I’ve just fitted Kings with Sram 10spd cassette on an otherwise Record 10spd bike and it works better than the previous Campag wheel
I know it’s not supposed to work but it does 🙂

I rode it last year and can confirm what an awesome event it is – such a variety of folks doing it too, from ex/near-pros to kids on shoppers!!Weather last year was shocking but proper Flandrian, a really well run event with feed stops etc all done, a top experience all round topped off by chips n’mayo and beers at the end 🙂
Am sure there was a mushroom cloud showing on Google Earth where I blew up on the Bosberg !
    Enjoy!

My LBS ordered my shimano axle from Madison, while the dropout chips came from Evolution/ Yeti

from experience, any drag is normally from the needle bearings inside the freehub body. Remove axle, clean inside freehub with GT85 and a toothbrush, quick squirt of Ringdrive lube or green Finish Line chainlube then re-assemble.
Sorted mine in about 5 mins 🙂

I saw a new 2011 Yeti 575 demo bike at Chase Cycles at Cannock the other day – think they have it off the rep for over Xmas?

indeed they are the BMC chrome Jawbones altho Cav had green lower jaws to the frame whereas the ones to buy are black.
They aren't on oakley.co.uk as, as far as I understand, Cycle Surgery have them exclusively in the UK and only had 30 sets…

For a burly 36-led build, you'd be better off on an Asr7 – still be under 30lb too and climbs super well 🙂

from my own experimening on my 1×10, your 'regular' 9 speed, or road rear mech would work but only with the 10-speed flatbar shifters.

Once you have (dyna-sys) XT 10 speed shifters then you do need a new 10spd rear mech too, not even a 10 spd road mech will work.
Am still experimening though as one of plus points to me of 1x is to have a nice short cage rear mech. The new DynaSys XT rear mech has a seemingly very long cage….
For info, I am using a Sram 10spd road chain and an E13 Guide Ring

well despite it not supposed to work….

I popped my rear Chris King road hub with a Sram 10 speed cassette into my Dad's Record 10 equipped bike and it worked absolutely perfectly without even any need for adjustment.
I know it shouldn't have but it did :-/

I use Finish Line green wet chain lube in mine if I don't have any King lube – just don't use thick grease!

surely through madison.co.uk as they are the DT distributor? I got mine through them but most shops deal with Madison so give your lbs the part number required.

I've just converted a 240s (centrelock) from 15mm to qr and to a DT RWS skewer too but not sure if you can go upto a 20mm?

I've just been on a 'Driver Awareness' course to escape the 3 points having been caught at 70 on a dual carriageway in my Vito van.

Although some folks are saying that windows in the side and seats in the back are a good thing – my van is officially classified as a LGV, hence limited to 50 on a single and 60 on a dual carriageway.
Quite a few other folks I know with similar vehicles have been done in the last month or two so they are obviously cracking down on vans.
I looked into getting mine re-clasified but apparently it al comes down whether it is a 'car-derived van' and less about windows and seats…seems a bt of a grey area tho as the friendly officer on my course couldn't answer it either :-/

sure sounds like bit of water in there but probably doesn't need full service that requires the King hub tool – just pull apart yourself and wipe through the hub. Only takes 5 mins to keep them super sweet 🙂

my lad now sadly (for me) lives with my ex but he's a cracking dog – needs plenty of exercise but will happily run behind a bike. Although then he sees any bike and thinks it's his owner 🙂
Everyone will ask you if he is some kind of Weimeraner.. although I was once asked why I had shaved my Red Setter :-/

As said above – you can convert a QR hub to 15mm but only the 20mm one to the Mav 24mm….

thanks all – how has the new INbred build gone – do you need to get chaintugs too?
A Simple would be perfect if I can get a 2nd hand one as not keen on the new colours…

strangely enough, try taking your gear hanger off and popping a dob of grease on the back plate of it before you put it back on. Cured my mystery Asr creak

Same situation for me too but got told today that the internet connection is lots faster on the Nokia E71 than Blackberry, somthing about Edge connectivity not being as good as HPsomething … actually spoke to someone helpful in the o2 shop after months of frustration trying to get sense out of 3!
