off a triple chainset that I had. Not sure the size but they were raceface ones

I am 5.10 so wondering whether a large woudl be a better fit. Will go and sit on one in locallish shop at stanstead abbots to see what sizing is like.

Mac – some general close up pics would be great

I would be trf across all my current stuff on my Enduro. so 26″ dropouts woudl be best

Saw this on Ebay earlier – how did you find riding it and size wise what are they like?

Have you got anymore pics so I can have a closer look?

I go round and round with the same idea in my head as well. I have a 2010 Enduro that I built up with Raceface, Renthal, Hope etc etc

If I was to go down this route I would buy frame, forks and wheels but even then you still talking big money and would you even notice the difference!!

By the why what is it with the new geometry that is so better than say a 2010 bike. I could stick a angle bush in the rear shock?

    Sorry for hijack!

Thanks for the comments – I was looking at purchasing 2nd hand and probably a medium size as I am 5’10”.

Might pop down to one of the shops and take a look to see what they are like

Spitfire is probably more my type of riding TBH. But depends on what comes up 2nd hand

    Cheers

I purchased a 530d msport touring a few years back and have always paid for the extended warranty each year and have always got my money’s worth each year.

These are not bullet proof by any means. It has only let me down once but the amount of oil leaks, heated rear window not working, gearbox leaks, etc etc over 4 years has been quite incredible. I have probably had about 6k worth of warranty work in that period

Engine in 330d is the same as mine 3 litre 6 cylinder single turbo. Only the 535d or 335d have twin turbos

I only do 10k per year so next time round would probably get a petrol car

I keep toying with the idea of going to 650b and swap the parts over as I have some decent kit.

This would amount to frame, forks and wheels. Priced up buying something 2nd hand the lost based on the frame I am after would mean shelling out around £1500 which frankly doesn’t really justify it for me.

I will stick to my 26″ Enduro and if it ever breaks then will think about swapping, until then long live 26″ frames!!

Surely it’s the ‘bike show in that london’?

Why has this become a saying – that London, That There London. Someone I know from Nottingham said this too couldn’t work out why

Anyway back to topic- been once wouldnt again. You better off j browsing the internet

Cheap Polar multisport watch here – pretty much use it for everything I do in the gym, outside etc. Captures HR with the strap and can upload to PolarFlow to see data

Depends on what you want to capture and use it for. For me it was primarily as a running watch to target specific HR zones and for everything else as an indication of calories burnt

Haven’t noticed any difference in riding tubeless at all. Other than the usual no punctures. I did wonder what all the fuss was when I first converted then changed tyres after about a year and pulled about 10 thorns out of each which I hadn’t even noticed

So for me its not getting punctures – pure and simple

I have to say that lots of these submissions aren’t ‘odd’ at all. I think some people read the title as ‘car porn what I like’

Exactly – Opal Manta GTE whats odd about that? Any Audi, Renault, Citroen all common cars bar a few of the early 70’s Citroen like the SM for example. Maybe a few of the Renault V6 are rare yes not exactly odd through!!

Started riding Motorbikes back in 1995, purchased a Honda CB750 K all streetfightered up cut my teeth on that and then went into sportsbikes

    Honda CB750K
    Kawasaki ZX6R G1
    Honda Fireblade 929RRY
    Suzuki GSXR1000 K4
Kawasaki ZX10R – 05 Model. The nutter one. Loved that bike. trackdays, Snetterton 170mph down the straights.
KTM RC8R – never really gelled with it.
Ducati Panigale 1199 – loved it very unreliable
Current – Aprilia RSV4 Factory – Ohlins and V4 lovliness

I’ve got a set of Dainese trail skins for sale. They’re good pads, they just never fitted me particularly well (might have just needed more use to soften them up). Yours for a tenner if you want them. They’re in VGC and I’ll even wash them.

I might be interested in these – what size are they?

    Cheers

    Hi

In terms of advanced model I would look at the cheapest as I am after just the frame. The forks and wheels would be to keep me going until I sort out better set later down the line

Will keep a lookout for a carbon frame…norco sight looks good as well and they won’t honour warranty on frames built with 150mm

Thanks for all the comments – it is not about the weight to be honest just fancy a carbon frame.

I did see that is USA they offer a Trance Advanced SX with 160mm from factory so not sure why they didn’t do the same here .

I don’t believe that the Advanced frames would be any different either between SX and normal.

Unless they had a load of Advanced SX failures – this bike would seem the optimal build for me.

Could always stick a set of 150mm in there and see?

    Thanks

Funniest post I have read for ages on here

    Thanks to Deviant
Some very po faced and serious (boring) cyclists on here.

Get a test ride, if you can’t then take a punt….that’s the joy of bikes, they all ride differently.
So what if the top tube is slightly short….fit a 5mm longer stem and move the saddle back another 5mm…..there you go, you’ve just gained 10mm more TT.

Some of the comments….’l only ride horst link’…..’l used CAD to superimpose the geometry over my old bike’…..jesus wept, you guys are missing out….seriously.

There are so many good bikes and so little time (and money) to own them all!…..i currently have a DW/maestro but I’ve had linkage driven single pivot….I’d like to try Horst….I’d like to try VPP….I’d like to try an Orange-5 etc

This thread has descended into another example of why I don’t ride with others and am loathe to call myself a MTBer, as a group we really are a sad sad bunch.

Titanium Breitling here wear it as a daily and never had any problems. Servicing costs are high but only need doing every 3 odd years.

Horses for courses really – everyone is different and have different hobbies/passions etc.. Its what makes us Human.

Most of my mates look at my MTB and go why does it cost so much when you can get an Asda special… granted they are true.. you can still only go so fast etc etc but it wont ride as well blah blah at which point we just carry on drinking and move on to teh next topic

Same for watches,, same for most hobbies.. there is always a cheaper alternative bit of kit which gives you the same if not slightly less performance that what you have got but if you like what you have then thats all you ever need to please

I picked up a Toshiba Camileo X-sports for £80 on ebat.. brand new, A blatant gopro rip off. Seems like Toshiba wanted to get in on the action, didnt get much luck so there seems to be a few about on ebay, amazon etc going cheap.

In terms of mounts, there are loads in the box, helmet, handlebars etc. Only difference being in teh buckle mounts where the Toshiba ones doent fit Go Pro ones so I have bought a few cheap buckle mounts om ebay.

Footage taken so far looks good

    Got it thanks

I have had the forks about a year so around 150 odd hours at most. So will change lowers and uppers oil..

The service kit is the one that comes with new forks.. does this contain all the seals needed? there are a fair few o-rings in there hence my question whether it is necessary to do the full seal change when I am not losing air.

I guess I dont want to take it all apart to find that the seals I have in the packet arent what I need!!

Thats a good idea – will move the grips (lockons) and ride leisurely up the road so see what it feels like.

If it feels ok still feel a cheap set of bars might be the way to go

Mega Python vs Gatoroid – with Debbie Gibson and Tiffany

Bled it this morning- doesnt seem to be much difference to be honest.

Can live with it as I dotn suspect a really slow rebound speed is any good if it takes seconds

I will have a look online on Youtube to see whether there are any videos of what the difference should be like just in case there is something wrong with mine
