I had to use some force to get rear wheel sit properly in drop outs first time, because of too thick surface of lacguer. Now rear wheel is easy to remove or put back.

Trashed Zee, perhaps too short chain in FS bike ???? It’s short cage and if you don’t check needed chain lenght properly it will thrash, when damper bottoms out.

Soon available ? I have an idea to build on a hardtail either steel evo frame or carbon evo frame even I have weak back. I want to see how my body accept riding a hardtail. Ti verson is my dream, but because of my weak back and thin wallet it is not option.

Thank you for your thoughts. I have also Merlin’s Rock Lobster 853 and I know how “springy” it is. It is not my first choice for techical trails. So Í save my money and not any more fancy about Ti long fork bikes.

I had -09 green Meta (the best color ever), which cracked as typical. I bought Turner 5 Spot -09 frame (got it half price) and build it with new parts. After long warranty process I got new -11 Meta frame and built it with new and old parts. I have to admit that like more my Meta than Turner.

But I would stay away from -09 Meta frames.

In our mtb group oldest bloke is far over 60 years and he is one of the best biker in our group. We mainly ride technical (rocky and rooty) single tracks. I am now 43 y. and I hope, that I still have at least 20 y left in my mtb career.

Metas are great bikes, but have all too much quility issues at least in 2009
models. My frame has also a crack in place where all 2009 Metas will brake in time I suppose. (top tube/seat tube weld)
Warranty case has now taken four weeks and and they said from Merlin
that it can take 3-6 weeks to get solution. I would never buy a second
hand 2009 Meta. Hopefully 2010 Metas are different.

Me too. My Rock Lobster is my winter bike. Nice skinny tubes and nice
red colour, but mine is newer batch without that built in seat clamp, pity. It is more comfortable frame than my previous alu ht, so i can definitely feel the steel feel. (Build with same components and wheels/tires).

Paint chips, but not from every item hit. With my frame came little paint
bottle, so my frame is like new.

I must say, that i considered just to buy Cotic Soul, because of possibility to use burlier tires and longer forks. But would Soul be better after all? I decided not to spent alot of cash to try it, so my Rock Lobster stays with me as long as it last.
