I’m pretty sure I am getting close to the holy grail of not wanting any more bikes.

HT for winter, mucking about on and general fun and frolics (just built it up)
Short travel FS for all round riding (frame turns up tomorrow woohoo!)
Long travel FS for uplift days, dh and big jumps and drops
24″ Jump bike for pump track, dirt jumps and quick blasts round the village
Retro hack bike with slicks for fitness training when the south downs is a mudfest. Also for when injured on the turbo trainer.

Yep 5 is the magic number. I hope……

Edit: Long travel FS needs a coil shock, jump bike needs new forks and the short travel FS needs lots of light shiny bits. I may have the right number, but never happy with the parts *sigh*

Best way i’ve found with doubles is to follow someone in to find out how fast to go. The go a tad faster and stay loose :D

It’s funny how video always makes things look much smaller than they actually are. I thought ‘no problem, i’d clear that’ when in reality I’d have brown shorts the first time I tried it.

Lovely colour Nickhead. I build up a dialled alpine a few days ago, but am more excited about the chumba!

how much crack can you make from coke, and does it make financial sense if you discount the additional addictive qualities of crack over base?

Thinking of starting a new business?

So what kind of arse/sit bones do they fit? I have a charge spoon and find it ok, not the bees knees, but better than the specialized bg fit 143, which was like sitting on a brick.

Thinking of trying the 130 bg fit or one of these….

The scott. Bestest frame that can be upgraded in future. The one above.

Then spend the rest of the cash on a super pimp light wheelset.

Out of interest, have you been on or considered going on a Skills course from the point of view of trying to reduce the number of stacks you have?

    No.

After 2 dislocated shoulders and one mangled collarbone in 12 months, I won’t ride big jumps or dh without it.

It has some scratches and chips and a fair bit of chainslap, but nothing that effects the structural integrity of the frame.

I’d want £90 inc postage for it

I have an NS surge and it is brilliant, the most fun frame I have owned. On singletrack and downhill it was supreme. Unfortunately I am just too damm tall to get away with riding a 15.5 inch bike for xc (even with a 450mm post!) I used it for everything and it is a brilliant all rounder if you are not 6’3 with long legs

I will be stripping her down tomorrow, ready for sale, so if you are interested I can send you some pics.

I like Montecriso’s and Upmanns, as they are smooth and have great flavour. I find Cohibas and Romeo Y Julieta’s a tad too harsh.

I enjoy a cigar about once a year nowadays :)

I have a surge and love it, too bad it’s a touch to small. Lovely bike, only thing is the bars look a bit high?

Renthal on both bikes, 780 on the full susser (mini dh type thing) 760 on the hardtail (xc and general mucking about)

They are a bit too wide for twisty singletrack, but I don’t care as it is much more fun.

    6’3 with monkey arms

Dialled alpine frame turning up soon and having my x-ray in a couple of weeks, meaning I can ride the new steed!

Sounds good to me! Interested why it wouldn’t jump well, i’m guessing because of the long wheelbase?

Part of the reason I went with it is due to increased standover clearance compared to the bfe and pig etc

climbing is about seat angle & chainstay & stem length more than head angle.

I see Tony Wilson in Chichester. Maybe a bit far, but if you can’t find anyone decent in Southhampton, then he is definitely worth going to.

Any more questions, just let me know.

Sorry, reduced is putting it back in the socket. Unfortunately the longer it is out for, the less chance there is of being able to strengthen the surrounding muscles of the rotator cuff to hold it stable. Also by the sound of things you may well have torn ligaments in the shoulder.

You can also ice the shoulder which will help.

I’d go back to the hospital and badger them for really strong pain killers (if they didn’t give you a stack already) but also ask them lots of questions about recovery time, surgery etc.

If you are in the south I can give you the details of my physio or maybe post up and ask if anyone knows a shoulder specialist in your area.

My favorite frame ever is the ns surge which has a 67 deg head angle and a 71ish st angle. Absolute riot and still climbs pretty well.

I wouldn’t want anything slacker than about 65 if I was doing a reasonable amount of climbing

I’ve done it twice now and it was my left shoulder and I’m left handed. The best advice I can give you is find a physio who specializes in shoulders.

How long was it out for and did you have to have it reduced?

Best thing for the next few weeks is to keep it as still as possible to allow the capsule to shrink. Then go and see a physio and start rehab.

I have so far managed to avoid surgery, but ride with a compression top with shoulder pads just in case.

will have a high roller on the front and fastrak on the back.

Hopefully the combo of this and a deeper lower cup will do the job.

    @rootes1

make the bike more stable at speed.

Like the look of the works components one, but i’m looking for a cheapo version like the crown race idea or a headset with a large lower cup.

edit: cheers jameso will have a search for the one 1 and ck ones :-)

I had this chronically when i used to run. Best thing you can do is hammer the hell out of it with a foam roller and stretch it. A foam roller only costs 10 quid, but will cause you a world of pain…….

Having a proper dh bike for racing makes sense as every second counts.

Unless you live reasonably near to one of the uplifts in the uk, I don’t think it’s the best option. If you can afford one, great go for it, but a shorter travel bike that you can pedal uphill will do the job almost as well and would probably be more fun for 95% of the tracks in the uk.

It’s the internet, the device that allows people to paint a thin veneer over what they would never say in public compared to what they feel the need to say anonymously by hiding behind a username and fake persona.

sums up quite a few on here, I wonder why this forum attracts so many idiots?
