Get your doctor to send you to a specialist who will then decide whether it needs banding. A special instrument puts an “elastic band” around the pile, this stops the blood getting to it and within a couple of weeks it will drop off, the pile that is!
Uncomfortable at the time but seems to work.

My mother keeps getting calls telling her that her computer has a problem and they can fix it. She’s 85 has never had a computer and when she tells them this they tell she definitely has a problem with her computer. She tells them in no uncertain terms where the computer fault is, but they still keep calling her!

I’m sure Kate Bush is very good but I saw Goldfrapp last night in Birmingham and she was fantastic. Great band, great sound and career spanning set. A gig well worth going to.

When I did most of my canoeing back in the 60’s and 70’s nearly all that would have been considered impossible!

I have a Lidl bike computer and I’ve found it totally useless. It switches off every time you stop and does not restart automatically when you set off again. The result is much of your ride info is missing. Those of you who like it have you come across this problem?

I also have a Cateye which I have found to be very good.

Have a look at Rohan, I hadn’t worn jeans for years, but I was persuaded to try the Rohans and now I’m in them all the time. Really comfy.

Thoroughly enjoyed the BBC’s coverage of the Olympics. Even liked the supermarket trolley studio in the main square. Was this just a BBC idea to save money or were there proper studios if you could afford them?

10.7mbps with AOL. Have tested it at various times and usually shows just over 10 but has dropped to 9 on occasions. £7.50 No download limit. £126 line rental per year.

    PVR already set up.
If you are ever in Mississippi then a trip to the BB King Museum, Indianola is well worth a visit. Two hours south of Memphis, an hour south of Clarksdale.

Just remember it is half term, this week have come across grandma and granddaughter walking across the board walk at the Stegosaurus, not their fault it’s a big temptation and could do with additional sign warning people. Four mountain bikers, who should know better, blocking a section having a chat and unfortunately because it’s a “working forest” FC back in full swing thinning here there and everywhere which will result in more trees coming down the moment the wind gets up again.

Lots of roadside BBQ joints in Texas. Meat is cooked in BBQ for 12 hours or more. We went to one recommended by some locals. Served on paper plates, pulled pork, two slices of white bread, cup of beans, cup of coleslaw, cup of BBQ sauce, washed down with bottle of Corr’s Light. One of the best meals we had in Texas, delicious.

A good film but it really annoys me when someone talks over the credits telling you about an up an coming programme. Watched a film called Passchedaele last week and as the credits came up some idiot came on to talk about some future programme. Ruined the ending for me, as it took away the emotion of the moment and spoilt a good song.

Riding the forest roads on Cannock Chase, in the late 80’s and early 90’s on my Stallard road bike and then on my Raleigh M Trax. It was however the opening of Follow the Dog in 2005 that I really got the mountain bike bug.

I suppose I could go back to the early 60’s when living on a farm my brother and I, and some friends used to ride the “cow paths” across our fields on bikes. Our farm, on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales had plenty of hills!

Bike ride to Golden Gate Bridge, then ride over the bridge, follow cycle path to Sausalito then catch the ferry back to San Francisco.
    Have a meal in Chinatown.
    Climb Coit Tower
Trolley car ride, hanging on to the side if possible.
Just enjoying the sounds, views and atmosphere of a great city.

Sunshine and a bit of wind and the trails soon dry out on the Chase. Looking at the forecast they will be wet again for the weekend so beware of the pebbles. Great video.

As already said above take the full tour. Launch site and Saturn V most impressed with but everything was fascinating even the Florida racer snakes that seemed to be all over the place when we were there.

Our history teacher telling us about his exploits as captain of a large landing craft during the Second World War. The best history lessons ever.

I have a Humax Freesat PVR and no problems over the four years I’ve had it. I would agree with Tartanscarf, not as good as the Sky box but no major complaints other than the programme guide which I find a bit slow to use.

Only one Alistair Maclean film comes close to being as good as the book and that is Ice Station Zebra.

Yes but the views, colours and the grandeur of the Grand Canyon are fantastic and the programme manages to capture this. I was lucky enough to do the trip ten years ago, a never to be forgotten experience.

I’ve got my Rohan jeans, polo shirt and jumper on at this very moment. I find it lightweight, very comfortable and lasts. As others have said bags seem to last forever. Not cheap but does what it says on the label. Order on line and collect from a Rohan shop, no P and P to pay and if fit is wrong you leave them at the shop.

I ride on the Chase most days and love it. No two days ever feel the same. Chase Trails have done a fantastic job with the materials available, it does however takes years of experience to ride the pebbles properly though having a 29er helps!

Too many to mention but Sister Wendy Beckett stands out. Kirsty Young does seem to get people to open up about their lives.

Only realized how close it came to Agamemnon when I visited the Cold War Museum at RAF Cosford. An excellent museum and well worth a visit. Do Cannock Chase in the morning and the museum in the afternoon for a good day out.

Those of you old enough will remember the very useful leaflet we all received about how to construct a bomb shelter in your front room using a table and whatever else you could lay your hands on. After the 50 megaton bomb had gone off we would just all crawl out from under the table dust ourselves down and carry on!!
