Pendleton are very nice but not cheap.
I use Oakley flannels for riding, they’re part of the snowboard range.

click on the 3 dots on the screen on the app,
    click on the cog,
    motion detection,
    activity zone.
That lets you customise where it’s detecting.

Nearly the end of stout season down here, but I couldn’t resist.

I’ve got this one. Never had to use it though.

They’re still going strong up in Railton.
Had the prize giving for Tas Grav there. Glad I wasn’t driving home.

+1 for the 100% double glazed.
You can ride up hill until your eyeballs sweat with zero fog.

I wanted some hooks in the garage for bags and coats. Also didn’t want it to look like a bought one.

I think I met my own brief.

The Trailcross GTX is the goretex version for winter, which is also brilliant.

Have you tried the 5:10 trail cross?
    They’re pretty breathable.

This is just from my experience, when I went from 3×9 to 1×10, even with a 11-40 cassette, 32 was too low.
I would whole heartedly recommend the Deore 11-51 for 11 speed. It lasts forever and is dirt cheap. The derailleur is also cheap and you can swap the jockey wheels for XT, which have bearings instead of bushings.
Oh, and XTR shifters are worth it if you can find one.

Deore 11 speed cassette and derailleur works a treat. You can use a 12 speed XT derailleur if you want.
    I’d recommend a 34 chain ring as well on a 26er.

    Wheels Manufacturing.
Mine outlasted the Yeti I bought it for & is now in my Kona Rove.

The One Up EDC is really good.
Alas it won’t fit in a Factory 38 so it now has to live in the pump.

I’m a fan of Brooks Cambium saddles.
The first was a C17, which was really comfy, but a little wide at the back.
Now I have a C15 which is perfect. Can ride all day without knicks, it’s that comfortable.

    I use a Mindshift trail.
sounds like it might be what you’re looking for.

+1 for half frame bags. I have the Ortlieb on my Kona Rove and it’s perfect.
Everything I need for a day trip is in one spot and still room for 2 bottles. Easily accessed while riding as well.
For overnight trips I stuff a 3L camelback bladder in it.

    My wife.
She should have died a dozen times before her heart transplant.
But now she’s 10 times stronger.
She’s a speech therapist who has changed the lives of children in less well off areas around Hobart.
Since covid she has been working from home and now services schools all over Tasmania who wouldn’t get a regular speech therapist through telehealth.
In the mean time, she’s on call to council heart transplant recipients & those who have been added to the waiting list.

After upgrading my fork to a Factory 38 & losing the EDC tool storage, I moved the tool to the pump & ditched the frame mount for that too.
Now everything I need is carried in a Dakine hot laps 1L including:
One up 70cc pump and EDC tool with plugger,
6mm allen tool from ikea for axles,
    Pirelli smart tube,
    Leatherman style PS,
    One up chain link tool,
    Wallet,
    Phone,
    Keys,
    Rab Vital jacket,
    Can of craft beer.
Also strap a folding saw on the outside when needed.

I also got a new fork today, though it has a home.

2022 model for less than half price because no-one wants 27.5.
A mate also has Ohlins suspension on his new RAAW Madonna build he’s taking an age to finish.

I’ve got a Rab Vital, which fits in a 1L Dakine bum bag. Only water resistant but does a good job up until then.

I’ve had the micro floor drive HV for years. It’s so old it doesn’t have the pressure release valve on the chuck.
It was the go to pump on our group rides when I still used a back pack.
Now I have a One Up on the MTB, the floor drive has moved on to the gravel bike. Perfect for that which doesn’t need high pressure & sits in the half frame bag out of the muck.

@Alex I’ve just sold my Switchback after 20 years. It was a great bike at the time, but now it felt short, high & steep.

    @jimmy
I did that to my first frame as well. Had a rigid fork on the brand new frame while I waited for a Vanilla 125. Hit a rock at speed & it crumpled. Punctured the front, but rode it out.

Banshee Runes have a 63.5º head angle and 76º seat tube angle, which I wouldn’t call old school.
It is a lot fun to ride. A 180mm fork certainly takes the edge off the hits as well.

I’d buy any other helmet that doesn’t have the peak so high that it doesn’t actually keep the sun out of your eyes.

Good luck with it all Keando.
My wife got a mechanical valve job in 2005, but in the end a transplant was the best option for her in 2018.
She has never been stronger in her whole life than she is now.
It’s amazing what the doctors can do these days.

Ticked off the big granite wall ride on cuddles.

I got the Endura bibs with room for a water bladder.
    You’ll only try that once.
Otherwise, the pockets are very secure, almost too hard to access. A jacket in there can get sweaty.
Prefer a bum bag for crying stuff these days.

The LBS was selling Pirelli smart tubes for $10, so I grabbed one for the bumbag.
Only used it once for a puncture that was too big to plug & it did the job well. I was going to take it easy on the way home, but I forgot it was there & rode as normal.
Back in the bumbag for another day.

Finally got the workbench together in my new workshop.
Could have been a bit tidier and hidden the screws and still have a couple of bits to finish.
But it’s good to finally have some space to do stuff.

I believe it’s only the shifter and derailleur having a different pull ratio which means they have to be used together.
Linkglide and HG 11 speed chains are interchangeable.

I liked the look of those Cues cranks until I looked up the installation documents.
It needs a flipping crank extractor to remove them, so that’s a hard pass from me.

What an event. So many people on the mountain. Putting a bar in the container used for the drop was a brilliant idea. The videos really don’t do justice to how bloody big it was.
Here’s Connor Fearon on his way to the hot seat.

I’ve got the Dakine 5L and it’s good when I need the water, but my old Drafter carries more water better, though it means going back to a backpack.
Now my bike can hold a full size bottle, I went for the Dakine Stealth. It’s good for the phone/wallet/keys, but I went up to the 1L with room for a light jacket & external loops to carry a folding saw.
The Dakine 1L is the perfect bumbag.
