It’s horrible having a bad off. possibly you are reading too many mtb magazines/websites where everyone is a mtb genius. We’re mostly just out for laughs on bikes and a bit crap and beer and shits n giggles. It’s all part of the process, just try to enjoy yourself, have fun, not hurt yourself too much and come home with a grin. That’s all it is. I like going slow :)

I wouldn’t go for pictures or patterns or symbols or icons, that stuff dates. If you’re going to do it do a proper job. do one whole hand yellow the other blue. when you get bored, do a layer of blue on the yellow hand to make it green, then a layer of red on the blue hand to make it purple. Keep going every few years till both hands are black or a muddy brown. Like mixing plasticines. Then start afresh on another body part.

do you wanna chill out on the booze, or give it up for good? in my experience you just don’t “switch off” If you think it is going a bit ott I would recommend writing down all your units (not pints, not wines) but exact units every day, and start totting them up TRUTHFULLY and marking them down at the end of each week and counting them up. just to see. and the numbers can be awakening. The thing with tolerance is you can build it up, so, a bottle of wine is nothing, a couple is just getting fruity and friendly. you think you’ve switched off! for how long?
