So am I the only one that has this problem……??? 😯

I ‘burnt out’ about 6 years ago. Found I was riding for the sake of riding. To keep fit, get faster. Never stopped to take in the scenery. Completely stopped riding for over 3 years. Couldn’t even look at a bike. Got back in to it a couple of years ago. Now ride when I want to, probably only twice, sometimes only once a week (but my job knackers me out physically during the week). I actually get excited now and can’t wait to get out there. And I stop to look at the scenery now.

If it’s in your blood it will come back.

Aren’t you supposed to say Amen after a prayer? We do down sarf which is probably why its still nice here. 8)

Another vote for Endura Superlite. Good value and work, whether its a wet weekend in Wales or a winter slog.

Just the two of us. Usually ride quite fast, although I’m no single track god. Timewise up to you. 2-3 hrs? Thansk again. 🙂

You’re a star. Erm, where’s Upper Lodges car park? Is that off the Beacon Road at the top of Stanmer?

You’re in one of the best areas of South Downs riding, plenty of legal and not quite so legal fun trails, Sussex MTB have regular rides out of Worthing, some mates and I go out every Thurs, in other words there`s loads.
Got a five year old and there’s plenty to keep him occupied, bit of everything, and if you want a bit more excitement Brighton is just down the road.
Let us know when you’re down and we`ll show you around.

Im 5ft 9 and have about 25cm of post showing on a medium. Youd probably be border line. Best to try one…

Ragley Wisers. Lovely gloss black (or natural), 720mm and cheaper than Havens last time I looked.

Like I said previously, it’s better than me. Drop the post on the downs and it feels far better than the 46 ever did, and I tried it on one of our tougher climbs around here last weekend and for such a slack bike it was fantastic.

    Try one!

Hi, yep I have had a few problems with the chain coming off. Got mine 2nd hand on ebay at a cracking price. Three rides so far and it’s awesome. Dunno how you could call it fugly either – even my gf thinks its sexy (but then she thinks I am too…) Last ride it came off 3 times. Part of the problem I think is that I have come from a Whyte 46 which has a much higher bb and I’m not used to the low bb on the 146. The chain seems prone to jumping off if you get a pedal strike. Doesn’t have to be a massive one either. Had the same Sram X9 2×10 set up on the 46 and no problems.
It`s a bit niggly but the bike is so good it’s forgiveable. Finding myself climbing a gear or two higher and it descends far better than I can.
I did upgrade to the Reverb and that improves the ride too but apart from that it’s a totally sorted bike.

    Simon,
The inlaws live at the top of La Cala and there seem to be a few trails very local to them. The brotherinlaw has a road bike he keeps out there and he’s met up with a few locals so I’m sure they can show us the way next time. Lovely area.

It is Mijas alright. The opening shot looks like the view from the inlaws place. Not got to take the bike out there yet but that has convinced me.

Thanks Stumpy, just checked the manual and stripped the damper. Put it back together and now pushes all the way in. I didn`t check the oil level in the damper before I changed it but I think it was overfull.
    Sorted.
    Cheers

Just measured the oil that was in the damper leg and its only the 15ml that I put in, however I can`t push the damper rod further than 100mm back in to upper leg.(I'm guessing by its length that it needs to go the whole way in to achieve full travel)

Fantastic voice, aswell as the body. An artist aswell as an artiste.
Definately not on this planet but destined to become as big as Madonna.

2.25 front and rear, running tubeless. Blow up nice and wide on my Flows. Used them last summer and put them back on again for this summer. Not massively fast rolling but quick enough. Used them on sand, chalk, loose gravel and ran them at Cwm Carn and Afan. Can't fault them.

Cheers guys. I saw somewhere it can be done without removing the lowers? Just release all the air, undo the bolts and push it up from the bottom? Is that it or should I follow the manual and remove the lowers? And as far as I can tell its just 6ml of oil in the top after the lowers are bolted back on?
    Thanks again.

'Scuse my ignorance, but on a RS U-turn fork how easy/quick is it to reduce the travel? Could it be done on the fly and locked out or is it more of a faff than that?

Thanks for your input guys. I'm not a big hitter so don't always need 150mm of tavel, but I do use the lock down on steeper climbs. And why 140mm Revs – cos I'm looking at 2nd hand (cost wise) and can't see a set of 2010 150mm forks coming up at a decent price. I'll try climbing without the lockout and see how I get on.

njee20 – It would weigh even less without the cable reel hung on the front. 🙂

Nice looking frame Si. At that size it makes your 29er wheels look 'normal' if you know what I mean.
Its going to get a very muddy christening today methinks.

I think petesgaff is coming on his singlespeed so you`ll be in good company.

Yep it`s still happening. I have an alternate route which keeps away from the muddiest bits. Means a little bit of tarmac but also some tracks that most will not have been up/dowm before. Last night it was muddy but not too bad. Rain on its way today though so will most likely go with the new route. Still starts and (most importantly)finishes at the Amsterdam/Red Lion.

bunnerscj – not sure, it would be handy if anyone who thinks they might make it could post.

Lifer – Yes, start and finish in Shoreham. The station is only a couple of minutes away for those who wish to partake of a post ride tipple.

Why are you running ghetto on your Flows? Try it with just Stans yellow tape. I've run mine with (Panaracer) Razers with no problems.

OK, meet at the Amsterdam, Shoreham By Sea, Sat 3rd April.
9.45 for 10:00am start. 25-30 miles, couple of tough climbs, as much singletrack as possible. 3-4 hours I guess depending on the mechanical/puncture count. Choice of pubs for post ride food and drink.

I forgot all about my Hope hubs. Front and rear Ti disc hubs (6 bolt) in ano red. Can't remember when I got them but must have been around 2000. Not even had to change the bearings. Still running on the same wheels I built at the time with DT Rev's on 517CD Ceramics.

Come on guys. It's the first race with a load of new rules. From a lot of the after race comments it sounds to me that most teams were using it as a test to gain data for the rest of the season. It's not exactly the best track for overtaking either. So this one was a bit of a procession, let's not make too many judgements until the European leg starts though eh? And if it's that boring then, heh, don't watch it! 🙄

I found the opposite to Ade – had an AD10 for about 8 years on a series of Marin FRS. Couldn't fault it. No platform damping, but both adjustable compression and rebound damping and totally reliable.
