The land that time forgot with modern CGI.. oh and with Kelly Brook and Beyonce in it. That’s the important bit.

Cycled past a G reg MX5 a few times before I went on hols, £1500!
    POSTED 56 MINUTES AGO # REPORT-POST

There’s one down my road for £1000 sills are rusty though, I wouldn’t buy it. Condition is everything with MX5’s. Mine was a 2003 and the sills were gone as it looked like it had never been garaged, my mate took it in PX at his garage I paid a bit more than the PX had some fun in it then got rid during that 1 week heatwave (possibly that was summer) the MR2 we have now is lovely. I much prefer it to the MX5 but MX5’s are alot of fun, I wouldn’t have one unless it was going to be garaged.

I always wanted one, nearly brought one. Mechanic friends and people in the trade I know put me off, they need more TLC than most cars but not as unreliable as some would have you believe. High running costs means there’s some cheap second hand ones about. IIRC you can’t drop the rear seats so no good for bike lugging.

Sisters boyfriends 6’5 just gets in MR2, struggled more in MX5. I think you can stick the seat father back in the MR2 and the door handle doubles as a handle to help get out. He said he would add a flat bottomed wheel if he were to buy one. I’m only 5’9 so no issues here 🙂

We struggled to find a decent MR2 but eventually did last week, all the good condition convertibles are getting sold fast at the moment. Plenty of bad ones about. If you factor in buying higher then selling lower in the winter and don’t mind losing the difference why not. I did the reverse buying an MX5 in December and selling it in June made a few hundred (after I factored in my fuel, tax and insurance) We intend to keep the MR2 though it’s been cherished.

I quite like it, for me it’s a found object in an unusual place that causes a response in the viewer especially those beneth it. Is it art? That’s up to you and what art means to you. The brackets do look sloppy though, I’d have preferred the integrity of the rocks mass to be spoiled with an internal bracket of some kind that’s not visibile.

Similar problem however my numbers on business website. 02 told me if you answer the calls or reply to texts even ‘stop’ your number gets sold on as one that’s active and thus you get more. I don’t know if it was 02 trying to cover the fact they can’t/wont block the calls/texts. At it’s worse I was getting 9 texts an hour for 7 hours a day. Now I just get s couple a day which is easier to ignore.

That’s a lovely rendering Samurai, hand you seen Armin Mersmanns work? For me he blends photorealism into a more drawn style, he is my favourite graphite artist. You on the right line with hair, but it looks as though the erasers your using are either too thick or your paper is too toothy for the style you draw in. I will do a hair tutorial and post it up here next week. The best erasers I’ve found for hair are ‘maped tip top’ you have to buy them in packs of 5 off amazon as not many shops stock them, the edges are really fine ideal for showing strands. I can’t tell from the images what paper your using but something really smooth like Bristol board would compliment your style, your good at getting skin tones to blend and smooth paper would highlight that.

Nice painting PDF, looks good next to your guitars.

I smoke around 8 Cuban cigars a year, and I love the taste and aftertaste, the smell and being in the garden enjoying them.

I used to smoke cigarettes off and on. The reason I started was stupid, someone at school had a pack and shared them out, I was the only one that didn’t cough or choke on their first attempt, I got instant cool so carried on. Smoked from 14-16, Quit easily due to expense and thinking of cancer, started again in my early 20 for 6 months or so but quit when a family member died. If I’m honest I don’t like cigarette smoking unlike cigars.

still got the top layer to add to this work in progress, its about the same size in real life as it appears on here which is quite a bit smaller than i usually work.

Nice work Samuri, I really like what I think is a self portrait. It’s got a good sense of character. I will add a few in a bit.

What would require in terms of servicing?Tune up twice a year
What jobs would you consider taking your bike in for ?As above or if I crashed/damaged it etc…
How many of you regulary service your bikes a:yourself or b: at an lbs?Part myself tune up twice a year
Name the brands do you like to see ? bikes or components?Hope, Cotic, Endura, DMR
Do you prefer a Custom build or “off the peg” bike: Custom
Do you prefer to buy online or prefer instore but price dependent
Any other views on what you DO or Don’t like to see in a bike shop.
I like 69 cycles in Hoole Cheshire, good mechanic, never tried to rip me off, very friendly, never patronising, I like the window so you can see into the workshop bit too (although I think it was added so they can see if customers pop in) I don’t like the specialised shop as it’s very sterile.

