SiB, my tips are : –

Make the pond as big as you can
Make the pond as deep as you can
Install a submerged shelf for planting
Try and incorporate a shallow area where wildlife can come and go freely.
If your not installing a pump but are having fish plenty of aeration plants and some nitrate converters too (e.g Iris, Water Lilly)
    Any shape will do.

I also recomend Fawcetts Liners No10 for general all purpose liner. Fawcetts

    Hope it helps.

I bet the stumpy is pretty quick?!

…..hmmm not with my fat arse on it!

I found the Fox Triad quite a suprise though, was expecting AFR’esque performance. I’m still undecided on the Float XTT’s though.

It’s quite funny how I get the P!ss ripped out of me by the Giant crew I ride with for having Spesh bikes, it must be jelousy 😛
They obviously don’t know quality and superior suspension design when they see it.

Jon go for it, I just bought them very forks for my enduro. I’ve been runnning 160 lyrik uturns for years, I found that the bike climbed better not locked out on single track but can be tough on fire roads etc. you’ll never be the quickest up hill but you’ll be very happy going down!

One other tip is go for a 200 x 2.25 rear shock as it’ll give you an extra 10mm on the rear too.

Ton, try and up your water intake. I stalled after about a stone despite regular cardio (10k 3 times a week), increased my ater intake to 4L / day and lost an extra 1/2 stone over the following 2 weeks.

It’s a LOT cheaper and quieter, Valnord has the world cup dh tracks while Grandvalira has a good mix of lift access trails and XC loops. I rate it.

Just over 2 hrs from Toulouse via Easyjet.

Oh, for the roadies lots of TDF stuff near.

I just bought one of these: –

    1080p @ 30fps, 720p @ 60fps plus 5mp camera.

with a 32gb mem card and remote control for £100 on Amazon, really good reviews but the mounts are limited. It is waterproof though 🙂

Preparation is the key to succes, along with decent durable paint. The biggest issue is that after the paint has been stripped the clean down is not sufficient enough to give good paint / primer bond (key) to the frame. This then causes all sorts of problems as the paint strength is compromised.

If its a steel frame then get it dipped, if it’s alu then its a manual job as chemical attack (Nitromores etc) can cause pitting.

Meddle I belive “9 Foot” was the prelude to Penhydd, I never rode it as I’m not from the area and most of my riding was further east.

Klunk, I agree that all of Afan / GC is hardly challenging but it’s fun and that is what it’s all about. If you want to make it more of a challen then strap your lights on and have a go when it’s dark, Penhydd at night was legendry! White’s Level was also super fun in the dark, before they cut all the trees down 🙁

I attempted to ride it nearly a year ago when the felling was in full swing, the only section that was remotely ridable was the last section over the river (heart of darkenss?). The machinery had destroyed everything. If a trail opens is will not be Penhydd, never.
