Have a look at Mountain Edge We have a full fleet of Hire bikes and we’re based in the Gorgeous Austrian town of Kitzbuhel. Huge lake is 10 minutes cycle away and the mountains are pretty accessible for non riders too.

Our Hire fleet last summer consisted of a number of dawgs – most people found them great all round bikes, in fact I rode one for about the half the time I was guiding. We ran them with Ignitors for most of the season, and I could tell the difference in rolling speed between those and the high rollers on my own bike. if you’re only riding trail centres you could try a crossmark, or maybe a 2.35 larsen tt – very fast rolling indeed but pretty pants in the wet.

Palma. Its a fantastic place, especially if you stay in the old town. I would recommend the Hotel Tres They have a room top hot tub with amazing views of the cathedral and the beach

Have you booked your flight yet? if not then I would strongly suggest that you avoid ryanair.
we had some clients this summer flying from london to salzburg/munich with ryanair and the number of damaged bikes was much higher than with any other carrier. they also put a dent in one of my own bikes… I travel regularly and know how to wrap up my bikes, so they did an impressive job in denting it. I’ve flown a few times with easyjet and they seem to be much more reliable.

As for the weight question – could you not pack your panniers into a bigger bag, then just organize it when you get there?

Bunnyhop – I know what you mean. Im based in Boulder, Colorado at the moment, warmest temp today was -11C. but the biking here is fantastic, I can get a free bus ride (with my bike) to the local ski resort! bring on the summer

Salt lake city is a bit closer than Denver, but the drive along I-70 from Denver is quite nice in the summer. You can fly into Grand Junction pretty cheaply and then its only an hours drive south. Have a look at Frontier or Southwest

Am I the only one that actually likes Singletrack as it currently is?!

All the suggestions covered above seem to be in the mag at some point during the year, how could they fit more of everything in all the time? my main suggestion would be to carry on as the mag is, I think the balance is just right!
