I find all the mounts a little bit loose, not the rail system but the mounts themselves, so you need to be a bit creative with old inner tubes or insulation tape – my vented helmet mount has side play on the pin it pivots on so I put a piece of inner tube in it to stop it moving, and a piece of neoprene inbetween the 2 parts of the goggle mount.

    Good prices HERE btw

    ‘No fraud here… yet’

That’s what I thought last night, I checked my account after reading this and nothing came up, today my card has been stopped, so worth keeping an eye on just in case so you can contact your bank asap?

I’ve just had my card declined for a payment, so phoned the bank and someone’s tried to top up on Vodaphone, so now my card’s been stopped. I made a payment to CRC a week ago, it wouldn’t let me pay using paypal for some reason, I tried a few times as I think it’s more secure, so I had to enter my card details eventually … yep, all seems a bit of a coincidence! The only other payment I’ve made was with google checkout on Friday. 👿

Good that my bank detected it before payments made though as I hadn’t made any previous payments to vodaphone so they were suspicious 🙂 thanks HSBC … my bank said they had every detail correct, card number, expiry date, start date, code number on the back

Odd, I have ordered from them last Friday but already had a payment received email on Friday, but also got another one this morning, can’t open anything on it though, the link doesn’t seem to work. 😕

I was, er, have been, or maybe am, very tempted by some of the Santa Cruz ex-demo bike sales … don’t tell the other half though 😉 .. oops, she’s probably reading this right now 😆

Get someone else to get you to A+E or doctors, might not be a good idea to drive/cycle yourself there incase of blackout?

    Er … ‘more POE’ ??

Might take a punt at that price, take my nice wheels off and use these over the next few months.

Yeah, was ok, I’ve seen worse, only bit I object to is the walking bit, didn’t look steep enough to have to walk it could’ve rode up that surely, or maybe you need to add some MBUK/MBR type extreme camera angles to fool us on those bits.

Just the bedroom, what about the kitchen or toilet, any bikes in there, if not then there’s obviously room for more bikes … yes? 😉

What do the Nike 6.0’s come up like sizewise, I’m a 9 in 5.10’s but 9.5 in Salomons, do the Nike’s come up narrow so I’d need to get a 10 or something?

Welcome to the forum afrayedknot … think about escaping while you can 😉

Some other forums such as bikeradar and mbr have links to routes for many areas (surprised we don’t have something like that on here, thinking about it?) or you could try google’ing routes and see what comes up, sometimes even local tourist info offices will have maps and guides, but, yep, you’ll probably get a better response on the bike forum …

    🙂

Yeah, Maxxis Ignitor 2.1's … they are more like 1.8's, mine look very small, 45mm carcass with knobs on

I wouldn't worry about the gusseting, as mentioned I'm sure SC have done lots of testing, just observing that it's a bit different from my 2009. Wish I could get out on mine now, it's a lovely day here in the south and I'm stuck at work! 😐

Looks like they done away with the gussets on the top/down/headtube junction for 2011 then?

Great bikes, oh, and I run mine with flatties 8)

Wouldn't a cycle jersey start to really sag with a waterbottle in a rear pocket, specially off-road?

Spokeshirts sell some Wingnut packs HERE but they're not cheap and you still have to buy the bladder.

    Thanks for the other suggestions.

Some great advice there, thanks, it is a few years old but a good clean should sort it out and I just need to get in the habit of emptying and cleaning after use – I tend to just chuck it down and not pick it up again for a few days so it's got a bit manky. 😳

Ah, anyway, CRC did get back to me and the rear hose is 1450mm, too short for me, but if anyone else is interested you might want to check it'll be long enough?

Great, cheers, so when I go tubeless I'll stick to the limits.

CRC have the SLX's at about £65 each, I'm looking for some myself at the moment, but I'm waiting to find out how long the rear hose is, they say it could take a day to find out 😯 … CRC's a bit slow these days eh?

