    people who are clearly guilty

Are you my mother in law who says “why do we need a trial when I can tell already he is guilty?”

related to court proceedings, not the police investigation of an alleged crime.

    Yes, exactly.

But you now have it in writing via ebay that they’ve not recieved the car. And assuming the address on the v5 is correct (how else would they get the new one posted to them) you can pop round and pick up the car thats still yours

What – the car for which you don’t have a V5 or keys, you mean?

I don’t know how you see that as a happy ending

if a Trump vs Sanders election is looking likely, Michael Bloomburg will stand as an independent and presumably pitch himself as a sane middle-ground candidate.

Apart from the fact he essentially bought his way into office through sheer wealth (!), he was a very good NYC mayor. However, my concern would be that he would split the Democratic vote while Republicans recoil from his gun-hating, gay-hugging, cosmopolitan, “New York” (ie Jewish) values…and that leads to President Trump.

Much better is if Trump is not nominated, stands as an Indy and splits the (Cruz?) Republican vote. Then it will be full-on Nelson Muntz time.

The risk to Apple is a reputational one. They’re ahead with Apple Pay and need to ensure it’s seen as completely secure.
    POSTED 2 HOURS AGO # REPORT-POST

They might have to just suck it up. If you sell a product to someone then yes there is a chance they will alter it in a way that’s not your fault and that other dingbats blame failures resulting from that failure on you. This is the same way that if I replace the steering wheel in my Audi with one made of cheese, it might break.

copy of the signed V5 and report it as fraud.
    Sit back and cackle manically.

A £100 fraud that’s something to do with eBay and used cars is very unlikely to get any police attention unless you live somewhere in the sticks and have a mega enthusiastic officer. We can’t even get them interested when thousands or hundreds of thousands of pounds have been taken and we have done all the investigations necessary. The police are massively under resourced and under prioritising fraud.

Nelson Muntz quoted as saying “A-ha!”

He’s an Elder of the Church, and a Solicitor. This doesn’t stand well with being a liar. I suspect the Church and the Law Society are wondering what to do if this doesn’t go away quickly.

Unless I’m looking it up wrong, Carmichael isn’t a solicitor in Scotland or England and Wales.

Your incessant inconsequential yammering doesn’t count as “quiet”. Hth

Haha that’s a common expression at our house now but I didn’t want to quote it because there’s nothing like having something ruined for you like having a bunch of fanbois quoting it! (FTR I am a huge fanboi and have recommended it on here before – I think by quoting that line)

It is excellent, such a hilarious film.

Watch “Boy” if you’d like to have your heart broken and then kicked around the room. Same director.

I’ve sold motorbikes through eBay and it’s been fine, but everyone seems to have had stories of being messed around

Extensive description, 99p start, cash on collection (not on a Friday night), and a willingness to get rid of the lot asap – easy!

As for being anti competitive, companies have the right to protect their commercial interests. If you put unauthorised parts in your phone/product then you take the risk and the manufacturer will protect their risks.

Companies have the right to protect their legitimate and lawful interests, which is something slightly different.

They are not allowing the customers to take the risk of having unauthorised parts in your phone, they’re shutting it down.

This is a solution looking for a problem. There is no shortage of places to put solar panels – as someone above said; there acres and acres of industrial and flat domestic roofing

There is a shortage of solar panel technology that makes it worthwhile to do!

Very sad – I saw his episode of Cribs and it looked so much fun.

Without sounding morbid I wonder if concussion may have some part to play, he pushed the boundaries of park bmx and must have suffered a ton of head shots over the years.

I don’t think it’s morbid. In addition to the growing recognition between head injury and mental illness/suicide in American football, there’s also growing research into the connection between head injury and mental illness/poor decisionmaking/incarceration.

    Jesus! Nightmare.

I have dealt directly with a car insurer myself in the past and it was fine BUT there was no personal injury then. I would be very reluctant to be dealing with the driver’s insurance company directly esp when you’re all zonked out on painkillers!

I bought a range rover on ebay for a quid. I had to go from Gatwick to Wolverhampton to collect it. National coaches were doing a special offer, 1 pound
city to city and Gatwick counts as a city.

Blimey. I assume it needed a lot of work…?

as a british citizen by a quirk of geography you are also a european, as Britain is technically within the boundaries of western europe, our culture is european in terms of historical interaction, art, music, religion etc.etc.

Not very good pedantry – you could easily be a British citizen without ever having been to Britain or Europe, and not having the slightest connection to British or European history, art, music, religion etc.

As a kid nothing had me reaching for the off button faster than an episode of Dad’s army and have continued in the same manner all my life in some sort of pavlovian response to the theme tune

Me too, and I was very sniffy last year (above) but after seeing the bbc one hour drama about the making of the first episode I might go and see it after all

I think that the biggest clue comes form the fact that so many of the people who are saying “out” would be a disaster are the same people who, a few years ago, were telling us that it would be a disaster if we didn’t join the Euro…

Who specifically are you talking about?

most car brands online now, but has that meant the end of the showroom, no.

It’s a bit different though – I thought dealers don’t really make money on most new car sales, they’re just feeding the pipeline for servicing (which you can’t do online).

Kid in my family is going to do it. Seems very expensive – might be cheaper to just buy individual train tickets (but perhaps that’s missing the simplicity and spontaneity). I’d fly low cost out and then make my way back or vv – but again maybe I’m missing the point
