superstar excel and sunline thick grips. Cannot stand thin grips.

But does it ride like that because it’s steel? Could an alu Sov do the same job and weigh far less?

I very much doubt it. It would be even harsher and still weigh loads.

Looks fun 🙂 I’d want a dropper post, but then I have been spoiled by riding one for the last few months.

New bars and stem and she’ll be good to go.

Performance wise, the only thing I would change is wheels, stem and bars. If you have forks and brakes already, might as well stick them on also.

Edit: Have just realised its a comp. Change the shock first.

Right, you buggers have broken my will. Normally only visit post ride. I’m off for a meal at lunchtime.

I exercise because I love it and it is fun. Getting fit is a byproduct. Also, if I don’t, I turn into a miserable git and I feel like a sack of shite.

I think it would take about 15 quids worth of Macdonalds to fill me up. As I usually spend about 7 quid, no chance of leaving anything. I’m usually rooting around for an extra chip, like a pig rooting for truffles 😀

The best thing you can do is buy an adjustable travel fork and have a play around with what suits YOU best. Horses for courses, everyone is different.

Shite. My shoulder is still knackered, so I’ve been out of the gym for a month. I’ve still got an nagging cough and cold, so no riding for the past week. Roll on February……….

They’ve rolled that turd in glitter haven’t they?

Took the words right out of my mouth. You would have to pay me to ride it.

Mine has also squashed in the middle. I will be purchasing the one above (the grid) or this one http://www.escapefitness.com/foam-roller-short.html which has be recommended by a guy I know who is a bodybuilder. He has used it for 2 years without it deforming, and is not exactly light.

Sit down rider? I’m not having a go, but I’m guessing you didn’t spend to much time on rigid bikes.

I stand 99% of the time when cornering. 1% is probably when I have run out of carbs and am half dead!

I was about to type something inappropriate, but then remembered it is STW.

Rachel is cute, but no Niki Gudex.

I started off with a 24″ dj bike. I’ve recently moved on to a 20″ and am loving it. Probably could have jumped straight on a 20″ as I had no trouble adjusting to either.

As you are a wagon wheel rider, I’d probably go with a 24″ 😉

75 degree head angle and 20″ wheels are not very forgiving.

I feel a bit sorry for them in terms of the new bike. The fury has a face only a mother could love 😆

On the plus side I’d imagine they will have a lot more support.

Look Brilliant. I’d live in it, especially if was near to some great trails.

Yes it has transformed my trail riding. At 6’3 with a 35 inch inside leg, I have to have the saddle so high to get correct pedaling efficiency (I like a slightly smaller frame). Dropping the saddle even an inch or two allows me to corner, pump, jump and manual and hell of a lot easier.

If you have two wheels on the ground most of the time and do not constantly mess about on the bike, I doubt the benefit would be as much. For someone lanky like me, who rides his bike like a bmx, it is great 😀

I subscribe to kaesae’s method. Boot them in the face 🙂

If any dog came towards me with teeth gnashing it would probably get an am41 in the chops. If it bit me on the arse (depending on the size of the dog) I would probably use my pump as a nightstick.

And before the sanctimonious, holier-than-thou chip in, I am an animal lover of all kinds (except in the cases of those who attack me, then it is a dog eat dog situation)

Depends how good you are. A smooth rider could probably do 10ft drops on it. A heavy oaf could probably break it on a 5ft drop.

If you did all the work with a bunch of volunteers and a cheap digger, how much do you think it would cost?

If you had a sticky with those topics in, the whole bike section of the forum would be made redundant.

I doubt that somehow. A good percentage of posters have no interest in what bike should I buy, and what tyres should I buy. Having an faq and a few bits that get asked every week would help out beginners, and leave the bike forum free from constant repetition.

Perhaps even just a sticky about how to use the search function effectively for beginners?

I can’t see anything about what bike should I buy, what tyres for winter and other useful tips for beginners.

    Use the search function!

Use it all the time, as you can’t really get the most out of this site without it 😉

Having an Faq and few other bits that get asked a million times each week would be no bad thing IMO.

Slackline for me also. It’s the only frame I’d swap my sovereign for.

Full suss it would be the blur trc. If they make an ally version I will get one at some point. Carbon pffft. Overpriced biros.

I own a paramo smock. One of the best bits of kit I have ever bought. Windproof, shower resistant and a very good level of breathability.

2011, not a clue. I have no desire to know either. This year I have ridden round the village on my new bmx. Pulled a couple of little manuals and managed not to go over the bars when attempting to bunny hop. Good start to the years riding.
