15ish miles to some dirt jumps and back on my BFe, yesterday, 2 offs and sore today making me realise I’m getting too old for this jumping lark. Still going out later I think, not quite ready for a soul yet.

I replaced mine with a BFe, but the kind if riding I was doing was different. My BFe is not really a direct replacement, a soul would be the closer match to the P7, if I wasn’t doing more jump these days I would have probably gone for a soul. Getting too many aches and pains though from the dj and realising I’m not 18 anymore so perhaps a souls next as I fancy mincing about trail centres.

TBH I think a lot of them are from the same mould Evans Halshaw are a bunch of lying shitsters too !.
    POSTED 57 SECONDS AGO # REPORT-POST

Do they have the ‘runabouts’ sideline? I rang them about an MX5:” what’s the mileage” “low mate” “ok what is it?” “50k”
“That’s not really low for an mx5 of that age” “is low miles for us, we have focuses with 130k on the clock its a low miles car” “it’s not a focus though is it? Are the sills rotten” “no” drive to see it on the off chance, sills rotten. Salesman hides behind the ‘runabout’ branding “its just a runabout really… ”

My friend wanted an Astra VXR Nurburgring and had been looking for a while when the local AC surprisingly got one in. He ended up saying he would buy it but when he came to collect the Odo was reading 100-odd miles more and the car was filthy inside and out. The salesman said it wasn’t my mates property as he hadn’t bought it yet and a few of the lads had been using it. He didn’t buy it after that.

Our own experience was just as dire, a cocky young salesman in an ill fitting suit wouldn’t shut up about an SLK he had despite my missus telling him she had one previous and didn’t want another. He kept saying stuff like imagine a Merc on your drive, its a Merc it won’t break. He then got confused about which wheels were the driven ones, when my petrol head missus realised he didn’t have a clue she asked him to do a search for a Diesel MX5, he did after he stopped staring at her chest. He colleague told us they don’t do a diesel MX5 and ill suit boy looked smug without realising we were wasting his time. A bit of a joke set up really.

    Re: removing deodorant stains.

If the garment is white or light coloured particularly if the stains are ‘yellow’ rub a lemon into the stains then soak it in a bucket with lemon juice in warm-ish water. Then wash at 30 with chopped up lemon, wash at 40 to remove lemon from clothes and stains are gone. For darker garments use white vinegar.

I found Dove deodorant to be the best and not too expensive.

I do art tutoring and have had an influx recently of new clients which is nice.

My own new hobby is running and I’m determined to properly learn to use my SLR this year.

As Andy said Wiggles own are the best of the budget ones. I had some muddy fox £9.99 as box was missing in the summer sale they lasted about 3 months which was good for a tenner but I wouldn’t pay full price. I don’t think they are that bad but not worth bothering with compared to wiggles. I stopped buying expensive ones years ago as the bottoms always came off or worked lose.

I once had a dream my sister put a ‘baby on board’ sticker on her tummy to tell the world. Odd dream that since she is a lesbian.

    Congratulations.

Not my house but here’s a few from when I was a builders labourer. All on same house.

Took a bathtub out to find 3 double electric sockets behind (all live)

Toilet wasn’t fitted correctly, dripped poo, wee and whatever else into playroom below.

As usual on clothing threads MrSmith is on the money. Trickers for me are not cheap but worth the extra £, I have had mine for about 6 months now very comfy & well made. I would prefer one pair of proper boots than several others.

Our dopey and soon to be retired boiler is set to 30 it will occasionally switch on but give out around 15 for an hour or so but then take a nap for a few days. New one fitted in a few weeks can’t wait to stop having to shower at the gym!

Not an issue for us as were 5’9” & 5’2″ but my 6’4″ BIL gets in better in our MR2 than he did in the MX5’s I know someone whose 6′ and uses hers as a daily driver. Go and drive one, see who you get on, so much fun you won’t notice its a bit cramped.

