The beer in the Bush is great, the bitter end is ok but the landlady can be a bit funny, and the swan have a lock in if Beryl is still there! Can't help with the accomodation though!

The Ay-ups would be a good idea if you want lights on the bars and on your helmet, they seem to kick out plenty of light and are quite neat and small! Helmet lights are good if your riding lots of twisty singletrack stuff where you need to see where you are looking rather than just directly infront of the bars!

buy something comensurate with the value of other drivetrain parts, so if your rear cog and front ring both cost a tenner each, spend about a tenner.
i use izumi super toughness v suggested above. very good, but weighty ( i guess like all the fat chains are ).
half link chains have their uses, but if you have a decent way of tensioning, they are superfluos IMHO

WI freewheel and a goldtec/betd ring upfront! Looks like an Izumi supertoughness v then!

32/16 going up steep inclines, standing up out of the saddle, just about managing to turn the pedals is when it usually happens! BTW i'm 17 stone! Was hoping the problem was either a) my chain wasn't up to the job, or b) i'm too fat! or a combo of both, and the solution was a better chain! :-)

Mmmmm my PC1 worked ok tbh, only had problems when i changed to a PC7X, but i was putting it down to me being quite heavy and putting to much pressure on the chain, so thinking something a bit stronger!

Don't get the half link chain thing, surely 1 half link in a normal chain would get the same result??

I like mine, only downfall is i'm using a 100mm 40 degree rise stem to get them in the right place which in my opinion looks very fugly!

2nd time last year, and at the moment will have been my last!

First lap out its just a traffic jam, sat in the woods after about a mile for about 20 odd mins while the first bomb hole was negotiated, from then on it was just a mud fest, got back to my tent and i had a puddle on my kipping bag, threw all my stuff in the car, and stropped off home!

Make sure you don't go and do the first lap, unless your really fast and at the front!

I was up there at the weekend too, was riding really well, apart from some running water down one trail (pugsly??)
    Seemed quiet though!

There's some great riding over Kinver and surrounds, but not in August. You need to give the bracken and brambles a chance to die back.

I went over there a few weeks ago and came back looking like i'd been cutting myself! :-(

I'm sure the ranger locks the car park after the last car has left within a reasonable time of it going dusk, or like other have said park at Marquis drive, on the tarmac where it runs alongside the fireroad between S12 & 13

Problem is drac, I don't know what my shifts are until the thursday before the next week, and they can be changed (and very often do) at short notice! :-(

I really don't mind them taking the parcel to the main sorting office though as i work about 100 yards away from it! Does annoy me when i get home though and the little red slip is sitting on the mat! ;-)

So you know your not in when they deliver but still go ahead and order, then it's the PO fault you weren't in?

I don't know if i'm going to be in when they deliver, because they don't tell me the day the parcel will arrive, if i could choose the day for delivery then that would be ok!
I was on nights last night, 1800-2200 today, 1400-2200 tomorrow, 1400-1800 wednesday 0600-1400 thursday and friday!

Bought Lumi Led's this year and they're superb. I like the fact you can run your own home made batteries or older Lumi ones, the LED's can be changed in the future, multiple power settings, long run times and excellent customer service. Only downside is the cost if you want a flood and a spot but that looks the same with other LED's.

Davegr, the lumi led's use cutter led's and optics, get on of there 35mm triple optics and swap them around!

Engineering apprenticeships, Came out of one of their interview things and there was a job for British Rail as a junior railman, applied and got it over hundreds of others (helped that my dad had been on the railway for 33 years I think) That was 1991, and i'm still there, but as a Signalman now :-)
