Don’t know about the defy phones but I’m with Giffgaff and they are very good. Each month I get a statement to say how much I would have paid on a pay as you go tarrif and they recommend which “goodie bag” to buy each month. Managed to get my wife on it so we both got £5 extra credit and free calls to each other.
That wiki article is cool. Just discovered the following…

We had a long chat with a broker attached to the estate agents dealing with our house. We fine tuned our requirements with him (ie 30 year repayment rather than 25 etc) then tried to match his best quote. In the end First Direct came up better and he said he couldn’t match it. He tried convincing me that paying him money would mean we didn’t have to do much paper work but no deal!
They don't have any more Yukons, though I think a Zephyr was reduced to around a grand and looked very sweet. The guy who served me said he had just bought one of the Zephyrs.
Yesterday I bought my first new bike in over ten years. Only the rear brake lever remains from that Sunn Tonic. I now have a lovely new Van Nicholas Yukon (without pedals).
Look up Essaouira. I went in October '08 for three days. A bit windy on the beach and so great for kitesurfing. Place not properly developed yet so quite relaxed. Nice medina to visit etc.
