I don’t know much about making music but I know what sounds good. Needs some dirty synths in there, compression and more filth as per Omar. Oh and more bass!

    Bit like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h2NJzT-19lE&feature=related

Always rode bikes as a kid. I got my first mountain bike at about 11, an apollo :-)

An old friend of the family took me out on a ride, and I was hooked. I used to buy mbuk and dream of having suspension forks and a tioga disk drive (back in 92-93) My hero’s were John T and JMC.

When I was 14-15, I started hanging out with older kids who were into pot smoking and going to parties. My bike was then only used for going to friends houses to smoke pot, and to go to parties…… At the age of 17 the bike was put away for 13 years.

Last year I randomly happened to go on a ride with an old friend (who was riding an apollo) After the first downhill, we were both grinning like kids on our bmx’s again :D I’ve been hooked ever since.

I can’t imagine it would ride that well with 160mm forks. I think 130-140mm would be best.

I agree, with a hardtail you get bounced about more so it’s nice to be able to drop the saddle and lower you centre of gravity to suck up the bumps.

Chumba usa are in the shit in terms of Customer service (great bikes though), but si is a top bloke and I would have no qualms about buying anything from him.

I expect to see some more pictures of it in the near future, but it’ll be fitted with full mud guards and racks no doubt.

    When are we going touring?

Yours looks a nice purposeful build – I could sort of fancy an automatic post on mine but don’t really fancy the weight penalty..

The damm thing weighs a ton, whats a few hundred grammes!

I concur, best hardtail ever. Only one I haven’t ridden that I would like to try is the slackline. Can’t see it being better though.

Thats good that you couldn’t give a toss as fwiw I think it is shit, you are trying to turn a style of bike into something it wasn’t designed for.

Cheers for the compliment, glad you like it.

At 6ft1 no chance. Get an ns surge, slackline or bfe and an adjustable fork.

Most fun bike I’ve ever ridden :D

It was a bit rubbish at 150mm so winding it in a bit made the handling better. I wasn’t convinced by the dropper to begin with, but now I’m sold. manualling and bunnyhopping everything and lots of drifting round corners 8)

Inviting feedback? I posted it up because I like it and it is fun to ride. Couldn’t give a toss if you or anyone else doesn’t.

Oh my valve logos are not matched up and it has long cables. Boo f*cking hoo.

DTF is my hero. From bmx to tourers. I care deeply what he thinks.

Your forks have too much travel, the mincetastic chain device should be reserved for xc bikes only and you should learn to ride technical stuff without the need for a dropper seatpost.

All in all it could do with some work. I think you’d be more suited to a touring bike by the looks of things!

LMAO  What would you recommend gramps, I’m out of touch with the tourer market these days :P

Better than the rubbish some people eat, but still could be better.

bowl of cornflake – eggs and veg + EVOO (can have porridge as well)

apple and pear – apple + small handful of nuts

mixed bean salad, cucumber, tomato, sweetcorn, onion, garlic and tin of mackeral.

orange – ( protein shake + bit of peanut butter or nuts + spinach etc)

large grill pork chop – change to chicken
roast parsnip, butternut squash, carrot, broccoli and garlic.

is it good or bad, am i missing anything nutritional.

Depends what your goals are. I’d up protein and healthy fat and cut out cornflakes and most of the fruit as a start.

I thought it was 23″ a minute ago?

Ive just seen some pictures of them and they look like a great jump/play bike, but not one for doing all day rides with lots of climbing involved

I was thinking of buying one and spoke to Dan Stanton about the sizing. He told me it is 24″ virtual. That they haven’t change it on the site is a mistake IMO.

Holy mother of god, ‘big hitters?’ where you all picked on at school and secretly craved to be popular?

Anyone who considers themselves a ‘big hitter’ needs a slap. Anyone who talks about other people being ‘big hitters’ need to take their nose out of said persons arse.

And now for a video of video of a cat talking in tongues.

Very short chainstays, short top tubes etc

Slackline has a 24″ virtual top tube, not short for an 18″.

The Slackline and the BFe are the same weight – heavy!

Why don’t you recommend something then? Writing negative shite about other peoples bikes is all good and well, but after a while it gets old.
Try something new for a change, you never know people might think you are actually more than a grumpy old **** (insert appropriate smiley)

Contrast is the reason white bikes are harder to photograph. Expose for the white and then stop down a touch + have your bike against something a bit brighter.

    Bike looks pretty good.

Owned an Alpine and ridden the bfe. The alpine is better downhill, the bfe is better all-rounder.

    I’m down to 4 now.

Do it all HT – Evil Sovereign
Do it all FS – Chumba XCL
    Jump bike – DMR rhythm
Hack/winter/pub bike – Old Diamond Back Ascent with slicks

They all get ridden, no garage queens.

As above, simply choose roughly Whatever was fashionable in DH a few years back. isn’t the same true of any “All-mountain” product choice?

    Pretty much.
