Always been a vaults user up until this year.

Bought some unite instincts and they’re as grippy as the vaults, feel like they’re really built to last.

One side note, when I first fitted them they were very stiff to spin on the axles, I think the tolerances on the igus bushings are significantly tighter than that of the vaults so just give them a little time to bed in.

I’ve been using smoove for a good 12-18months on a mix of road and MTBs.. in my experience

After initial application less is definitely more.. if you’re getting a build up surely that means you’ve added more than required. Doing short not to muddy rides recently (had a bit of a dry spell really haven’t we) I’m getting circa 60-75miles of riding between applications. I clean them off with the smoove prep which is amazing stuff (literally melts any slight build ups I get at the base of the chainring teeth).

I’ve got a set on order from Cyclorise Who are now the UK distributor. If they’re half as good as the reviews I’ve read then I’ll be very happy!

Cedric Garcia has been for a while. I saw the other week on Instagram that Yohann barreli was offering coaching weeks in bc, Canada.. I bet that would be a great week of riding/entertainment!

I’ve got a couple of the Louri straps as mentioned above. Quality is great and they really hold items stable. I’ve used them on my kinesis crosslight with no issues.

I’ve been using Smoove since last summer and it works really well, I don’t degrease after every application.. after every 2/3 I guess… but the applications are a week or so apart in winter where as with squirt when commuting through the winter I had to re-apply every other day.

Now it’s all dry I seem to get a couple of weeks commuting out of one Smoove application.

Worth the money in my opinion, have my whole family’s bikes using it now.

I went with the Hope adapter and relished my front wheel.. pro 2 evo on to new Fox 36 boost. Worked perfectly no issues with spoke lengths… I’ll just change the hub when I get around to a wheel upgrade.

Really easy to do, follow the simple guide supplied.

As others have said plenty of soapy water and doing it in the comfort of your home as the heat keeps the invisiframe more supple.

I’m fortunate enough to work on these crazy things at Leonardo in yeovil (what was Westlands helicopters) so very familiar with sea king, merlin/eh101/cormorant, and also recently the aw189 which are now being used for U.K. coastguard duties 😊

i do like a good heli story!

I’ve been using one for a couple of weeks, great bit of kit… stopped all the muck this years ard moors could try and fling up at it, simple to remove even when it was muddy and I had gloves on.. highly recommended.

I am also trying Smoove, it’s a new product at similar cost to squirt but much longer lasting from my experience this far on both my mountain bike and cx bike. Definitely worth a try if you’re considering other options.

Just to throw a spanner in the works and promote what I have…

I use a Senseo machine with coffee bags, so add your own milk, makes a nice cup/mug of coffee IMHO. Sure plenty of coffee snobs will say it’s rubbish, but I find the medium roast bags work well (dependant on preferred taste.

Added bonus is the bags are £3 for 18 bags in my local tesco so sub 17p each.

I’ve got a pro6 (the bright green variety), had it for about 18months, use it for commuting, road, gentle off road… Been great, built it up with 50/34 and an 11-32 shimano 105 group set. No issues most places I ride.

Currently on 38c tyres with no clearance issues.

Highly recommend the AllianceMTB guys. I did their pines to peaks weekend last September and really improved my riding and had a great time doing it!

Why not have a go at building yourself? I built up the hope hub/stans Grail wheels on my cx bike for sub £400 and have had no issue with them in the last year since build (I may of just cursed myself). Maybe not the lightest setup (think they’re somewhere around the 1800g mark, but given I’m just under 100kg I’d rather have a wheel I know will be able to take a bit of abuse.

Ok so it’s a Napier but at least it’s been driven properly! Had the pleasure of this being used as a child, still driven like this to this day.

    I’ve got this set…

    Screwfix Allen keys

For less than a tenner it covers most bases.

Yes! I’m halfway to Vorlichs wish list

    Here’s mine

I went from swb to this, haven’t had any more issues with roads/parking than I did in my old Swb.

Options wise, mines a highline, extra sliding door, xenon lights.

Inside I’ve fitted a caravelle seat setup which folds out into a rather comfy full width bed. Also provides safe travel for the kids in the back when we go out.

Narrowing down the location may help people ever so slightly.. Personally know of at least 2 people who’ve lost Garmins at opposite ends of the country (well quantocks and Peak District).

A few months ago I went from m785 xt to guide RSCs for no other reason than I could.. Having given them a good testing now there’s no way I’d go back. As much power as the xts but with more modulation.. What’s not to like!

I rode it a couple of years ago with hr2s… i’d advise the fastest rolling tyre you’ve got if it’s dry.

Well organised event, I was a little disappointed with the finishers pen but would happily do it again.

I always take Strava leaderboards with a big pinch of salt. I follow a local xc endurance mtb rider who I use as my benchmark for times (read as target) if I can get anywhere close to his times I’d be very happy,

In reality I’m considerably slower but keep getting marginal improvements which is all I’m after and the main reason I use Strava.

Hope make a bb92 compatible bottom bracket for 24 and 30mm axles.

    The bb92 is pf41.

Been off the bike since 16th January with a broken pubic rami, only recently been able to gently spin my legs on the turbo trainer, absolutely hating it.

I’m a big lover of evoc packs, they’re not the lightest but the fit and quality are far more important to me.

Get together, raise some money for charity and ride some trails. Always a good laugh and great charity raffle/freebies. Skills sessions available, photography session.

As an added bonus it’s free (well apart from the raffle)!

Update – just got van back from the VW specialist for inspection. Verdict is the manifold area: missing studs, loads of soot. They won’t know if the manifold is salvageable until off, might have warped and popped the studs. If it does need replacing, they are quoting £500 for the manifold, various gaskets, clamps, seals and £500 labour + VAT = £1200. EEEK…does that sound about right? Worth a second opinion elsewhere or bite the bullet?

    POSTED 4 HOURS AGO #

If you have a 5cylinder 2.5 T5 the price is spot on unfortunately, the branches of the manifold are known to crack.

If there’s studs missing that would suggest the manifold has been removed (or attempted to) at some point previously.

I keep looking and keep being drawn to the Bronson 2.

We’ll see though, my original bronson is still a very good bike (I’m sure some critics will disagree as always on here).

Mtbbatteries for me too. Bought a bar and helmet setup from him about 18months ago and used at 24/12 last year, battery lasts way beyond the Chinese sized equivalent in terms of burn time and the actual units have been faultless even after my use and abuse for both Mtb and commuting purposes.

Buy cheap buy twice… And it’s not like they are at the ridiculous end of the price spectrum when compared to hope/exposure prices!
