Toyota are remaking the original Landcruiser. I am waiting for them to be available for import. Love em, Japtastic. Buy a Defender now and I bet you’d be able to sell it in a year with zero depreciation. With the Freelander though? Freefaller?

Do you know how much a Landcruiser will cost to run? Are you suggesting here that you are waiting for them on import as you are going to buy one? Wonderfully capable vehicles.

We have a dehumidifier £70 second hand off eBay and a delonghi dragon oil radiator thing £60 off eBay and some of those humidity catchers that are a few quid from staples. I really don’t want to heat it but occasionally we have parties or I use it for teaching. The dragon was useless so I sold it and got 2 halgon heaters which were much better. The secret is to keep it ventilated and dry by taking the humidity out. To be honest it’s fighting a losing battle as it’s just not built to retain heat in the winter. My solution would fit in your budget but I’d spend as much of your £150 on dehumidifier and just get the heater(s) from b&m for about £10

My MIL has a wooden frame conservatory with underground heating and a stone floor, she also uses a dehumidifier, It’s the only conservatory I know of that’s comfortable all year round.

I would just get rid of it, it’s not a particularly exciting car and it’s just caused hassle. Unless of course you will run out of ideas for topics on here :-p

tpbiker, no it won’t, no it isn’t (Bugatti may be financed by the VAG group, but it certainly isn’t made by them, and I would suspect the artisans at Bugatti would have an opinion about it), and I don’t know many golf’s that’ll do over 200mph.
    you decide.

I work in a design role which you may consider ‘artisan’ our parent company is a house hold name. I’m quite happy to say what I design is manufactured by them since it’s them on invoices and my department is a low profit high exposure showcase. Our product is made on a different site with different tooling by different people but it’s still a product of the parent company. VAG bought the Bugatti name, for me it’s a VAG product (this is not a criticism of VAG in anyway)

When proton had a share in lotus I would not consider lotus to be in anyway proton as it was a share in the company and as far as I know proton had no hand in developing/designing cars with a lotus badge on them (although lotus tweaked protons existed) this for me is the opposite of what VAG did with Bugatti.

The Veyron differes as Piech bought the Bugatti name and places historically associated with it and produced a vehicle using it. I can’t see how the veyron is anything other than a VAG product.

I have a 13″ mac book pro, with retina display and 128gig, I use several external drives (work and personal) for extra storage, I connect it to a nice monitor at home for design work. I like the set up it works for me. I sit behind a mac at work all day and the small pro is good for taking on the move to clients or bringing home, it fits nice In my commuting rucksack.

As said above it’s tapered, I can’t see the air being good value in comparison.

Delemere is pleasent enough if you just fancy a ride, if it’s new to you there’s plenty to explore and you can’t really get lost. I think I have just got a bit bored of it as it’s local. I was there the other day it’s a bit muddy and that sandy stuff like to stick to your bike so I advise washing it off after, I don’t know if this will matter as much on a unicycle.

    Have a great ride :-)

Delemere is full of people walking on Sundays. As others have said the best bits need to be shown to you by a regular or it just seems pretty boring. I would go to llandegla.

    Thanks for the advice :-)

Just been on a 30 mile ride, slowly getting into the constant peddling thing and getting used to the gears.

My brakes seem very weak, do they need much bedding in? Maybe I’m expecting too much after huge discs?

Are you gonna have a backpack or will you need jersey pockets?

Backpack for a bit, we have a locker system at work with a waiting list I’m due for a locker in January. For my weekend rides I don’t want a back pack at all.

Gloves are a definate, I’m using my MTB gloves at the moment but I didn’t realise how many vents they all seem to have but I suppose i wasn’t going as quick on MTB

    Thankyou!
I’m currently on flats with a cage, they came with the bike. Some spd’s and shoes are on my Christmas list.

I’ve been out this morning for a practice at gear changing and keeping smooth. Really enjoying the road bike. My other bikes a BFe with 150mm fork so it’s a very different ride with more finesse on the road bike

Thanks Vicky, I’ve done the whole food diary thing but I honestly don’t know what caused mine. I want more councelling but my dr is reluctant on the nhs and the centre I attended is closed now due to government cuts :-(

Dark days glad they are almost gone :-)

Anyone on here ever suffered them? If so, what were your symptoms? How did you first know that you weren’t having a heart attack?
    POSTED 10 MINUTES AGO # REPORT-POST

I didn’t know I wasn’t having a heart attack and was taken to hospital. I suffered them for years and still have the occasional one, I know the warning signs now as I have had so many and take myself out of the room/area and it passes off. I have asthma so use an inhaler I found this works in calming me dons and my dr is fine with me using it in such a way.

I’m not making out I was worse off than other people and anyone suffering this has my full sympathy and support but friends say that have had ‘panic attacks’ but what I had was worse, sick, fainting heart racing, my chest would be sore for days after a big one as the muscles round the heart contract to protect it. I had counselling as I got scared to leave the house and eventually hypnotherapy which helped but they just seemed to occur less.

