Can anyone recomend a very good padlock and chain?

Then you could push the chain into a "setting" large bucket/container of concrete.

I reckon this would be good.

But as coffeeking says, they "may" be able to cut through the chain/padlock with "croppers".

The mark up on bikes, bits and clothing is very high. If I cant get 10% off anything in a LBS I usually walk.

Also when your in the shop you can see if they will match a price you have seen on the internet, they usually match it or get very close.

    Buyers market, simples.

Never got discount from Asda, Tesco etc. but have tried loads of times.
Got discount on some £80.00 trainers from JD Sports, the spoty sales kid said "No" I said get your boss please and he give me some discount because i was friendly, nice and to the point. You cant be blunt and cold, make em laugh make em your friend.

£ 500 is a fair price for a set of carbon wheels but you want the tubs and cassette thrown in and the wheel bags, although quite a few of my mates have had Zipps, good wheels except for when they go wrong, the after service is less than sh1te, look out for small cracks on the rims near the spokes, Zipp DO NOT say these are a fault but I have heard and seen loads doing this. DEFO not a commute wheel, unless your mega minted.

Carbon Bontrager wheels are a lot better option (just again for racing or fast training), sorry but true.Askium or even better Ksriums are both "bomb" proof wheels and fine for Commute wheels, I have had all four types of wheels mentioned in this thread and still have three of them.

Ok Dougal, that's cleared that up, just getting back into MTB'ing after a long time road racing, my last shifters were Suntour thumbies, probably the same time you were still in liquid form. 8)

Hope to spank your butt on a trail sometime soon

    5.5 hours ????

I though you guys were supposed to be quick

Some of us are  Seriously though,it was a tough route and it took in some extra climbs for the "fun" of it,the route was not the most direct either as the weather was perfect. 8) 8)

Also need to sort it out with the other riders, was it 4.5 or 5.5 hrs, i didn't take note?

Looks like your really enjoying yourself KKF.

Not Really, that was in "The tour of the North" Ireland, fourth stage, bit out of my depth and that is a long drag to the finish even though it does not look it.

The route is in my mates head, when i do it and will let you lot know and maybe we could organise it again. 8)

Hi chaps, This Sunday will just be a fast tempo ride as the racing season (road) is coming to an end in a month and just need to keep it going for a few more weeks, as I dont have a race this weekend.

Please pm me or include me in your steadier rides in future.

    Cheers Jay.

I'm glad Thor won the green jersey, he's hunky looking, but Cav looks like a swollen toe and makes me feel a little sick.

Love this point of view, agree that Thor is a more classier bike rider, although both not my cup of tea.

But the sprint on the Champs, well f0ok me that was nearly as good as self pollution!!
