There’s none in stock, but the fact that you can get them means Madison will be able to help.

Renton, they seem to sell them in Germany for around 6 euro. Try Madison as mentioned, they should sort you out.

If not you could always make one 🙂 Some shed time and all that.

renton, can you point out which part from this pic? Granted it’s from an Enduro, and it may differ on a Pitch.

I like my Recons, a bit heavy and pretty basic but bomb proof and easy to service.

I have a 2010 S-Lite set on my HT for general trail riding which I have been pleasantly supprised with.

As Saladdodger says, if they work keep em!

Got an L412 (i5 model) & a new 64gb tablet from work, both crap! lockups, reboots and hangs galore. Oh, and thats when they run fast enough to use.

Wide birth if it were my cash.

neilnevill, that mod is to get 170mm on a standard U-Turn on the cheap.

OP – I’ve had a re-think and it cannot be done with a non u-turn spring, the rebound damper has around 175mm of travel which means that there is 5mm of play due to the spring not being fixed to the shaft unlike a u-turn. There must be something different in the rebound / MC side of the non u-turn models.

You can test this by undoing the u-turn spring at the bottom, pull the lowers and you gain the extra travel.

You’ll need one of these: –

    to go with the spring.

total cost will be around £70.

A lot of cost for no difference in performance.

Mine has the same, very faint but they are pre prodcution 2006/7 Lyriks after all 😉

They have also been heavily modified over the years, never changed the bushes though!

What tends to happen is that the bushes need “Bedding in” during the early use of the fork, during this time lubrication is essential. No / limited lube will cause wear on the stantion coating as this will be the weakest link. This wear will microns thick but will be sufficeient to discolour. This will be the same for worn bushes due to slight angular contact.

My guess is that the stripe is the origional colour and the rest of the stantion has worn / discoloured.

As their new i’d get them changed, if they were 2nd hand i’d just increase the lower service intervals.

I don’t think it is a seal issue, looks more like a lube issue. Did you check the lower lube levels when new?

I work for a large regulated water company, all water compaies chlorinate their supply all of the time. They will over chlorinate if issues arise such as supply pipework compromise, problems with the chlorination unit and issues with the source of the water i.e. borehole or reservoir.

It’s nothing to worry about, the dosage is of a safe level. Just does not tase very good.

If you work on Alcohol by volume 4 75cl 12.5% bottles a week equals 12 pints of average strength beer / lager / cider.

    Sound familiar?

The process is called annealing, look it up on google / wiki. The sort of temps that frames are baked at will not have any effect on stregth (or “Zing” what ever that may be??).

It’s a process used to “reset” the abnormal molecular structure which the steel may have been subject to in it’s forming / finishing process. With regards frame building it will be standard process after welding.

The bike tart tape is the same as I bought i.e. 3m aerospace quality but twice the price. Looks like they hardly have any stock either.

    3m tape is 0.4mm thick

I had a bargain from tstrainer on here, 2000mm x 100mm for £12. Quality 3m stuff too, I used a good wqaulity degreaser & hairdryer to soften the tape for the best application results.

Not necessarily Northwind, if the preload spring acts with the main spring without affecting the ammount of travel this will actually affect the overall spring rate at one point of the travel.

So the answer may be… yes!

Cruzheckler, the origional RS spec oil came in at about 7.5wt against the standard.

I got the foam rings from TFTuned, they called it the “Boxxer” mod.
