I was with a gorgeous girl for 5 years up till I was about 27 she started talking marriage etc and I just didn’t want to get married and settle down. I liked having few ties, disposable income and moving around.

I’m now engaged to another gorgeous girl and getting married in August. It’s obvious now I hadn’t met ‘the one’ (pass the suck bucket) it wasn’t about giving up the things I like as I have found I don’t need to.

Late 80s early 90s, a lad told a teacher to f-off and had a bar of soap put in his mouth were he had to keep it for the rest of the lesson.

I got caught with a group of mates skiving in the woods and starting a bon fire, our punishment was to be excluded for 2 days were we spent them going to the woods and starting a Bon fire. The guy was wearing a school uniform we stole from lost property.

Thanks, the figure will be between £35 & £40k, I was thinking of 2 ISA’s and maybe premium bonds.

They are great fun but I expect bundles will get better soon as units need shifting. A mate in the know thinks better bundles will be offered around Easter but RRPs to stay the same. I think given your children’s age they will enjoy it but adults may get bored quickly at the limited range if games.

Both my car are 2003 Toyotas, MR2 & celica. Never had an issue with either. My celica (made in japan) is coming up to 100k I’ve done 64k of that without an issue. I don’t think interiors are anywhere close to VAG’s though in terms of plastic quality but they seem equally well put together from my experience with no rattles in either car yet. I like the high revvy Yamaha engine and the suspension set up. My dad’s Mazda 6 ( ok it’s a mondeo) hasn’t missed a beat either. I’ve had 2 mx5s in the past which started everytime after winter hibernation one needed a new clutch and the other a set of discs by that was all.

I can only go off personal and limited experience but my ex’s 206 was shit, my girlfriends 206 was shit, my mates new a3 has been in and out of the garage trying to sort an engine light on the dash. My sister has had a few golfs R32, GTi and currently a GTD 170 which have all been nice to drive but a bugger to work on. My MG was a joke and my fiat was fun but bits just dropped off.

My next car will hopefully be a GT-86 or a BRZ.

10k miles of details! **** that, fill it up on empty then fill it up again on empty. Do the math, that’ll do,

This. 10k miles of details, why? It must have become an obsession.

I don’t even have an mpg display in my car.

Why is this directed at VAG owners? Are they renowned for good mpg figures?

Pfft, my first car a fiat ciquencto (spell check if you care) cost me £0.00 ran it for 12 months only cost me a tax disc, then it died outside a scrap yard I pushed it inside got £200 for it and a lift home and used the £200 to buy my second car a fiesta that lasted a year.

My dad retired I helped sell off some of his building kit and vehicles.

Buyer: does this pick up truck tip?
Me: no it’s not a tipper sorry, see description.
Buyer: ok I wanted a tipper and in white so can you knock a bit off the price?

Edit: he then offered me a price about £100 below what people were already bidding.

They are utter utter shit I used to work for them when I was at uni (making appointments over the phone) I wouldn’t let them near my house or thier sister kitchen company.

I have had to replace sensors twice in our MR2 both times after using sainsburys fuel , my mate a Toyota technician said both times it was due to the fuel mix. I also used Sainsburys in my celica daily driver and it didn’t feel as responsive to the shell I usually use. I know this debate can run on and on but from my personal experience (maybe due to my cars both have similar engines) there’s a difference between shell & sainsburys fuel .

I think the petrol V-power only really makes a difference if the engine is tuned to make the most of it.

Not sure if I understand the trick. But can he see inside the box? From seeing one side of the dice you can tell what’s on the other. Opposite sides add up to 7 etc.

The younger guy won’t stick around. Think of your children and yourself. Tough times mate. You will get through it.

Been there with anxiety. Took boxing lessons. You can normally find a punch bag local to you on eBay for less than £20 which helped me. Make a list of triggers, and avoid things that make you ‘angry’ then slowly re-introduce them one by one. If you brain feels a bit foggy sometimes get some air and don’t think too much about stuff, just enjoy the freedom and don’t go home till your heads clear. If you make the effort to leave the house make it worthwhile.

Stuff like this can pass. Been there. Get it. Happy to help.

I gave a lift home to someone this week, he was impressed with the selection of CD’s in my car and insisted I ‘auditioned’ his naim kit when I got to his house. I dubiously agreed as I needed a poo and didn’t think I could bake it till I got home. It took him 15 minutes to allow the player to ‘warm up’ before he allowed the volume to go up and then complained recently humidity could have an effect but I was going to be in for a treat. Sure the CD sounded good but the obsessiveness took the enjoyment out if it.

