    I’m 12st and the spring is 450 – bang on according to TfT’s and Fox’s calculators….

As mentioned I get 90% travel on singletrack so a lighter spring wont do me any favours.

Again – is really a question of is this Tracer/vpp -esque

Swalsey – I’m assuming you mean “less” preload – issue with that is I’m only about .5 turn from contact with the spring.

Rebound is already quite slow giving a really comfortable, controlling feel on anything else (I’d probably have to bunny hop to get the wheel disconnect from the ground its that good).

Thats why I wondered whether its was a symptom of the VPP – but I dont remeber feeling is on my previous 5.5 with air…..

    Bump.

C’mon, I want to know how to make my initial Travel less harsh – would sticking the same shock in 6″ mode help?

Do what I intend to do – ride it, then leave it in the shed for 6 years.

I’d go with RR/RR in this dry and add a NN to the front if it dampens up too much.

I’ve used the Ralph as soon ago as Sunday – its v fast and grippy. Go for the 2010’s triple nano, and snakeskin if your in a rocky area, many offers around atm.

    Hi

@ Oxnop & roblane – I just wondered whats your experience with coil on VPP? I’ve just added a pushed van R onto a Tracer VP and am getting a near hardtail experience/feel over loose gravel/pebble type trails in this dry weather, although it swallows dips in the trail small / medium / large drops admirably. Could be an issue with preload on the shock but I wanted to know whether this is common to VPP with coil perhaps?

    Cheers

Wow, personally I feel if he’s have jumped the branch like a proper rider he’d have been OK.

Like Hobo said, nice to be alive, so smile.