If you do look to buy look at condition and the sills and wheel arches, inside between the skins should be free of debris. The limited edition ones have more toys. If its not going to be garaged a cover is a must and give the hood some TLC removing any mould right away.

We have have a 2.5 and a 3, liked them both but love the MR2 we have now. They get used all year round absolute hoot.

    g) probably far more useful/valid than asking a load of strangers on a forum.

Not really, owners opinions could point you in a better long term direction than a test drive alone.

Finacee’s company car is a Golf Bluemotion and its boring inside and out. My sister has a diesel 170bhp thing and that’s slightly less boring. My friend is a VAG mechanic and reckons they are over complicated and poorly designed he drives a Honda. In all honesty I can’t see the attraction with golfs I’d feel a bit mugged at the asking prices. I’ve had a focus as a hire care and it was ok for what it was.

Damitamit, have you got any other modifications on yours?
Nope, it’s lowered, got GT side skirts and covered keyholes. That’s about it (oh, and painted calipers and uprated pads). I actually managed to find one that had all the mods I wanted already done, so bought it like that.
    Is yours a TSport?

Yes, I have had some memorable drives in it. I just happened upon a ‘mint’ facelift one from a friend in the trade and was really lucky but it took us ages to find a good MR2, we wanted a facelifted one but just couldn’t find a straight one that wasn’t way over book price. Settled for this late 52 from another Toyota club member.

not quite the same as a living creature, but i gave my old dyson away on freecycle and got a text a few weeks later saying it needed a new motor and i needed to pay half! some people are like that even with free things, what exactly do these pets need thats costing £100 from the vet?

Dont know if my two count, had an MX5 before the MR2 and liked that but love the MR2. Both slightly tuned and great fun. Couldnt find an image of the 2 together so ignore Queen-Ocelot, & any jokes about ‘bikes’ will get a poke in the eye 🙂 The celica is my main car (i only do 6k in it a year though prefer to walk/cycle) can take 3 bikes with seats down and has a very wide laod area which is ideal for delivering my paintings.

Thankyou! it does look like a grey wagtail except the flash above the eye is yellow. the yellow on the body is on the top of the chest and the bottom with white in between.

EDIT: thanks its a grey wagtail, some do seem to have slightly more yellow on the head than others http://greaterkentbirder.blogspot.co.uk/2012/02/peregrines-and-wagtails.html, the one ive seen is very yellow.

I found cartridge world ones to be a gamble so stick to branded ones now. I had a leaky one from cartridge world took it back and they replaced it with another leaky one. Put me off as I use the printer for work and wasted half a day cleaning it etc… The branded ones print better too but as said above if you only do text it’s not an issue as much.

Gen 7 Celica? Mines not skipped a beat despite been tuned a bit. My mates is on 190k with only services and consumables since he had it new. The pre-facelift ones like a bit more oil than the newer 03 ones but you can pick one up for £900. Easily get bikes in the back with seat down and the 140 bhp version isn’t too thirsty and easier to sell on (lower insurance etc.) sits nice on motorway and the seats are really comfy but do need a bit of adjustment to be prefect on long journeys. Trusty engine and council estate ferarri looks bargain.

Half-life. I love that game, everything was just right for its time, the graphics and animation were spot on, the character design was different Freeman being a scientist not a macho hero, multiplayer was great I loved the ‘crossfire’ map and the sounds were good, even on the menu the sound effects were good clicking from menu to menu. Superb game I spent hours enjoying. I used to lead scientists to their deaths, that was funny edging someone down a lift shaft. Really great for its time and hugely influential in the ‘playable tutorial’ aspect. It had time scale too the story went from morning to night then day again.

But as said before no doom/quake no half life, so its gotta be one of those two. Half-Life was the perfect evolution of what they started.

    Great thread again race face

Stopped having it at DRs advice to stabilise my anxiety. Just drink caffeine free tea now, if I have a few ‘proper’ cups I get a headache.
