normally night right with at least one or 2 others, more for a ‘what if you bin it’ be a long cold night if your hurt and cant get going waiting for someone to find ya lol

have done a few runs on my tod on the local trails, couple off odd things, worst was coming round a bend and seen a pile of lights, think to myself ah a load of bikers – nope just a load of guys in camo gear, i say alright lads, no response just stare at me, i assume they where ‘lamping’ as they had rifles and they maybe thought i was a gamekeeper or something – i rode of a fair bit faster, well it is Northern Ireland and they had guns lol

squeeze the lever before you open the nipple, close nipple before realeasing the lever and repeat a lot untill you get no more air coming out with the fluid.

Yep, run Presta on the other bikes with no problem.

Seems to the pump struggling to get above 80psi?

would a cheap stinger work in the mean time?

On this subject (sort off) just got a road bike, I can’t get my park tool track pump to get up to the required 110psi for the tyres, goes to about 80 and pump head actually blows off the valve (Presta) and iv to finish them off with my wee hand pump.

Surely a park tool track pump should do it ok?

iv a 456 carbon which i use as my xc bike as its built quite light, perfect for it and also good at the rougher stuff.

mate rides one built a bit beefier than mine and uses it for xc/all mountain rides, he even uses it on uplift days on the inners DH tracks and he is far from slow on it!

so dont worry about the strenght of them as mentioned above

So to convert did u just use the tape and sealant? Normal tyres?

I’ll have to convince myself to keep the rims before going tubeless with them.

Getting the tyre off is more hassle than getting them on!

ok….sorry dont get the pushing the bead through the rim?

removed tyres tonight, usual 1 lever in, hooked to spoke, a real hassle getting the 2nd lever in and even worse getting any movement to pull the tyre off.

had to resort to a bit of fairy liquid getting the new tyres on.

seems proper stupid but what way do you do it? (never had a problem on any other rim)

    cheers for any info

on a side note – if you dont mind me asking? roughly what is he charging to fit it?

i got a new boiler in the start of July with the intention to fit it myself, but with holidays/work and mtb iv not had the time and considering getting someone in to do it

Just in home, I had tied the lever into the bar this morning.

Undone it there and seems a lot better, must be a wee bit of air in it so hopefully a bleed should get it perfect but good to ride now at least

Iv to order a fox one, only one that keeps air in my ’36 forks when I disconnect it.

Iv a 20″ c456, used it mostly for longer xc rides but while I was building the new fs I used it on the more harsher rides and I was impressed how well it jumps/drops/descends

A mate uses his as his play bike, it’s been down all the Dh trails at inners and he would not be the last down.

    Great bikes

I just bought a Shimano kit of crc for the new build.

    3m outer cable
    2 inners
    2 end caps
    And 8(I think) ferrules

£19, probably not the cheapest but everything needed in 1 kit

Ok borrowed a mates fax pump and it’s fine with it!!!

Mine works on the revs and the rear shock on the new build…. Weird, but seems like I can ride the new bike in the morning 🙂

How did u replace the valve?

i find mine is only fairly reliable if its in the top pocket of my backpack.

if its in the shorts pocket (getting bounced about) it never syncs right.