Hope your all doing ok and stuff

I’m in Chester, as I said it needs TLC I don’t really know it’s worth but I’m not going to use it just want back what it cost me. I’d sooner it was bought in person than posted as I don’t really know much about it and don’t want to post it for someone to be disappointed on collection or for me to miss sell it. I’m into MTB not BMX.

I live by a Citroen dealer I’ve seen a couple. I think they look tacky and childish, I expect they are bought by people who feel the need to try and be different and don’t really care about driving. That plasticky stuff on the sides looks cheap and I don’t think time will be very kind to it. I’m sure there are some well thought out features and as a vehicle it’s has it’s merits for those with families etc.

There maybe someone perfect for you looking right now and your posting on a bike forum about ‘getting back out there’ for heavens sake lad go and have some fun if it feels to soon cool it off ride your bike for a bit then look again. Life’s too short to be waiting for the right time :-) find a nice girl look after her and have fun in the process

Gap for me, ether bootcut or easy as they call them, only place that do decent jeans in a short fit.

No it’s not. Far from it. Edwin, Albam, nudie etc all have much more decent denims in a short fit and variety of rises.

Can the grown men please stop buying clothes from supermarkets. The odd pair of socks is fine but not jeans there’s a reason why they are cheap.

I spend around £100 I prefer selvedge these days, I like Edwin but they have started to be too common but they are still my go to brand. I often keep them for 6 months then eBay them for not much less than I paid for them. If you find a good fit and brand that you like stick with them. Avoid extra pockets and over washed looks.

Crap. Watched it in 2d on sky movies the other night. Lacking: aliens, blondes, car chase, geezers, guns & storyline.

On a serious note, it was very slick and the visuals are very good but all in all it’s a bit naff.

How long did it take? Are the backlogs that were apparent still ‘backlogged’?
I need to get a new one before I apply for an Indian visa but I’m off to Spain on 5th Oct.
    Should I panic?

IIRC Spain needs 6 months on your current passport, I may be wrong though. Id apply now.

Sod the kids, I ment as a second car/toy. :-)

Cheers for more replies! I’ve never had an auto before (driven a few) very very few manuals about anyway. The one I drove yesterday was a manual i didn’t dislike the shift it’s less harsh than my current cars but I can see if your coming from a different car it could be annoying.

I looked at a 530d, 535dM and ended up saving a pile of money and bought a Mercedes Benz C350 AMG sport+ instead, beautifully smooth V6 with a VGT turbo. Huge amounts of torque and power.
Both premium German marques but both marmite to most.
    It’s worth a look though.
Oh and I drive 400 miles a week and get an average of 43mpg with a heavy foot.
Service cost are fixed my 15000 ml first service cost around 300 sheets.

I’m drawn towards BMW as i can get parts/labour cheap. Thanks though :-)

If the father in law works for BMW, get him to look out for one on trade-in?
    POSTED 48 MINUTES AGO # REPORT-POST

Hi John he is, my OP was more about owners experience/running costs rather than one for sale :-) surprisingly there’s few about at the moment and typically the cars he has traded in are ex-lease or CC 320’s so he’s looking in the wider network. He’s a huge BMW fan so getting an honest opinion can be quite hard.

Going to view another one later :-)

Why do you need a 330d ? A 320d is way fast enough, and much more mpg
    POSTED 59 MINUTES AGO #

    I don’t ‘need’ a 330d but I’d like a straight 6. Whilst a 320D is nice it’s quite a different car.

Thanks for the replies. I’ve driven a 320d hire car a few times. The 330d. (Or whatever I get) will replace a celica 190bhp so I’m used to similar MPG. Just feel like I need to grow up a bit when I replace it and I like the 3 series. A 5 is too big for what I’m after. I’m drawn towards BMW as father in law works for them.

Does anyone have any advice they could give me on tablets or on learning illustrator in general? Thanks.

I’ve taught a bit in learning illo too. My first point of advice is to deconstruct (I’m assuming from your OP your not a novice in CC/CS) look at an image and see how it was put together.

I like these examples of getting started too, they are a good way to getting to grips with the tools:

Professional graphic designer and frequent illustrator user here; I do everything with a mouse. Lack of tablet shouldn’t be a limiting factor for using Illo should it?
    POSTED 47 MINUTES AGO # REPORT-POST

I’m an illustrator/graphic designer by trade too. I have a fine art background so find a tablet more natural to use. However I have collegues who prefer a mouse. I think this comes down to personal preference and I agree a lack of tablet doesn’t limit illo. Op I’d buy a very cheap used one off eBay or borrow one to see if you like it, if your anywhere near Chester I have an old bamboo you can borrow. These really are a marmite thing in my experience and I’ve seen many people buy expensive tablets only to eBay them later.

I’d imagine that would complicate things further.

You may struggle to get a rescue dog working away those hours.
