Not trolling, I was recently wrongly accused of something, that could quite easily been sorted by a mature robust conversation. But the other person was too cowardly and involved the police. Fortunately the judge was a bit more savvy than the copper and threw the case out.

We live in a society where people with responsibility, teachers, doctors etc are encouraged not to try and sort problems themselves but to go to the authorities who shoot first and ask questions later.

All this ‘no smoke without fire’, ‘ they didn’t deny it’ is deeply disconcerting. As has been said we have no idea what went on, so how on earth can any of you judge this girl?

School girls being school girls, one can’t get the upper hand so strops to mummy and daddy who strop to school. Can’t believe we have teachers and parents who are so incompetent they have to involve police in something like this.

It seems the prevailing attitude among police and stw is guilty until proven innocent and even then probably guilty anyway. Nice.

How about a track day in his car? My dad’s 66 and has just smashed his GSXR1000 to bits at Brands Hatch.

CRC are unlikely to shaft you if the carbon frame does turn out to be cracky.

Ha, really?! Had A Vitus Zircon from them a couple of years ago. The headset and bb were made of cheese. They weren’t in the slightest bit interested. Likewise I had a Ragley (same parent company) which cracked, again no help at all. Sorry OP, but if I was in your place I’d be waiting until the bike had been out a few months before ordering.

You can buy strips and sheets of thin plastic that can be cut and bent as you like. Any decent model shop, train shop and even some toy shops should stock it. Used to build a lot of armour including scratch builds and conversions, but into Sci For at the moment.

Edit: sorry brain fart, thought you meant the turret basket. The same shops should sell copper tow ropes, or you can try using string and paint it.

I had an early Ragley Piglet which I broke and replaced with a Soul. Found the Soul quite dull to ride so picked up another Piglet frame for 80 quid off ebay. Absolutely love it and haven’t managed to kill it yet.

I’ve been thinking along the same sort of lines. Currently use a 26er Scott Aspect with rigid forks, rack and Specialized Crossroad tyres. It does the job but is heavy.

Tempted by the Hoy Shizuoka from Evans, but as I like a project thinking about getting a 29er Scale and putting some rigid forks on it.

Thanks sb, was set on a Kaffenback but have been following this thread so v tempted by the Charge. Then again those London Roads look quite nice…

sb88 – I might be interested in the kaffenback frame only if it’s a medium. I randomly bought myself some of the forks when they were 15 quid a few days ago!

Leffeboy, just seen this. Thanks for the offer. My brother has some friends here who’ve picked me up. Not that I’m sure heading deeper into the city is a good idea!

Whilst you lot are squabbling, 13 people are dead, dozens are injured. And there’s about a thousand people crammed in a hanger not knowing how we’re going to get home.

It’s nuts. Just been training Sierra Leone army chaplains. They have both Imams and Christian ministers working side by side. I led a joint Christian/Muslim service two days ago. They wouldn’t believe me when I told them about Islamic extremism in Europe.

We’re being held in a secure area. Explosion wasn’t in the terminal I was in. We didn’t know what had happened until they started moving us out. Lots of staff in tears. Guessing they’ve lost workmates.

I’m at the airport now. All evacuated, standing in a car park.

Just spent a fortnight in Sierra Leone. Should have stayed there.

Got my 9 year old daughter a 26 Carrera Abyss just before Christmas for £180. It’s a great bike for the money. Took her a while to make the jump straight from 20,but she loves it now. There’s a girls version as well, but she preferred the boys colour scheme.

Have you ridden a Whyte? I test rode one last year and was very disappointed. Decided to upgrade my old Piglet instead. Highly recommend you try a few bikes before splashing out.

@cobrakai,I’m not convinced I’m quite bonkers enough. Mind you, I did hear a few chuckles the other day when I went crashing into the back of the det commander on a full regimental parade.

Don’t post on here much, but what the hey.

Army Chaplain. Best job in the Army. Hated being the minister of a church which I did for three years. Was a squaddie before that, nice being back in the military environment but without all the bull of being a jnco.

In answer to the original question; in John’s account of Jesus clearing the temple, Jesus says ‘destroy this temple and I will rebuild it in three days.’ John explains that after his death the disciples realise he was talking about himself. In Matthew and Mark’s accounts of Jesus’ trial, witnesses come forward to say they heard him day that. That’s the only reference to three days in the Gospels.

I’d be interested to know for what nefarious purposes the Gospels and Epistles all heavily associate the Crucifixion with Passover?

The area around ballard down/old harry/Studland will be heaving. I’d probably head out on the priest’s way towards Worth then pick up the bridleway from Kingston to Swyre Head, ucr to Kimmeridge and back along the ridge to Corfe and along nine barrow back to swanage. Nothing too technical, a few fast descents. Studland/godlingston heath always worth an explore.

I’ll be down there late this week into next, so could show you a few trails if you’re taking MTBs. Just beware that it is not a top notch b&b though!

If you want the full on ‘Fawlty Towers’ experience, then my mother in law has a B&B in Swanage. Cheap as chips, has a self catering kitchen, bike friendly and you might even get to meet me! She is however totally nuts. It’s called the Beachway Hotel. Tell her Ken sent you.

Campsite wise, there’s loads. Tom’s Farm in Langton Matravers always seems to get a mention.

Love my mk1 Ragley Piglet. So much so that despite having the funds I’ve decided to keep it as my only mountain bike. Reckon it cost under £600 as it is now. However, the first one I had cracked at the seatstay/seat tube weld. Later batches don’t do this supposedly.

Not quite the combo you’re looking for views on, but I’ve recently changed to a purgatory control on the front and a ground control grid on the rear. Both 2.3. It’s great, bike feels planted and controlled, and it goes where I point it. A couple of my local trails are still winter muddy and the tyres just plough through. It’s a slightly draggy setup but not so it spoils the ride. Went up tubeless with no hassle at all. This is on a 120mm steel hardtail (early Ragley Piglet).

Quite enjoyed series 1&2, being an ex squaddie the humour seemed to hit the spot. First episode of new series was a bit rubbish though.

I fell asleep at the cinema on a first date once. When she nudged me to wake me up I shouted at her and told her to leave me alone. We got married a year later (and are still living happily ever after 12 years on).

Nonsense, he’s not poking fun at Hinduism, nor is he encouraging anyone else to. He is a monotheist and believes in the ‘one true God’. To him, anything that takes attention away from that god must originate from that god’s enemy.

As clumsy and unhelpful as the Catholic exorcist’s comments may be, there’s a very significant difference between criticising someone’s religious beliefs and openly mocking them.

If you said to me ‘Mate, your helmet’s not enduro enough, have you thought about one of these Bell Stokers like I’ve got?’ that’s not offensive.

If you said ‘That helmet makes you look like a right *&#@ & *#@’ and then started encouraging people to point and laugh at me, I probably wouldn’t be terribly amused.

Last winter I borrowed a friend’s Elite Crono hydromag for a few months and thought it was brilliant. Unfortunately he wanted it back so a couple of months ago, being on a tight budget, I bought a Minoura B60 new for about 80 quid. I used it for about 10 minutes, cleaned it, packed it up and sent it back. It really was horrible, rough pedal stroke, incredibly noisy, just nasty. Once the refund came through I stumped up the extra £60 and bought the £140 Elite Crono from wiggle. It really is very nice for the money. Working in a bike shop I’ve tried a couple of the tacx mag ones, fluid really is worth the few extra pounds. Much quieter and a much smoother pedalling action than mag.

Coupled with a few sufferfest videos and you’ll be as fit as a fiddle by summer.
