Brant – please make the JLD!

I you could get a production run in place ready so I can buy him a frame before the new year that’d be great :)

    Brilliant advert.

I second what Drac says, the Robinsons advert is definitely the advert of the moment!

18″ C456, coil RS pikes, hope pro 2/ex721s slx groupset.

    28lb 7oz.

Could easily shave 1lb on both forks and wheels but its currently serving me well!

    Brilliant video.

Anyone who doesn’t have a smile at this isn’t human. We all remember the fun of riding off road as a child :)

really sorry to hear that, hope if nothing else your insurance covers your loss.

there are some real muppets around unfortunately (polite terminology).

Absolutely incredible! Anything that brings smile and laughter like that to a child is worth it!!

I had this fear so stuck with a hex, although a friend has one and says its fine. Bit of a gamble I guess as everyone’s different.

Looks like a really early orange ‘o’ frame.

I have a ’98 one which has extra gussets on the top-head tube and the down-head tube.

    A la…

+1 on the x mini v2 mini speakers, 1 sounds good but I got 2 and they sound good for what they are. 5 daisy chained must be a bit mental

This! I use one at work quite regularly and also when away camping etc.

It will hold charge for between 20-35 hours depending on the volume it’s played at.

I’ve only ever done basic servicing. Well happy if its that easy :)

The straight steerer forks are no problem. A hope mix and match headset would deal with that.

Afraid I can’t comment on the rest unfortunately as I’ve no experience with them.

Anything to elaborate on or is it literally a straight swap?

Forgot to mention the pikes are 20mm maxle and the revelations are 9mm QR hence wishing to keep the pike lowers.

Being that you have a nice land rover it would be a shame not to have a nice sankey trailer to go with it :)

Yea easily repaired. I’ve seen some hideous looking damage get repaired.

C456 is doing me proud at the moment. Had it since January and clocked up about 750miles so far, just can’t get enough of it. :)

I don’t understand the comments about it being too stiff, its got a noticeable give over my old aluminium hardtail but when you pedal it transmits every push into rocketing you forwards. I can’t ever imagine not having it!

I miss my old mk2 golf. Not quite your usual mk2, audi TT engine, motec management, Quaife gearbox and ATB diff.

317bhp and 357lb/ft in a golf weighing less than a tonne. Handled well with koni Coilovers, eibach anti roll bars, porsche brakes.

I’d heard that 650b wheels are no problem on both c456 and whippet, didn’t realise that 29ers could fit too!

I’ve got 1 and a half currently.. Which is reducing to one to fund an upgrade or two for the one.

My carbon 456 is my everything bike which it does pretty well. There’s times when it would be nice to have a full suspension bike too but those times are in the minority.

If the battery has plenty of power first thought is the starter relay, then check earth lead.

After that could be starter motor itself or an immobiliser fault.

Post on brickyard or t5 forum sure someone will be able to help.

Wouldn’t worry. I completed 50miles of a British heart foundation ride today on conti MK 2.2s. Another rider completed It on his lapierre (zesty I think) with rubber queens.

Just means you’ll have to pedal a bit harder.

As much as you can will be the simple answer… And then the longer you own it the more you’ll want to change or upgrade. This can be for many reasons, performance, weight saving… Even down to looks.. It’s a slippery slope you’re starting on!

I’ve not used the spread sheet but tracking everything on MFP.

Loss so far since Jan 1st is 42.8lb. I did have an awful lot to loose though (and still do). Gone from almost 19stone 11 down to 16stone 10lb. My losses have slowed dramatically compared to the first month or so but still managing a steady 1.5-2lb loss a week (so far). Ideally I’d like to loose another 2stone ish if I can.

Yet to see any prices but I’d be looking at the new ibis ripley. If its anything like the mini reviews on demo days it’ll make an amazing bike!

Mines on the outside of the seat stay too I asked for this as I wasn’t sure if my
Mono M4s would fit inside the triangle.

As for a headset I’ve gone for a hope mix and match headset. Hopefully not have to change it too often as I can just replace the bearings as and when they’re ever needed.

I’m just about to get a rack for my T5 to carry the bikes.

I’ve gone a slightly different route and have a caravelle rear triple seat. Fully crash tested all original vw parts.

This folds flat to form a bed (I’m just making up a board for the rest as the multiflex board from VW has gone through the roof price wise).

Looks nice! Seat tube looks a bit freaky but guess the mud clearance has to come from somewhere.
