Do you know if the quality of the maplin case is comparable?

I’ll take a look on the maplin site now….

I use the KMC ones on SRAM and Shimano chains. Work well but a right b**ch to undo (I can only do it with pliers).

This. I took a set of light weight long nose pliers to the grinder and formed a rounded rebate to suit the barrel of the chain.

Kink the chain and squeeze. Simples.

A mate of mine bought some genuine Wah Wah’s for £30 in gunsmoke last month.

I’ll text him to find out where from…..

During filming for the contest Filipe nearly broke his neck and left the frame in three

Good on him for cracking on but not exactly a good advertisement for cheap bikes.

Correct tool for the job and all that…

Casually browsing EBay tonight and apparently SLX cranks are ‘trick’. Shame as I may have put a bid in for these had they been normal SLX cranks.

    ’Trick crankz’

    (Not my sale BTW)

Have you done Transmission, Accelerator and Nitrous yet? All very good fun and are hard pack trails with the odd rock section. Should be good even in wet conditions and they will be quieter than usual.

The natural stuff is more muddy generally but once your out you’re out!

Head up to Slaley woods and over the moors to Pennypipe house. Some good singletrack around that way.

That said, I’m over in Teesdale atm and it is absolutely hammering it down. Think its going to be muddy for a few days.

That’s pretty much what I’d found out. Google doesn’t return many results and there are not many videos on YouTube.
I was hoping it was different and that it was an mtb mecca!

Not on a pc so could be wrong here.

Right click and display files as ‘details’ within folder.

Right click on the sub menu bar were there are tabs such as filename, date created filesize etc and you will get a pop up menu. Look through the list of options and select camera model or another applicable tab. Then sort by that tab.

    Should work from memory.

Not sure you can get med cage SLX in 10 sp at the moment?

If that is the case then you’ve answered my question! Cheers!

If it is anything like the engine in my saab (2.2Tid) then there is no fuel pump in the tank (gm engine originally designed and built by Isuzu).

Try getting a tow and lift the clutch in gear to draw the fuel through. It’s a common problem, at least my mechanic told me after he re started mine.

Glue-bag was one and a nasty one was ‘flid’

I couldn’t imagine I’d ever use these now.

Slightly OT, but I recently built up my mojo and went 2×10 at the same time by fitting 28/38 chainrings to my triple.

I’m pleased I did this as the chain was rubbing on the lower part of the stay when I originally fitted the crank with th 22 granny on. I could have fixed this but I would have needed to shorten the chain excessively.

Project manager chargeable time is usually £2000 per week or £50 p/h to employ one through a company. On a project of this type I would expect around 10hrs per week input rising to 20 hours for maybe 2 or 3 weeks.

If its mates rates though then knock off a third.

I’ve just fitted a hope pick ‘n mix to my 2012 SL-R with no problems at all (Same tapered headtube)

I went down this route so if I ever switched forks to taper, I’d only need replace the bottom section.

Headset runs smooth and I like the rubber seal on the lower crown race.

You will need to buy a Hope top cap though if you need everything to match. :P

I can’t recommend anyone local to you, but asbestos surveyors are relatively cheap.
The last one I had commissioned for a commercial property was £200 plus VAT and it took a few hours, but that was for multiple rooms and tested wall, floor and ceiling tiles, lagging and other plant room equipment.

You are probably best sticking ‘Asbestos Survey’ into google maps and getting quotes from a few local outfits.

Yes, <I think> the difference should be no more that 12 teeth between rings.

Have you considered getting a 11-36 rear cassette? According to Sheldon Browns gear calculator, the ratio is very similar to a 22 front and 32 rear, which should bring you back to what you want for the climbs.

You tend to find that you purchase a license from Autodesk which is registered to the individual so I think you’ll struggle to find one second hand. Google for Autodesk reseller UK and pick one nearby. You will have an initial outlay then a yearly subscription upgrade.

I am leaning toward the B&B clutch. Any reason the other two are any better??

After a twenty hour bus-ferry-bus-drive back to the north east after a holiday in Cahir, I closed the fire door of my flat which lead out onto a flat roof. To reach I leaned on on the door frame with my left hand and slammed the door closed, snapping the end off my middle finger. Two hours in plastic surgery and all is well.

Oh, there is also that time when I managed to kick my way through a concrete plank fence……

For <anyones> future reference, download ‘cute Pdf’. It appears as a printer option when you go to print / plot from most applications, including autocad, which then prints the image, drawing etc to a .Pdf format file.

It’s free and does not clog up the system with pop ups like other free programs.

My C.V. has been three pages for a number of years, but recently I reduced it to two pages and I doubt if I could reduce it further. I removed a number of experiences and left in only the salient points I thought were appropriate for the role I was considering.

I also have a change of career in my C.V. from around nine years ago. Everything in my work life prior to this is condensed down to one concise line.

I keep banging the drum about this one (I don’t work for them or have anything to do with them!) but it really is a brilliant app.

    MM Tracker[/url]

Memory Map OS map tiles, GPS position and track/ route overlay on your phone.

If you are worried about battery life, turn the phone onto ‘Aeroplane’ mode (ensure GPS is active though) and your phone should be good for all but the very longest of rides. My HTC HD has survived a 6+ hour ride with MM tracker on for both route finding and recording.

    EDIT:

    Also look into GPSIES app.

I generally use wheres the path website to create routes using their full screen OS maps. I then upload the route for storage and sharing purposes on the GPSIES website. If you have this app on your phone, you can access all of your routes or browse for routes nearby when you are out and about.
You can then download a route that takes your fancy direct to your phone through the app and open in in MM Tracker so you can follow this on via OS mapping.

Seems a bit drawn out when written like that ^ but is very simple to actually do.

It in not necessarily bad practice and I have seen examples of this on many drawings. The only problem is if the reader is not able to quantify what ‘=’ means from other dimensions.

    Right then,

There is a way of doing this, but you will need to place a block at each point you require a co-ordinate point from.

If there are ‘thousands’, I can send you over the block and you can place them. then send me over the topo and I’ll convert to excel.

You might not need a lisp routine, it would depend on how, or what entity has been used, to create each point.

I have programmed a button on my toolbar to extract this info to an excel file. It takes seconds.

Email my the drawing over and I’ll take a look.

    Yes, love these places!

A few years back I was rough camping near Alston and had to cut through a scrap yard back to where I’d left my kit in the woods.

Sitting there was a series 3 landie with the rear wheels & axles removed and replaced with a double cat track. I have a photie somewhere….
