I took my new RX100 out at the weekend to Penmachno.
I’m pleased with this which I have only used Photoshop to merge 3 images together and add the frame. Photoshop photo merge. 3 images of a stunning vista by Ken H, on Flickr

905 all the way and a stealth dropper from Alltricks to finish it off nicely.

“chester draws”
I wish Chester could draw.
They seem to be losing every week at the moment. Getting dragged closer to the relegation fight every game. 🙁

jonnytheleyther –
I’ve got the same combo as standard on my 905 hardtail and I’ve been looking to get something more suited to the winter, but just can’t decide.
Loads of choice in the shed in 26″ size, but as the 650b is new I’ve not built up any stock..

For what’s it worth I have gone for a 905 and after 2 rides out am lovin’ it.
Llandegla followed by a trip around Rivington so far.
I’m off on a 2 day trip this weekend from Conwy down to Barmouth via Llyn Cowlyd, Penmachno and Coed y Brenin and am looking forward to seeing how my body copes without the rear suspension after a few years not riding a hardtail.
😀

After yet another F. Off from a not very nice lady driver who pulled out on me, I rolled up alongside her at the next major junction and opened her passenger door. I explained about her potty mouth and rode off leaving her stranded with the door wide open as the lights went to green.
I smiled all the way home that evening. 🙂

There are many places with signs that suggest you find a stick and flick?
Llandegla being one such place and quite a number of FC car parks have signs.
I suppose it saves filling landfill with plastic bags.

2012 Cube Stereo SL. 3 yrs old next month and I still love riding it. 🙂
I am now ready for a shiny new hardtail though, but am struggling with what to go for!!

[New jacket given, and got to keep the old one!]
That was never going to happen for me as I had to send them a photo of the jacket cut up into at least 3 pieces.

[The prices they charge, you could buy three decent other jackets]
A good point well made Matt, but I did get the original in an end of season clearance sale from a shop in Aviemore.

2012 was my first one and funnily enough we went back in 2013 to try again.
Missed last year due to other commitments which means, I’m sorry to say, that the rain will be back this year as we’re going to give it a go again.

We stayed here a couple of years ago.
null
Fantastic accommodation and only a 6 mile drive/bike approx up to Coed-Y-Brenin.
You can also cycle out of the door onto the Barmouth Estuary track and do a loop of Pont Scethin. 😀

I’ve got Formula the one brakes and the noise is driving me insane.
I’m considering changing to SLX or XT.
I’m really getting to the point where I don’t want to touch the brakes which is no good as I’m a chicken going downhill.

I fancy a go on the zip wire at Zip World, but didn’t manage to get round to going this year.
As you’re near Betwys-y-Coed there’s lot’s of good cream teas on offer 😀
And if you’re up for a short walk, then a walk up to the Blue Lake above Fairbourne is worthwhile. It’s an old quarry and you walk through the old mine tunnel. Whenever I’ve taken friends & family up there it get’s a wow.

I complained and followed my original email up on a few occasions as I hadn’t heard anything.
I did receive what looked like a standard reply and thought nothing of it.
Eventually though I received a message advising me, that after observing the driver after mine and other complaints, he is no longer with the company.
Result!

+1 for’The Weirdstone of Brisingaman’ I’ve still got my original copy. I loved the Secret Seven series and used to love going into town on a Saturday to visit the library for some Just William books.
Happy Days indeed. 🙂

This is why I don’t post on here too much. I was just pointing out a common problem which I would imagine most cyclists come across at sometime or other.
I wasn’t looking for a argument with anybody, I get that on the commute unfortunately.
So why all the needless pointless comments?
I’ll leave certain nobodies to their petty negative view on life. 😕

So. The know it alls of Singletrack are off again!
Suburanreuben – Where in my post did I say I was knocked off by a parked pick-up? You off for a check up anytime soon?
Big John – Where in my post did I say I was riding on a pavement?
Gary M – And you’re not?

Maybe you don’t commute on your bike and you roll out the same story when you cross a cyclist.

Donk – Thank you for some common sense.

I was just pointing out how cheesed off I am that I have to listen to the same old lame apology everytime something happens.
The incident this morning was me cycling through Chester on my way to work when I came across some idiot monkey in a pickup parked up on the cycle lane & pavement. I mentioned it to him and during his rubbish excuse he mentioned that he was a cyclist so knows how bad it is. Why block the cycle lane then?

My 14 yr old, who could live on toasties, suggests chopping ham up and mixing this in with the cheese first to thicken it up.
This though makes a Ham & Cheese Toastie (or is it Cheese & Ham?) and not just cheese as per the original question!

Saturday was a very windy ride from Conwy and most of the way up Drum Mountain. Too be honest we did turn back, but we were advised by walkers that they couldn’t stand up on the top. Stayed ahead of the rain all day. Great fun. 🙂

I’m seriously considering giving up on the daily ride into work through Chester.
Everyday it’s another nightmare of near misses.
I was hit this morning by some fool backing out of a parking bay and not once looking my way. Luckily I was slowing down as soon as I saw the reverse lights go on!!
And to top it all, My son riding home from school this afternoon witnessed another cyclist being knocked off by a motorist driving across a cycle lane into their driveway!
Signed and best wishes to both of them.

We did this –

Sunny all day, fantastic dry trails (a few puddles alongside llyn cowlyd) and some pretty spectacular views in Snowdonia.
Great day out.

dazz & rs –
It’s not so much them not encouraging biking in, it’s the fact that the bike shed provided is hidden round the back and next to the railway line, which means anyone can climb over and take their pick of the bikes. Mine it seems more than others!
The security lads have offered me access to the loading bay, but the fool in charge of group property has told them I’m not to leave my bike in there as others will want to do likewise. (true, but not my worry)
All I want is either a secure facility or to be able to check on the bike regularly through the day.

Kind of similar situation for me.
They do provide a supposed secure cycle shed, which is hidden from view at the back of the building and carpark and over the last 5 years I’ve had 3 stolen and a set of wheels / seatpost (quick release!)
After the last one was taken, I started leaving the replacement in front of the building out of the way, but I could see it from my window.
I’ve now had countless emails, messages stuck to the bike and meetings as group property don’t want unsightly bikes on view to visitors!!!
We’ve agreed a compromise, whereas I’ve moved it further up the car park, while they look into putting a fence and gate around the bike racks. 3 months so far and nothing happening. It will be back once the dark winter months come back.

This has reminded me of a similar incident that happened to me in Chester back in December and I was promised a follow up.
Never happened obviously, so I’ve just sent them a message to remind them.
Hope you’re ok OP.

We’ve just spent a weekend at Dolgellau and rode the Temtiwr trail on Friday afternoon at Coed y Brenin. We drove down to Nant yr Arian for the Syfydrin trail, which was well worth the effort of the drive and then back to Coedy on Sunday for a ride around the Tarw.
A great weekends riding with great company. 😀

As GolfChick said – I take Scooby my 2 1/2 yr old Irish Setter if I’m at Delamere, Llandegla or other trail centres, but I’m not sure I’d want to take him up on open trails due to livestock.
He loves it and is constantly barking at me if I dare to have a rest.
Keeps me fit though 🙂

composite. I’ll get my 13yr old to try and get the harness on Scooby as he’s daft enough. 😀

And thanks for the comments simon. Maybe I should give the directors chair over to Scooby 😉