Mx5’s are nice, a great drive, but thats pretty much all they are good for as you just can’t get anything in/on them!

He he I managed to get my bike in mine a few times. The MR2 has even less space with no real boot but that’s not what we brought it for. It’s going to have a more pampered life. Looked nice on the drive this morning as it’s the same colour as my celica its sitting next to (yes I know how sad that sounds) Will be garaged at the weekend. I don’t think I will get bored of starting it up and hearing the engine behind me for a while.

Yesterday I followed a Zonda F through Chester, I’ve always liked Zondas but only seen them at shows. Seeing one on the road was a different matter, the weave of the carbon fibre in the early evening sun and the noise it made. I’d love to drive one down to Italy for a weekend. Whoever it was driving it thankyou you made my day and my day dreams 🙂

My sister had one, really liked it but very very thirsty. She now has a golf GTD 170hp. She had no issues with the R32 when she had it, just found the running costs were too high when her milage increased.

I visited a house were the homeowner had one done of a view looking down a tall building into a street from a tall building in New York (his photo) it was in a small landing were his stairs turned 90 degrees and had a really off putting sense if vertigo. His whole house was filled with curiosities (Inc himself) and stuffed animals. I wouldn’t say he was a Chav just very eccentric. On the other hand a house a few doors down from were I used to live had a huge one in the lounge of a cityscape at night that did look chavvy as it didn’t fit the room/house, would have been more suited to a bar. Suppose it’s a matter of taste and what you have printed and how it works in the space.

All I need to do is draw pretty pictures and then help others try and draw as prettier. Occasionally a story board is thrown in.

Thanks guys, it’s a roll up one. Fitted by cordula in 1998 with a 10 bit encoded fob to open it. I would put it in the flimsy category. I will be putting a ground anchor in for the bikes. Since we only have one fob (the previous owner only purchased one according to the recipt) and the car we will garage will only be used occasionally having a n electric door isn’t really important to us, we don’t intend to move fir a long time so keeping it as a selling feature isn’t an issue and by the time we plan to move it will no doubt need/be replaced from wear and tear anyhow. I’ve seen some electric doors that seem ‘proper’ this ones more a ‘toy’.

Last time I knew my weight was about a year ago at a medical. I can see in a mirror if I’m putting weight on and from my daily activities if I feel slow and need to train harder. Too busy to be fussy over slight changes in weight and too laid back to obsess about it.

Not really one for the STW court of law, one for common sense. Stick your dish behind a tree then moan the signal gets disrupted. Tuff titty for them.

My fiancees brother works similar, he used to block book a travelodge but now has discovered a B&B he uses every week. He uses the train and works on it rather than driving and gets a lift when he arrives. Rather him than me but he enjoys the commute and doesn’t mind been sway from the family for 2 nights. Depends on if the £25k, tax and extra travel is worth it to you and how stable etc you see the new job. Back when I was single, I used to go to London once a week with work and stay with a female friend overnight in her one bed flat… Which sweetened the whole commute deal. Good luck.

My most stupid advert is the student Nick Johoba (sp) who is parachuting while trying to take photos of a model for his coursework. He wants the perfect shot before he hits the ground. Rubbish that, it’s for a phone but I couldn’t tell you which phone.

Thanks for the opinions, rx7’s are really nice looking. I’m glad you love it 🙂

We tested a few mr2’s and mx5’s today. Think we’ve decided on am MR2 facelift 03 onwards. Just looking for a mint one. A few time wasters today including a ‘tidy black’ mx5 that turned out to be purple (and very rusted) a nice enough MR2 were going for a second look at.

Thanks for the feedback, of the 2 the MR2 is still winning for me. However the cabin and switchgear is very similar to my Celica, wondering if it’s going to feel different enough in the long term.

My fiancé had an s2000 and really liked it, however were looking for something cheaper to buy and run. We’ve narrowed it down to an MR2 or MX5 and due to friends/family in trade if we stick to Toyota & Mazda we can get discounted service/parts. I got an MX5 (mk2) over the winter very cheaply from a mate in the trade, mechanically sound but the sills and hood were rotten, still had some fun in it and made some profit reselling it on a sunny day (after deductions of insurance, tax, fuel etc.) sorry to see it go but the intention was to buy a mint one now we’ve moved and have a garage and keep it for a few years. I have a celica and really like the vvti and prefer the looks of the mr2, were viewing a few cars on Friday, trying to find a mint MX5 limited edition such as a phoenix but they’re proving very sought after.