Email them and tell them what you think, I found the tile/gallery type views irritating and find it harder to find things and it also comes up as most popular rather than listed a-z, I told them and suggested there should be the option to switch from gallery to list view, they said they would pass on my comments to the management … whether they will or not though, eh?

    Kojaklollipop

Ok, thanks,if they're a bit bigger than say Michelins 2.0's they should be ok, bit smaller than the Eskars would be ok too as they are a bit overkill at the moment and should be able to shed about 200g each end …

    Cheers

They need to put an option of 'list' or 'gallery view' like you can do on ebay … look how much easier it is to scan the alphabetical lists on the left to find what you want than it is to use the gallery view that opens in 'best selling', I have to list things at work in spreadsheets and it would be a nightmare if a did it in 3 or 4 columns going left to right in some random order, change is good but not change for changes sake?

Don't like it 😐 wanted to look at some tyres this morning, clicked on 'MTB 26" Tyres' and clicked on page 4 where I was expecting to see what I was looking for, and they all appeared jumbled up in no particular order, so I had to change the view from 'most popular' to 'A-Z', but it has that gallery view and not list, I find that much harder to quicky scan what I'm looking for … FAIL … there was nothing wrong with it before!

I had one of those Killi Racers, ebay'd it a few years ago, heavy and harsh, I'm sure just the frame was something like 6 1/2 lb, had a Flexstem on it too and took it off-road just to remind myself what it was like, only did about 8 miles and still felt the pain a few days after that 😯

I treated myself to this in February 😀

I have a 1999 Heckler and a 2002 Superlight still in use so I'm a big fan of the SC single pivot designs.

The old Superlight is a great bike but I noticed that the new one has a stiffer rear end and burlier feeling frame, I can be a bit more careless with my lines on the new one and it makes a great all round bike. I've upgraded the forks to maxle rebas which really suit it and stiffens up the front even more. I found the standard shock to be fine, I've got a RP23 on another bike and can't really tell any difference, I think the stock Float R is set up well for the bike. It's fast up the hills, and fast down, a great all-day bike, and I reckon with some stronger wheels it would be fine on more downhill type trails.

Was ok yesterday after a few days of showers, drys up pretty quick with a bit of sun and wind at the moment – Friston Forest/Eastbourne end, but lots of rain this afternoon and sun/showers forcast thurs/fri, dry and sunny on saturday, the only clagy bit was where a lot of horses had been, so you might be ok with it getting better as your day goes on?

Put a wanted ad up in the classifieds?

I did this as I wanted some spares for my crossride disc wheels that were on a bike I was taking to the Alps.

The quality of Karrimor stuff these days is shocking, poor materials and finish so I'd avoid, Lowe Alpine used to do some good one's, I've got one that must be about 15 years old but don't know if they still do them, come up on ebay often and you can get one that'll carry a bottle too?

    U2 – The Unforgettable Fire .. surely?

So different from the previous Boy, October, War, Under a Blood Red Sky, a few of us were into U2 around that time and I remember when we got The Unforgettable Fire we just looked at each other and thought 'what the ****?'

I tried the Fitness Singles one a few years ago, paid up for one month or something, one was really keen and lots of emails but as soon as I suggested meeting it all stopped, but only met one person as there just wasn't anyone local. Prefer to meet people in the real world but we maybe, if were lucky, get one female turn up on our local mtb rides, and she'll usually have a boyfriend anyway, but it seems to be harder to meet people my age and single – early 40's. Met one at work recently that seemed perfect but she only wanted to be friends, but we've seen a lot of each other and done a lot in the past few weeks and she keeps texting and calling me which is messing with my head at the moment, think I'm being an idiot and holding on to hope, so decided to join Plenty of Fish too, it's a bit grim on there, I've got a date lined up next week, but it makes me feel a bit quesy searching through 100's of photos and profiles, 1000's come up local on that. I'm beginning to think I'll stay single again! 😕
