I would read ‘blood meridian’ but I found it took me a while to read as some of the language used played havok with dyslexia. So glad I stuck with it. One of my all time faveorate books, the imagery is stunning and the depth you have for the characters is something few other authours have got close to. I’m going to re-read it again, like a OK computer or my old Marin Hawk Hill 2004, you forget just how good it is, and after introducing it to people they learn to love it too.

I’m glad solarider is talking sense. My girlfriend has a White j12 (not my cuppa tea) it’s more than a fasion watch as you rightly said. Chanel would never put thier name on a watch not worthy of the brand. If I was to have my time again or forced to retrain I think I could see myself as a bespoke watch maker.

That b&r is not too my taste. I don’t know what jewler BillMC went to, but that’s not quite the case. Swatch own a few premium brands and platform share the movement between brands. Vostok have a military look due to thier roots, they have tried to go like IWC and crack the premium Market. If you want a tough watch made in Russia get a Kalashnikov, it’s far cheaper and has a novelty value that will appeal to office warriors and middle managment hardmen.

Cynical-al I expect you can tell the quality of the said watch. If you consider it value is down to your own agenda and views, but the build quality between a premium watch and a highstreet one is evident. Why do people expect you to have to justify your watch?

Swatch group own Omega among other brands. You won’t find the same mechanics in a £30 swatch. I love the look of the Panerai range

Dunno D4devlivity, blue palamino said you can get them. I’d sooner a simular priced highstreet watch over a fake, anyone seen those MR2’s that are chavved up to look like Ferarri F355’s?

Were they specialist pencils? I have ordered pencils off the Internet I could not get in my local art shop? Or do you live on an island 100’s miles away from any art shops? Otherwise then like someone said. Prat.

Hi tails, i consider myself a fine artist, however I have been commisioned by various big companies for my graphics style. All I can say is a designer lives and dies by his/her portfolio. Also it’s important to pitch your portfolio at the client, the example you have shown may not be inspiring in design terms but may communicate to the client everything that it needs to. Often portfolios can look too fussy. Keep it simple keep it neat. I’ve just been building my new website, still in progress (hope to do more tommorow) it’s difficult making an online portfolio to suit everyone. Big clients like universal/KIA/mac cosmetics music have been positive about the colours and layout were as people buying pencil drawings prefer a more simple approach and look.

Owning a preimum brand watch has drawbacks. Lots of people will tell you that thier Seiko is better and tell you facts about how better it is or how much deeper they can dive. Also people will tell you what a good fake it is and how to the untrained eye it would be convincing but that they are experts and can’t detect the subtle differences, but don’t worry they won’t tell anyone your secrets safe. I’m a simple soul, i don’t want a flash car, nor a flash house, I don’t want the best of everything, but I do like watches. I like the idea of a small piece of engineering and hertiage in a watch.

My sister lives in rural Dorset and Is an on call medic, she has a Subaru Forester which she says is ideal and has never let her down the only problem she has had has been ground clearence, she had a Suzuki Grand Vitara before and it coped in floods easier. Don’t know if a Panda would be okay, I drove a Panda 100hp the other day and loved it.

My girlfriends mum treated me to a Rolex datejust, it’s a limited edition one and more bling than I would have picked for myself (I’m not complaining) I used to have a Tag Heuer F1 that I had for over 12 years, it’s still ticking away in my drawer, I like watches and wouldn’t buy one purely for the name but I understand how some people do as a status symbol. Depends if your the kind of person who would buy a ferarri as you like driving/engineering/motorsport or because it’s a ferarri.

Jonv I’m glad it’s not just me with the lights, it drives my gf mad, I can’t go out and relax if one switch us upside down. We like to leave a light on when were out, I couldn’t cope with knowing a light switch was upside down, we’ve got timers now on lamps, I don’t mind sockets being upside down as they’re not going to hurt me or laugh at me when my backs turned.

Light switches, can’t have them ‘upside down’ when not on. Fill kettle to an even number. Clean teeth after every meal ( carry a fuzzy brush for outdoors) all my art kit has to be in order, paints in rainbow order etc… If I’m Reading a book can’t leave it on an odd number.

My friend has one and loves it. He had a golf r32 before and always bangs on about how much better the focus is. It’s in Jaffa cake orange, claims a mirchilago owner once flashed him at a distance, as if signalling they had the same ride. Recon it’s bullsh.

According to a friend Blood Meridians in production, a quick look on IMDB would back this up. Screen play by Todd Field. I doubt these days censors would ruin anything, in a world of bbfc rated nasties, men behind the sun, cat in the brain (laughable) it won’t be too censored. Even mainstreems Cinema like saw is pushing the envolope. I can’t wait for this one.

Insuring a pets a bit different to extending the warranty on your kettle. Do some people not insure thier bikes?

Pet plan have been superb, paying out over £1800 in total. When my cat was stolen they were sympathetic and assisted the police. My I recomended them to my sister who has two labradors, they have been great with them to. I don’t know how someone can say ALL insurance is s scam.
