It’s a very small town with little to do. Can’t imagine it being a night to remember for the right reasons. It is pleasant enough in a small town way.

I’ve bought a felt off eBay for £20, the frame looks good as do the wheels, I plan on spraying these and the bars. I will replace everything else with bits off crc, whole thing should come in for less than £100.

Ha ha, no Gary_M I’m not seriously that attached to the bike, I am after a similar bike for when mates visit/ as a second bike and thought why not see if my old ones still about.

I worked in a record shop around 1997 a guy came in who was visiting family (he lived 70 miles away) and commented on my Nintendo wristband (I was young back then) and we talked games for about an hour. Never saw him again then I was working in a games shop 5 years later and called a few people up after reviewing CVs, dude walks in and it’s wristband guy who had moved to be closer to family. Found out in interview he likes bikes, same music and films. He’s going to be my best man this year and we both remember the record shop meeting :-)

Yes you could sell it, the photography company won’t give a shit who turns up on the day so long as they bring their wallet. You will get very little cash for your voucher since they are common and given away in supermarkets and trade shows like sweets. Far better to have some fun with it and have a portrait of yourself naked of looking regal in crown and hang it above your fireplace.

A similar rehab centre opened by my parents, it was fine and my now getting elderly parents were a bit worried at first. There were no issues at all in the 18 months it was there. Funding was cut and it’s closed now. My dad was chatting to one of the patients and gave him some work clearing some tress, guy worked hard and was really grateful. He now works in a supermarket which is really cool from were he was all those years ago.

I’ve got a Scottie crossed with a westie, he is great happy to run a 5k, like hugs, very gentle, doesn’t yap and was easy to train. People say he looks like a cairn terrier. Fiancée wanted a smaller dog I wanted a bigger one so he was kind of a compromise and I am so glad we got him.

My fiancée lost her 4s (a few days after the phone was released :-/) find my phone only pinged it to the nearest mast unless that’s changed. She lost it cycling with me and it’s still up there somewhere in the valley. We rang it till it seemed like the battery died the next day then had it blocked.

None these days, i am not a big drinker anymore and would sooner get a taxi these days. Grassed up an old work mate after he drove home on 6 or more pints, I have no shame in grassing him up.

Some of the cars are cool but I wouldn’t call them Q cars.

I like the idea of a BMW 330ci mainly as I hadn’t considered one before or realised they are now this cheap. Some good shouts so far :-)

    I sold a coat.
I posted the coat – tracked.
    The coat arrived.
    Buyer says coat didn’t arrive.
I send screen shot of Royal Mail website saying coats been signed for.
Buyer says it hasn’t arrived and doesn’t fit anyway and looks more ‘green’ than in my photos.
I remember why I stopped selling on eBay.

E36’s do look like a lot of car for the money.

Keep it simple with a base model with less to go wrong, my mate picked up a Toyota Yaris for £600 a few years ago with 80k on the clock it’s done 120k now with no fault and only using consumables. An old civic would be worth looking at too.

I think FRP’s are going for a lot more than budget.
Cheers for suggestions, I’m thinking Clio or another mx5 mk1 at the moment

I loved mine, wish I hadn’t sold it! With eibach springs, and a palmer half cage it was huge fun on track/ring/roads
And still got 42mpg when on a proper run
Wasn’t cheap on rear discs, or exhausts.
    POSTED 4 MINUTES AGO # REPORT-POST

Cheers M0rk, I anticipate doing around 4k a year in this car at the very most so maybe the discs and exhaust won’t affect it so much.

Obvious choice, but what about a nice MX5? Great fun cars to drive.

I have had a MK1 and MK2.5 in the past. My girlfriend knows what a soft spot I’ve got for MK1s and thinks after all this talk I will just buy another…

As I said above I like it, if it were me doing it there’s a few things I would do different but that’s what I like, the fact you have got something you love and it fires up my imagination on what I would do. It’s a nice car I hope you really enjoy it you have prob worked really hard to get it. It must be pretty quick too.

Does it come up cleanly in Safe Mode?
    POSTED 5 HOURS AGO # REPORT-POST

Thanks, yes it’s all fine in safe mode. If I’m honest I looks like his parents are going to use this as an excuse to get him a new laptop. He struggles with letting his things ‘go’ /change.

Thanks, he’s been trying to boot it up for the last hour. The task bar is visible but is blank (ie it’s just the outline) i can get into explorer so will attempt to run virus scanners as suggested.

Cheers everyone off to PC world in the morning :-)

I have been working on retina based machines for a while, I think it’s value hugely depends on your intended use for the machine. For me it’s a must.

My fiancées dad works at BMW main dealer and he lent me a very similar M5 for a few days. I wouldn’t ever get bored of the power ( till I lost my licence) but as everyone has said above it was was thirsty. I don’t really buy into the ‘they have deprichiated loads as the people who can buy them new always want the newest thing’ whilst that may be true in some cases I’m told the majority get sold as people get fed up of the running costs ( not just fuel) plus they aren’t as well bolted together as they appear.

I still think you should buy one though, it would be lovely scratching that itch.

I was surprised to learn in my last job I was on £2,000 pa more than my senior and was offered another £2,000pa not to leave. I still can’t work that out. Currently being interviewed for a few more ‘career’ jobs while in the meantime I’m stacking shelves for minimum wage :-)

Beejam, why did they sell loose cereal in those clear tubes so you could fill your own bag like dog treats in pets at home.

Celica? Or is that too modern…
    Loads for under 2k

I love my celica, a good post 2003 one is extremely reliable. You can get a 190bhp model for around £2.5k if you look around. Loads for under £2k in 140bhp guise.

I like the fiat coupe idea!
