You have to have a stupidly expensive razor that takes old school razor blades and brush made out of the finest sable to mush up into some sort of dish of proper lathery foam made of special soap from a special soap merchants from somewhere obscure in Oldham

If I were employed by ASDA for shit money, shit stupid part-time waged contracts and spurious employment rights and meaningless non-pensions etc etc, I probably wouldn’t give too much of a toss about my job either. Their customer service has gone right down the pan in the last couple of years, they can’t keep cutting wages/staff/corners in the hope of keeping profits and targets met and keep up their perceived AMAZING customer service values going without **** ups and really pissing customers off. With the staff turnover, I wouldn’t be surprised if it was the drivers first day. They were/are really slow on the uptake with the whole home delivery service and online thing. For £6.62 an hr and no full time contracts – it’s a job for students, housewives, retired or bored people.

I get that Brooess if you’re really into running. I’m just looking for a total beginner shoe, something I can just stick on my feet and go running like I did in my teens with my nike air maxs. But something comfy that won’t fall to bits straight away – that can be done for £50 surely? If I get really into it I don’t mind spending another 20 quid to go on the train to a proper running shop to do all that polava. Just wondered what people that think “oh, I’ll go for a run..” stick on their feet? and a good linky to any good discounts ;) cheers all

You are right charlie. It’s really difficult for me to understand that kind of wealthvwithout thinking it is hugely selfish to blow 20 grand in a night. But if you are making 250grand a week that seems normal?it’s pretty fecked up imo. Local charity here needs 4 million a year to provide for terminally kids and their families, surely amyone with that kind of cash would refrain fdom the luxury for a bit to help vthe dying kiddies? I suppose this thread is all about moral relativism. Which makes it interesting!

I’ll push the boat out here and say perhaps you are wealthy enough to be able to afford to do this sort of stuff. You’re not relying on these paintings to pay the bills and electric really are you? It’s the sort of thing you can give 100% effort into if you so chose to do so? but maybe you’ll be ok if they don’t sell? yes, I am jealous!

Got an Osprey Talon 33 in the end in funky Cayenne orange. Choice between that or the 26L stratos. which I’m a bit unsure that I should’ve got instead. Ah well.

Although the Talon 33 is for day hikes up the mountains, I thought I’d give it a test run on the singlespeed to Tescos on a beer run. Held up well so far, got 4 bottles of Hobgoblin, a Cottage pie, a reduced pack of tuna fillets, 2 pints of milk and some bread in there. It’s pretty damn comfy for what I’m used to (cheap and crap). Happy consumer here so far..

I totally understand this “The money side is really unimportant, though it helps buy the time and materials for your next painting.” To just wake up and just be buzzing for painting or drawing stuff is such a cool feeling I had almost forgotten. It must be great to be in that position! I wish you all the luck with this one mate I really do!..

Not that it’s about money or owt. But I know for a fact you can’t spend all day painting/illustrating without being able to pay the bills! I’ve just started Landscape painting a bit since a long lay off.I think It’s what I want to do with my spare time at least. For what it’s worth, I really like that painting!
