ChrisE, I have loads of pictures and sure some of the "Refugi's", climbs and paths look the same.

There was four of us, me and three German guy's(very well organised people and between us had 5 languages which helped)

We also were self supported, ie. a minimum weight in our ruck sack, slept rough a few times as we where between villages.

We did not realise the effect of the extra weight on our backs for two weeks, "chapped arses" AHOY!!. That was the only issue we had, just bought loads of nappy rash cream from where ever. AWESOME ROUTE !!!

I rode all the way up it last week without "dabbing":D

Also saw the downhill race's down it in the 1990's, saw some superbly painful crashes on the events.

They started at the top of the pike, right at the bottom along Georges Lane and then down the "icecream run/Elimantor".

It was so radical dude back in the day, everyone was well stoked with their DCD's on, an awesome event, I almost did a 540 Wilton as I was bodacious with my coaster brake on full lock.

Correct BAB, the Parque Nacional del Teide is all off limits but there are some awesome routes in the Anaga Mountains, Masca and Arico + loads more.

There is also a downhill/feeride park now.

Lived there for a few years and done loads of MTB'ing, you defo need local knowledge, if your a real nut try La Gomera as well, if you think Tenerife is hilly f00k me Gomera is mental. :D

'we were at Warp factor 11 at the time '

You liar Kingkongsfinger, everyone knows that Warp factor 10 is the theoretical maximum.

Not if you realign the dilithium crystals and feed the power from the plasma conduit, as adt says he can hit warp factor 11 up hill, even with a wooden leg!! 8)

"We" were out last night (6 of us).

Saw two large groups, one as we were decending down the Chinese Gardens near the bottom close to the carpark, we were at Warp factor 11 at the time so I just shouted "KKF" at a bunch of bright lights climbing up and then another bunch at about 8pm at top barn.

At the moment its good to ride UP the eliminator, did it without dabbing the other night. 8)

Its mint up there at the moment, nice and dry.

As for applications to ride……………..

I was a bit worried when I arrived. Some of the lads looked superfit. One rider had triathlon bars on his bike as he didn't know how much of it was on the road, another had his name on his bike – always a sign of confidence – and did it in 4hrs 20 last year (did he win?).

    What was his name ?

The quarry… its the path that runs parallel to sheep house lane down to Belmont. See the arrow ?

I always thought the Eliminator was anoher name for the Ice Cream Run, after they ran the Downhill Eliminator there in 1996.

Your right on both accounts, several names for the ice cream/ elimantor, not done "the quarry" path but seen it from the road as i head towards Blackdog on my left.
I assume you get on it at the end of Georges lane at Sheephouses?

Lowey is right with "coalpit" got my bearings wrong.

The Quarry is that the really rocky decent that brings you out at the carpark, if do we call it the Eliminator? :?:
