We are about £10k for the year. Books, trips, uniform extra. If a senior pupil goes on all trips through the last two years this can add to to 20 or 30 grand (no-one goe s on all trips).

I’m looking forward to Oct 1/2 term in the Red Sea 🙂

Yep teacher and a combination of exam leave and “fun lessons” in the lead into the hols (2 weeks and 1 day). Mean that i am effectively baby-sitting whilst watching the kids set fire to themselves.

If we applied the egg throwing (green slime) and shouting down (old bloke at party conference) to New Labour what would happen? Oh wait i think i know the answer to that.

Just to counter the (rather over used) anti-english sentiments from all scots, can i raise you the anti-“jock” sentiments by all english.

Oh sorry is it not all is it a small but vocal minority in each land that causes knee-jerk reaction by some.

Curry powder in the air vents. Stays there for months and becomes quite sickening after about 15 seconds.

AS above Passat is good and the octavia is based on the golf estate so smaller.

The engine to go for is the 2.0l tdi, plenty of pulling power.

Octavia would be the answer but because they are seen as the cheaper alternative demand has risen and they are now much of a muchness, according to the skoda garage i was talking to.

SSSHHHH the euro has been falling slowly but steadily for a few weeks now, i’ve been watching due to an alps trip in the summer. But if we make a noise about it it might pull it’s socks up and come back strong.

Pub i served in used to serve Loch Winnoch by the jug for free. If someone annoyed the staff we charged for it, well you gotta clean glasses pay for the lemon/ice cubes somehow.

Lot of BA employees on here aren’t there. No wonder they’ve lost 70 million.

Grrrr to that comment. As she who must be obeyed may lose her job with BA. But that doesn’t stop her from having a six day week with three stop overs.

I think the problem is the locked/unlocked room. I had a laptop stolen from a room i had locked but it had been opened by another member of staff. The insurance would not cover it as the room had not been locked BUT there had been a lack of XXXX(duty of care not quite the correct statement) on behalf of my employers.

If they said it was safe then you can assume it’s safe, therefore their liability BUT i’d try you own insurance first and £600!?!

HAs anyone actually tried to put their elbow in their ear? I’ve got a class of 15 year olds trying as we speak. Very amusing and better than the new GCSE Chemistry i’m meant to be teaching them.

I think that the population of Gealic speakers on the Scottish border/D&G boundary is down to teh fact that no one can understand anyone from Langholm.

Was put off cf when this happened (to be fair the chain stay was pretty dinged as well)

Correct me if I’m wrong, but that looks suspiciously still in one piece. So your issue is that you have a big impact of some sort (might be more useful with a little context), and a cf frame gets damaged?

Well the stay is cracked all the way round and what you can see is splintered and deliminated through its depth. The chain stay is Al and pretty bent out of shape and this was a point stress break on what i would assume is one of the structurally weaker points of the cf. Large lateral loading on a single point. Oh my roadie has plenty of cf so i should have qualified the statement with “I was put off having cf on my mtbs whenthis happened”
