Sorry to dig up an old thread – did anyone ever actually get their ata cart to move more than about 155mm?

If not, think I’ll strip mine and see if there is indeed too much oil in there – seems highly unlikely as they wont compress any further even with all air valves removed or pressed in…

Beginning to wonder what the point of them is, may as well get a z1sl and get the same amount of travel (almost)

TBH you’re unlikely to get much more discount – the boardmans go out faster than they come in, so if you don’t buy it someone else will. A better approach would be to try and get something free with it. Make sure you speak to one of the ‘specialists’ – Their bonuses depend on selling these things so they’ll probably chuck in some free stuff for you.

Don’t think being stocked in halfords has affected anything – halfords don’t have any say in the spec like they do with voodoo/saracen/gt. Spec on the lower end ones is atrocious for the price though, don’t know why anyone would buy one unless on serious clearance.

The geo is pretty nasty on most of them as well, short tt and long seat tube. Maybe thats personal preference to a point. The one saving grace for me was the stab supreme, really really long with a nice short seat tube. Spot on for a lanky guy such as myself, I can have a long bike but keep the standover and sexy looks of a small!

Not sure it’s marketing. I believe the intention of Fox was to try and replace 9mm QR and come up with a suitable alternative. I love my 15QR forks, way stiffer than 9mm QR and so much quicker to undo/tighten.

Why didn’t they just use 20mm though, there don’t seem to be any advantages to using 15mm over 20mm.

Rockshox have proven that with maxle QR taking a wheel on and off can be completely hassle free – and we all know that a 20mm bit of pipe is stiffer than a 15mm bit of pipe for a given weight. Plus everyone already has a 20mm wheel (and if they don’t they have a QR wheel, so either way they a new hub/conversion kit.)

When were Iron Maiden fashionable? They hadn’t even recorded Killers in 1980. You aren’t suggesting that the pre bruce stuff was better?

Get a grip dude, it was all over after killers…
