I use these, one from my bike to twin 1s bike, then the other from twin 1 to twin 2s bike.

There was a company a while back called Gatorbrake which made an 8 piston brake but I’ve only ever seen one pair for sale second hand.

I have a set on one of my cargo bikes, 230mm rotors front and rear. Horrible levers that you could fit all your fingers on but I just want to be able to stop when loaded up with me (90kg + 2 25kg kids)

I’ve fitted avonite before which I think is similar if not the same material. Router is best but it creates loads of dust and I’m pretty sure I remember reading that it is carcinogenic so mask up

Depending how much your enlarging it I’ve had good success using a rebate bit, then flush trim bit so no need for the jig

I’ve got two cargo bikes (one front box, one longtail mtb) and are selling our second car now.

Our car has done less than 500 miles in the last year (both still working full time).

I’ve moved everything from guinea pigs, still in the hutch! To double divan beds and fridge freezers. Normal use is two heavy four year olds though

Screw 183cm panels to the front (or rear) face of the post, then screw a cover strip the same width as the post on top. Voila!

I’ve got spyres and we’re poor until I changed the pads for (I think) Uber bike race matrix (or whatever the white ones are) and they’re loads better, about as good as my old bb9s tbh

Surely you could get an axle turned down with 20mm ends and a 15mm centre, one end male thread, the other female.

No idea on building regs but out house is open plan all of downstairs, having no barrier between kitchen and anything else is a bit crap IMO, the whole house stinks if cooking fish etc. Smoke alarms go off all the time and washing machine noise.

I’d personally have some way of closing off the kitchen maybe with fancy room dividing walls or something

It may pay to look into a diesel heater, my stepdad has one in his workshop and it’s really good and saves having high draw electric heating

We had a Homebase kitchen and the salesperson done the design, end panels everywhere! The price of them alone was a lot and actually where we did need them (either side of oven etc) I just cut them in half as it was only the front showing. Saved a fair bit doing that iirc

My 4yo twin boys have early rider seeker x16 and I’m mighty impressed with them so I’d imagine the bigger ones are also good. Big volume tyres are like light suspension for them and they handle pump tracks and bmx tracks well

Ime single wheel for off road with lighting loads whilst having a fight with it to stop the bike falling over before you get on/whilst loading.

Double wheel for heavy loads and smooth trips whilst being slightly easier to load/unload.

I painted the inside of my old garage white, made a massive difference to light and airyness

    There’s a few here https://bikepacking.com/index/comfort-mtb-handlebars/

I’ve got actual Moto bars on my cargo mtb where weight isn’t important, although £14.99 from eBay and stick a shim in the stem and tadha!

Thanks for all the recommendations, I couldn’t find any reasonably priced in stock kettlebells so one basketball, some steel tubing and a bag of postcrete later and I have a 14kg kettlebell for zero cost as I had it all already!

When I feel like I need heavier I’ll try and buy a proper one but this is doing lovely so far

I had something delivered by dpd today, driver took a photo with the parcel and the front door open to show he had actually delivered it, told me that’s their current procedure unless you choose safe place

I’ve been half looking into this too, I’ve looked at that book above and am going to buy it soon I think. If you’re on Instagram take a look at dick cheeseburgers page, shows a tiny pump track but looks good fun.

You can get “portable” pump tracks which schools hire from what I’ve gathered and gave me the idea to make some rollers from ply and see if it expands to a full track.

How much space can you spare?

20-46 on my cargo bike, that’s right 20 on the front!

26inch rear wheel and I’m pretty sure I’ve had actual snails overtake me on long steep hills!

At the start of the beast from the east a few years ago I used an old front tyre and put short self tappers from the inside out through every other knob and then a layer of sticky neoprene to protect the tube just to make sure I could get to work. It worked amazingly well even just on the front and was great fun, sadly we don’t get that much ice this way to warrant using them again atm

Resistance bands could be a good shout actually!

Nearest decathlon is 100 miles away! I didn’t realise they actually had shops, thought they were online only if I’m honest

Never heard of a suspension trainer before, quick google and it won’t work for me at work, suspended polystyrene ceiling and I work from three different locations. I like the idea of it though tbh

I’m not expecting 2 stone weight loss from weights alone, should have put, ive been using mfp to track calories for six weeks and am in a deficit 99% of the time, cycle as much as I can (although mostly on a cargo bike with kids).

By the sounds of it a kettlebell or more May suit what I’m after

All angle grinder guards I’ve ever seen can be rotated, have a look for a clamp bolt to rotate it to where you need it, don’t remove it, ive seen first hand what happens when a disc explodes with no guard…. google it if you like

My goal is to lose 2 stone and cycle further/faster. Realistically itd be throw them around for ten minutes rather than watch YouTube etc.
Space wise I have plenty but a compact set up would be nice and I haven’t really thought about budget if I’m honest. £100 ish most likely

I would avoid anything flammable! Near us there were some council flats insulated externally and classed just like you’re planning, they had a breathable membrane to stop insects apparantley.

My stepdad just fitted a Chinese diesel heater into his uninsulated timber workshop, it’s mega! Warm and toasty and uses hardly any fuel, he has a car battery set up with a cheap solar panel to charge it so zero electrical cost.this may be worth looking into?!

Thanks, I was going to ring them but they’re shut til the 4th. I’ve adjusted it like you’ve said but I reckon now the belts a bit loose as it isn’t tight, I’ll adjust it up again and take tools with us today to try and find the sweet spot.

    👍

    49/50 for me.
Although I did go to a special school from 3-5 years, couldn’t hold a pencil the right way around before starting infants school, ive somehow ended up with a foundation degree and have a well paid job.
I was never diagnosed as autistic just assumed by all my teachers and parents through life. I work on trains (not that I’m a spotter) but I can remember the routes and timetables of the trains on my network even though I don’t need to, I’ve not made a conscious effort to learn it.
I’ve got no idea what I’d do if I had a diagnosis, nothing would change 🤷🏻‍♂️
