I’d say somerset is up there – Quantocks, Exmoor & Mendips/Cheddar would keep most people entertained for quite some time.

I’ve recently moved and my commute is a touch longer but now 95% of road. I can stop off at the allotment to water this years (hopefully bounteous) chili crop on the way home, have a chat with all the old fellas and feel like I’ve earned my beer when I get home.

Voodoo Bizango. I’m 5’10” and the 18 fits me fine. Got mine for £540 (always seems to be a 10% off deal around on the web somewhere). Saddle and pedals would need replacing asap, might want to put a dropper on too.

Yesterday, we were discussing what equipment we’d need for the following day and one of our site lads actually said “we will have to find out where we can plug the generator in”, i glanced over assuming he was taking the piss… seems not, so I quickly informed him he’d have to park his van up nice and close and plug it into the cigarette lighter, adding that one day someone should invent a generator that runs on fuel. Might take him a few years to live that one down!

check all of the fixings around the drop outs are tight. I had a similar thing last week and there were two bolts that had come slightly loose allowing play in the rear wheel, and rubbing against the frame.

changed from 680mm bars, and 80mm stem. Only had one decent ride so far, but already feel like i’m in a better position on the bike, especially when descending. For £30 you can’t go wrong, I’d say you’d easily get £20 back selling here if you don’t like it.

I paired the el guapo with a 50mm On-One Ultralight CNC Stem, 30 quid total, arrived next day. Such a cheap way to try out the short and wide stem/bar combo.

should have mentioned – currently running 3×9, so will need a new rear end anyway, so would be no extra hassle popping in the extender when I put the new 10 speed cassette on

I picked up an on-one 50mm stem for £20 on planet-x (and a tenner for some 760mm bars)

“Her excuse was that she didn’t expect me to pull away from the lights so fast”

So she acknowledges that she saw you, knew that you were there, knew the lights had changed and still managed to hit you?!

you need to report this to the police in case things go sour and you need to go the insurance route.

Go wander around Gloucester and marvel at how such a miserable sorry state of a town can co-exist on any level with it’s much smarter next door neighbour without instantly going out of business.

Voodoo Bizango on a cycle to work scheme works out at under £500, that’s before you get any other discounts that are floating about. Great spec for the money (I love mine)

But the elements don’t look very weather proof? I’m guessing they’re a bit sponge like when they get wet?

Happy to come and be guided around the area! Can return the favour at our local (Quantocks) – normally 2 of us ride together most weekends with a bit of travel (Quantocks, Haldon, Forest of Dean, Puddletown, wales trips planned for spring)

feel free to email me (see my profile)

Sounds like money better spent on a weekend trip to afan/cwm carn then as Dorking is 3 hours drive for us, where as I can get to Afan in 2.

I once volunteered for a home that provided support to men from Haiti, that suffered in verbally abusive relationships. If I ever met them in the street with my GF at the time though, she would mock them to their face.

Well one day once of them gave her a right mouthful in reply, she was completely stunned and never did it again.

That ex heeded my next pecked hations.

    (I am so, so sorry)