    Online anything with chris Harris.

Wheeler Dealers is ok but as said above they don’t factor in Ed’s hours or tooling costs.

strippers: cars for cash can be entertaining but incredibly set up. And again they don’t factor in travel costs, engine sold for £200 just got to HGV it from London to Leeds

Sadly I’m getting the bullet in 3 weeks time. I will be taking any job to keep my bills paid. I thankfully may be getting a job with a friends friend in a shop for a bit (I used to work in a shop and I know it’s far from a doss) I will be on 65% of my salary but I expect after clocking off I will come home & not fire up the laptop, i will set my alarm at a sensible hour not have to converse with our overseas factories before work, I will work approx a 40 hour week with lunch breaks, i will not be doing 3 peoples jobs inc my senior. It’s been a really stressful past 6 months and I’ve lost 2 stone and according to my friends I’ve been like a zombie. I don’t know what the future holds and that scared me, but now I’m excited. I’m going to have to really tighten my belt but should have the essentials covered. I really really don’t need the stress I have been under recently. Life’s too short it really is.

Hope everyone’s bugs/virus get lost soon.

Not sure if its norovirus but there has been a bug going around work almost clockwise in our office from desk to desk. I was last to get it, was awful I went from fine to ‘I’m going home’ in about 5 minutes. Someone said its not the kind if thing you think you have got, or know your starting with (like a cold) it just happens. I got home and had to ask a neighbour for toilet roll as I couldn’t make it 4 houses down to the village shop. Spent 3 days in the bathroom lying in a sleeping bag drinking water all day. My fiancée was working away so I told her to just stay in London till I was back on terra firma. Tummy still glugging a week and a half later.

In all my discussions with this my fiancée has overheard some of my retro games are worth a fair bit. Oh dear. They can’t be sold…

The IT guy at work will do the software and load games onto it for me for a few beers and if I do him a logo for something. I have been asking about and starting to sway towards a cocktail cabinet, although a stand up with a bottle opener on the side and a fridge in the bottom has appeal.

Does the picade come with games pre-loaded?

I like cocktail cabinets but I would prefer an upright… I think

    Thanks for the replies.

A friend of a friend on Facebook has passed some of my drawing/ink work onto a studio who are happy for me to go in and have a chat (provided I bring cake) and maybe practice with a gun/see how it works first hand (not on a person obv) on the strength of my work. Really excited.

    Thanks Tazzy makes sense 🙂

I don’t know what her solution is. Mine was for feather edge. When we spoke initially we agreed that it should be like this so it was in keeping with the other sides. I rang another fencer today and described the job he estimated over the phone ‘£550 tops, without seeing it but seems a straight forward job’ landlady just taking piss.

Thanks for the replies. I’ve drafted a letter and just keeping it all in writing. It’s a shame it’s ended up this way over a fence, but want to keep good relations with the tennants who are no bother.

£4.5k for that??? No chance and it will feel unremarkable and bland by comparison, which it is.

I’d buy the 1M, it’s rare and cool. There’s often one parked up at the gym and it looks just right. A future classic for sure.

I was about 8, saying that I wouldn’t give my 10 year old nephew one. Depends on the child in question.

We had a series of demanding letters and our details sold onto a debt recovery firm for a £750 N-power bill we did not owe. It seemed after we moved out of a rented property the new tenenter were able reactivate the account in our name over the phone. It’s taken 6 months of letters and phone calls to get it sorted. While they admitted it was their error we were still getting letters off bailiffs. A few days ago we got a letter of apology and a £75 cheque and n power hope ‘this wont stop us from choosing them in the future’. They were utter shit to get in contact with but miles better than utility warehouse.

Thankfully we own a house now and can chose what company to use rather than being told by the landlord/letting agent.

I design watches (& homewares) for a UK company. I know the best places to get digital watches prototyped in Asia but its not by any means cheap. If your idea is based around the digital functionality rather than a case/strap idea it’s not going to be cheap. If its a case/strap idea then it can be done on a 3d printer here.

Interested to hear what your innovation is. I have the contacts and the experience and the tooling for prototyping.

Do you not think so Jamie? You can tell a difference when they’re side by side, but when you’re using a non retina screen on its own with no other frame of reference it is very very good (instead of very very very good). It’s a big premium to pay (on top of an already premium price) for a slight improvement. But that’s the law of diminishing returns I suppose.

The Retina display is much better. Much comes down to what your planning on using it for though, for graphics, photo editing and design work I would go for the retina display every time. If its a tool for your trade it’s hardly emperors new clothes or slightly better.
