Price on new heckler frames are good, but they don't with an RP23 as standard though.

Yep, bought a pipedream torero after a rave singletrack review and a good price from pipedream.
Built it up, rode it, didn't get on it with, fiddled with it, took it to the alps for two weeks and still couldn't get on with the thing. I made everyone of my riding buddies have a go on it and they couldn't fault it but it just didnt do it for me.

Borrowed a heckler in the Alps which was loads better and since getting back to the UK I'm back on my trusty steel hardtail.

Done this in the past with Enterprise, think they charged me 5 quid to ring the DVLA and check my license.

+1 The gap or the black mountains. The latter you definitely want to avoid if it's been raining lately as it'll be a bog fest.

The gap is good, there's some fireroad but only like 15% of the total. The sugar loaf (mountain just outside Abergavenny) is good for a shorter blast too.

Drop me an email if you need routes. There's some videos of the gap and black mountains on our club site if you want a feel for it http://www.mountaingoats.nildram.co.uk

Just come back from two weeks in Morzine using a domain 318 and no complaints. Is a fair bit heavier than other forks I've used but works fine, espeically with the right spring for your weight.

Well my order still hasn't turned up so I'm off to Morzine without new 5:10s, tyres and shorts. :(

My own fault for leaving it late I guess but thought 24hr delivery on Tuesday would've been enough time, apparently not.

I'm in the same boat, off to Morzine tonight but the order I placed on CRC Tuesday was still showing as processing last night. Rang them during the day and they said it'd dispatch yesterday.

Checked the site this morning and it's now complete, parcel force tracker says it was in Belfast at 9pm last night so fingers crossed!

I've had a right mare with lots of online bike shops this week, Rutland and Discount cycles direct being the worst for letting you order stuff with 24hr and it not actually being in stock. Wiggle have been top of the pile for me lately.

OK, make sense now. The caliper on the front is a 9:74 so thats the 183, just need a standard post to is mount I think.

So what's the options other than stick them on the classifieds, smaller calipers?

    krag

Yeah, that's the bit I was stuck on as I read on another thread where the 183 rotors would get pushed up to 203 with a IS/post adapotor but it was a bit of a spur of the moment purchase eek :)

Do W2 (start from Afan rather than glyncorrwg if you want lunch in the drop off cafe).

Parts of the fireroad that get you to the wall climb are diverted but you're not missing much (in fact the diversion is shorter!)

Penhydd is closed for a year which is a shame, don't think any parts of whites level are closed.

Speed awareness course this afternoon :(

Then home to wales for a weekend of riding :)

On a related note, I lost my maxle lever whislt riding on the weekend. The wheel is still on – is this likely to be a problem?

I'll order a new one but want to keep riding in the meantime. Think I lost it half way around the wall and finished the trail fine and commuted every day on it so far, but just checking :)

As above try different medication. The only one I find works for me is Benadryl Acrivastine which typically still has a patent so there's no own brand cheap versions of it.

Motorcycled down to croatia a few summers ago and spent a few weeks island hopping. Didn't find too much camping but accomodation with locals (they mob you when you get off the ferrys) was cheap and cheerful.

Off to Morzine the last two weeks of July. 7 of us including the missus. Just found out a mate is going down at the same time with another 12 people so should be good times. Cannot wait!

Just come back from mayhem but we didn't enter a team this year just went for the craic. Ended up taking the road bikes out and doing the 100k sportive route yesterday and the 50k sportive route today. Didn't pay the £22 quid though as for the money I didnt think it was worth it: a tshirt, timing and some feed stations. We just followed the route and spent the money on a nice lunch in a pub. Doesn't seem value for money to me.

Did you do your Fox forks like this guy?

The forks in that video are mine (I'm not that guy, but the guy behind the camera!)

If it's any use we did my RS Domain's last night as it happens!

I don't have a problem driving there in one go, did it in January to get to Alp D'Huez from South Wales. With this trip there's a gang of us going one of whom is in a van so it's going to be slow going hence the stop over.

Benadryl works best for me but I've not taken any for the last 6 weeks as not been suffering. I had a really bad 2 week period around the beginning of April but not had any symptons since, guessing it depends on the pollen?

I run pikes on mine, pro2 hubs with mavic 321s, hope mono minis and a shonky mix of deore/lx drive train.

I very very nearly bought the new 2010 green one you're buying, it looks lush in the photos be nice to see one built up :)

Yeah really like mine, had the society first which is a bit more XC and then swopped it in for a surge. They are quite long bikes though, I had the large (I'm 5"10) and my mates medium rides a lot better for me.
No problems with the build, mines been pretty abused and is still holding up pretty well.

I stripped my society down today to build up a full suss so I have the frame kicing around if you're interested. It's in far from pristine condition with a few scratches with surface rust and the odd cable rub but wouldn't be looking for much for it.

Surge is indeed geared (I have one) and so is the society.

It's set really low partly because the seat post I took out of my hardtail to build it up is thinner than the seat tube but mainly cos it's gnar.

Commute on my NS bikes society, steel hardtail with 2.35 knobblies and 140mm pike. Still try and race anyone and anything I see though.

I keep meaning to include "the woods behind nationwide" into my commute but can never be arsed to get up early enough…
